Welcome to Podcast from the Edge's very first episode!

We will be covering the global pandemic that we call Covid-19 (SARS-Cov-2). There's been a lot of media coverage on the virus and not all of it has been accurate, so I went to some experts for some answers and they agreed to come on the show.

Dr. Sarah Burgdorf, PhD is an infectious disease physician and virologist at the University of California at San Diego.

Jen is an health care industry veteran who's worked in almost every kind of medical setting and is currently watching the fallout to our medical system from an administrative perspective.

Both Jen and Dr. Burgdorf will help us increase our media and science literacy so we can better navigate the minefield of misinformation and find out what we currently know about immunity, the number of strains, potential therapies, vaccines, masks, the actual impact on the health care system, including doctors and nurses, why PPE is still hard to come by, current hospital capacity, the origins of the virus, why and where second surges will emerge, what the media isn't reporting on or telling us -- and what news sources are the most consistently accurate.

It was a lot to cover, so this is a long podcast.

Welcome to the Edge!
