Lory Martinez was interviewed by Andrew Grill. They discussed the origin of her podcast, Lory's mission and business model as well as some of her secret sauce that goes into the making of her show.
Born to Colombian parents, Lory is a trilingual New Yorker living in Paris who runs the Mija Podcast and is CEO and founder of Studio Ochenta, a Paris-based podcast production studio with cross-cultural origins. They make podcasts for the world.
In addition to creating original content in French, Spanish and English, Ochenta adapts unique versions of shows to other languages, to build bridges across cultures, so that everyone has a chance to have their story heard.
Lory has a Masters in Global Communications from the American University of Paris.
Lory Martinez is no ordinary podcaster. She is Trilingual and set up Orchenta studios to tell great stories through the medium of podcasting. She has produced a number of innovative podcasts such as the Mija podcast, a series of 8 short-form podcasts about a fictional character, Mija which celebrates immigrants and their contributions to society.
She has also launched podcasts as diverse as Wine School Dropout and How Not To Travel.
