- I'm really excited about this one and the, the integration being able to do both Apple Podcast
0:06
and premium podcasting at the same time.
0:09
There was, we've had a, a list of people
0:12
that have been waiting for this for a while, so I'm excited
0:15
to see this get off the ground and people to be able to implement this.
0:19
And I really don't have to use any third party services
0:21
and even folks that have been using Power Press
0:24
with some sort of membership plugin now.
0:27
Their big hassle was always integrating Stripe or PayPal
0:31
or some sort of payment platform, which was always seemed
0:34
to be the, it's - Always clunky, - The clunky part of it,
0:38
and we've taken care of that. We manage the subscriptions for you and collect the money
0:42
and, and then distribute payment. You're listening to Podcast Insider hosted by Mike Dell,
0:49
Todd Cochran, and Mackenzie Bennett from the Blueberry team
0:52
bring you weekly insights, advice, and insider tips
0:56
and tricks to help you start, grow and thrive through podcasting.
1:00
All with the support of your team here at Blueberry Podcasting.
1:03
Welcome. Let's dive in. - I'm Mackenzie Bennett, marketing
1:08
specialist here at Blueberry. - And I'm Mike Dell, the VP
1:11
of Customer Relations here at Blueberry.
1:14
- And I'm Todd Cochrane, CEO, and founder of Blueberry Podcasting.
1:17
Today, we're going to look back on 2023
1:21
and review all the features we've added
1:23
and some of the other things we've done this year.
1:30
Well, I'm gonna tell you, it's been a big year.
1:33
The whole team's been busy, and if we look back at the list, matter of fact,
1:37
I was kinda reviewing the whole roadmap for 2023
1:40
and it was just like, oh, oh my goodness,
1:43
look what we have done. And it, it's quite a list, isn't it?
1:46
- Hell yeah. And we still got more to come, but, uh, yeah, it's, it's something
1:50
that I'm sure we're missing something. I, there's been things that came out
1:55
that we didn't make a whole lot of hoopla about. So <laugh>,
1:59
- I'd say I'm just proud of what we've done this year.
2:01
Like we're little, we're looking at the list,
2:04
but in terms of what we actually got out there for people,
2:08
I'm happy with what we chose to provide them.
2:11
- And not only that, it's the amount of social
2:16
documentation, all, all the other content that we've added
2:21
to the website, especially in the last quarter
2:23
of the year has been pretty tremendous.
2:25
But I guess we can just go down the list and,
2:29
and talk about probably the, the, the highlights.
2:33
And the first thing that we came up the gate with was the,
2:36
the Apple Podcast subscriptions and making it available for podcasters
2:40
to monetize their podcast over on Apple Publishing
2:44
through the blueberry dashboard. And that was, that was a pretty big effort.
2:48
- Oh yeah. We spent lots of time with Apple in meetings and,
2:52
and the dev team worked with their dev team
2:56
and we got it done. I think we're still one of about four
3:00
or five companies that, that do this. So
3:03
- Yeah, I, I think there was two added in the last couple
3:07
of weeks, but, you know, we did this at the beginning
3:09
of the year and here it's almost the end of December
3:12
and they've, the other companies are just getting around to do it.
3:15
So I feel pretty good that we're that far ahead in, in the list.
3:19
Of course, quick Links was something that we put together,
3:21
and matter of fact, we're, we're gonna refresh Quick links
3:24
almost the next probably month or two with some new features as well.
3:28
So for those that don't know, quick Links is where
3:32
you can have, uh, a link at podcast show board slash your keyword to be able
3:38
to promote your show. It's just kind of a, almost like a Link Tree
3:42
type of replacement. A little more than that at this point,
3:45
but yeah, that was, that was put in place as well.
3:48
- Yeah, and that's a, that's just a, a quick easy to say
3:52
thing that you can put in your show. You know, you say go to, like,
3:56
in this case our Quick Links page is, uh, podcast
4:00
show slash podcast. Since we built it, we got to get the good keyword.
4:05
- Yeah, we ca we, we captured the, the major keyword.
4:08
So go ahead. What's, what was next on the list? - Media Mastering by Onic.
4:13
We partnered with them to have just an integration in our system
4:19
where people can use Onic to master their media
4:22
before the episode is finalized. But it's a really easy solution of they just upload the file
4:27
to us, we do all the work in the background,
4:31
and then it just goes out. - I'm pretty excited that this was put in place
4:35
because for many years I used the software version of Onic
4:40
and matter of fact, they are not updating that version
4:43
of software anymore. They want you to use their cloud-based solution. Yeah.
4:47
So you can't even, you can't even get the software version
4:50
of a phonic anymore. And I think I paid 3 49
4:53
or something like that for the commercial license. - Yeah, it's up there. I I have it as well.
4:58
And, and lately I've just been using Mastering
5:01
'cause it's so much, uh, easier. You, yeah, click one tick mark, uh, in the uploader
5:06
and you can upload the wave too. You don't even have to convert
5:08
to MP three if you don't want to. - Yeah, that's actually the best way to do it too,
5:12
because I've taken the, now basically when I get done
5:16
with my Wave file, I just save it in the show name
5:18
and upload it, and then I'm essentially working on show notes.
5:22
And by the time I'm done with the show notes, the, the media's mastered.
5:25
And for those of you that don't know what a phonic does,
5:28
but this media mastering it, it levels your media,
5:32
it removes noise, there's a whole bunch of settings for it,
5:35
and they're, they're world class and we're really, really happy to be integrated with them.
5:40
And it's a, it's a great add-on, and it literally saves me
5:44
probably 10 minutes per episode in the publishing process.
5:48
- Yeah, and, and what, what's really nice about, like,
5:51
with this episode, we're recording here, it'll go
5:54
through Onic and, and our editing team and all that stuff,
5:59
but you know, Todd McKenzie and I are all in different places
6:02
with different microphones and different levels.
6:05
We don't have to worry so much about the
6:07
leveling when we're recording. We do a pretty good job,
6:10
but this just really tweaks it so that you're not reaching
6:14
for the volume knob every time Todd talks and,
6:17
and so on and so forth. So it's pretty, pretty handy.
6:23
- And let's go ahead and move on. What's next on the list?
6:25
- Yeah, we did a lot with Podcasting 2.0, of course,
6:29
we talk about that a lot. So it's been kind of an ongoing process,
6:32
but we did get value for value in this year.
6:37
And also the live tag, the, the, so
6:40
where you can notify people that you're going live,
6:43
but the value for value tag is a way to stream Satoshi,
6:47
which are micro payments of Bitcoin to your favorite
6:53
podcaster, or you get them from your listeners.
6:56
And you can also send Boosto grams, which are kind of
7:01
like paid comments or super chats on YouTube
7:04
or something like that. But we, we've made it really easy with a partnership
7:09
with Albi and, or get Albi
7:12
and you can link your G get ALB wallet
7:15
or your Fountain wallet or if you have a Lightning address,
7:19
you just do it whatever address you got.
7:21
And, and it works pretty seamlessly. - And there's a whole bunch of other features
7:26
that we've added as well that just goes beyond
7:30
what Mike has talked about here initially. We have a whole page that is basically dedicated
7:36
to talking about all the, all the features that are out there.
7:40
And, um, I'm pretty, uh, pretty pleased that we're,
7:44
we're one of the top adopters
7:46
of the podcasting 2.0 initiative to expand the capability of
7:52
RSS and bring lots of cool features to lots of, uh,
7:54
new podcast [email protected].
7:58
- And the beauty of that is that, that none
8:01
of this stuff is required. It's just adding value to your feed, to
8:08
apps that use it. It's great. And I've, I've actually had a lot
8:12
of people switch to us because of our support for Podcast 2.0 or Podcasting 2.0.
8:19
- One of the most exciting products
8:21
that we brought online is an add-on called the Thrive Bundle.
8:24
And the Thrive Bundle is exciting in that we are continuing
8:29
to add more features to the Thrive Bundle.
8:33
And we first launched it, I think we only had four features. Three
8:37
- Or four, yeah, - Yeah. But we've continued to add more products to it
8:42
and more, I mean, basically it's just additional features
8:44
that were, we're, we're adding on
8:47
and we're gonna add some more stuff to the Thrive Bundle
8:51
in the next quarter or so. And what happens there is if you've got the Thrive Bundle,
8:55
you've already got the ability to do dynamic ad insertion,
9:00
pre-roll in the stats, you can compare,
9:03
do episode comparison of up to five episodes versus the three you get not on.
9:09
You can track listeners and subscribers.
9:11
That's a whole new chart that you only get
9:15
in Thrive in Stats. Average Daily Plays is another one
9:19
where you get a unique metric. We've added the ability for you
9:23
to have additional information within Quick links
9:25
with hyperlinks, value for value and analytic stuff in Quick Links.
9:30
We've got Apple Podcast reviews within the blueberry stats
9:34
dashboard is allow, uh, also there,
9:38
and again, this is a, an A bundle add-on that is available
9:41
for a $10 a month added to your hosting plan.
9:45
And again, we're gonna continue to add value to the,
9:49
the Thrive bundle that allow you
9:51
to get more value at over that over time.
9:54
And it's, I I think right now the plan is, is to continue
9:59
to add features to it, because again, this isn't, this is incremental stuff
10:03
that's just onesie twosies here and there on different products
10:06
where you get a little bit in stats, you get something in Add insertion.
10:10
Not everyone needs all these things,
10:13
but at the same time, if we add enough value,
10:16
there might be three or four of those features that we've,
10:19
uh, added in the Thrive Bundle that, uh, makes it worth
10:21
that extra $10 a month. - One of the next things
10:25
that we added this year was we didn't update to our stats.
10:29
We added some more data points so
10:33
that you're getting more out of your stats without having
10:35
to get the Thrive Bundle. There is not good information in there,
10:39
but some of this we just added, we were like,
10:41
this is just new and relevant information. We have it, let's just add it to
10:45
the current plans that we already have. - And stats is something that's continually looked at,
10:49
and if you're listening to this, you say, wow, Todd,
10:51
I I really wish that you had this as a stats component.
10:57
Feel free to drop us a [email protected]
11:00
and say, Hey, I wish we wish we had this in the stats.
11:03
And these types of inputs we get from those of you
11:06
that are using our services really go pretty high on the
11:10
list on what we should adopt,
11:13
because usually more than one person's thinking about the
11:15
same type of an idea. So when we get these ideas, we put 'em in a bucket and,
11:20
and keep track of 'em, and then they go into our overall timeline of,
11:25
of adding features to the service. Something fun that we added was, uh,
11:29
badges and achievements. And basically what what we have really found is
11:33
that we've gamified some of the features within Blueberry
11:36
to say, if you adopt this, you get this badge.
11:39
If you reach this level of number of episodes published,
11:42
you get this badge and certain achievements. So the badges and achievements is fun
11:46
because it allows you to take those awards
11:51
and take the embed of those, those and put 'em on your website if you want to.
11:55
And, and we even have event badges where we went
11:58
to podcast movement and there was a badge, - Right?
12:01
And if you come and visit us at an event, we'll give you a badge for that.
12:04
So yeah, it's, it is a lot of fun. We, we spent quite a bit of time figuring out
12:09
what badges we wanted to use, and of course, Aaron, our, uh,
12:13
graphic artist did a really great job making
12:16
those things look good. And yeah, it's, it's, it's a really cool thing if you,
12:20
if you haven't played with it, it's right there in your dashboard
12:23
when you sign into Blueberry. - Our directory had been pretty, I guess for a better words,
12:29
I wouldn't say stagnant, but basically we didn't have the full directory of podcast
12:34
in it for a long, long time. And we made an initiative to update the directory now
12:39
to include, I think 3.5 million podcasts are in the
12:43
directory at this point. So the directory now has a full list of shows
12:48
and it's maintained actively and updated. So that is one of those things, one of those initiatives.
12:53
As a matter of fact, it's ongoing. It's a, it's a thing that we, we look at on a,
12:57
basically almost a weekly basis to make sure it's updated
13:00
and clean so that you can find all the shows at
13:03
within our directory. If you use our directory,
13:05
- I believe we pull both from Apple and Podcast Index.
13:10
- Yeah, I believe so as well. - One of my favorite things that we did this year was we
13:15
released a podcast stats, P-W-A-A-K-A, a way for people
13:20
to access and review their stats on their phone in like a,
13:24
basically in a mobile app, we've always had people
13:28
saying like, I want this data now.
13:31
And just given that it's a lot of information, we were
13:34
very happy to be able to put it into a mobile access
13:39
that is just really simple to understand.
13:41
It's clean, it's accessible for everyone.
13:44
So I thought that one was really cool.
13:47
- Yeah. And that's an example of something
13:50
that people have asked for through, you know, asking us,
13:53
Hey, you know, here, I, I would like to have this.
13:56
And, and that's one of those examples.
14:00
And the next one, uh, the playlist players.
14:03
- I do, I do wanna add something to the stats PWA.
14:06
So those of you that haven't implemented this,
14:09
you can essentially, when you add the stats PWA
14:12
to your mobile device, you have an icon, right?
14:15
As a, as a normal app, right. On your mobile device.
14:18
And you click the blueberry icon
14:20
and it loads stats in a PWA.
14:24
So basically you don't have to log into Blueberry or anything.
14:26
It's, it's the regular icon is right on.
14:29
- Yeah, it looks like an app, but likes
14:32
- An app. Yeah, it's an app. It's an, yeah, it's a, it's a, it's a mobile PWA app,
14:35
but again, you have the, in the app, right, on your,
14:38
on your mobile device, whether it's Android or iOS.
14:41
- But to get it, you have to download it
14:44
and get it from being logged into Blueberry.
14:47
It's not something you can go to the app store and get it functions like something you would get from the
14:52
App store, but that's not where you are actually acquiring it.
14:55
- Yeah. You, you acquire it right in the stats
14:58
menu. And if you've had tr - There's a popup that comes up towards the bottom
15:01
of the screen and just click that away you go.
15:05
- And if you've had any troubles accessing that, let us know.
15:08
We wanna make sure you get access to it. - Yeah, and like I said, the another example
15:13
of a requested feature, it was an embeddable playlist player.
15:18
Now we've always had that within PowerPress where,
15:21
but the player had to be within the same website
15:25
that you're generating here podcast with.
15:28
So what we did is we made an actual iframe in bed
15:32
that you can use, whether you're using Blueberry Publisher
15:36
or Power Press, and that can be put on any page.
15:41
Also along with a playlist player, we have a latest episode player, so if you just wanna
15:46
landing page, you throw that in bed
15:48
for the latest episode player. And so your latest episode will always be on that page.
15:54
- And this is one of those features that was kind
15:56
of lingering for a while. We had, like Mike said,
15:59
we had this playlist player build in a power press,
16:01
but it wasn't super functional, it just listed like the last 10 episodes.
16:05
And with this new player, we've got options.
16:08
Again, like Mike said, for you to be able to set the number
16:11
of episodes you want to be shown again, if you just want
16:15
that most current episode to play or to be displayed.
16:19
So it's, it's quite the improvement. And if you haven't messed with that, get into the dashboard
16:23
and, and grab it and grab the embed and,
16:26
and drop it on your website. Or if you have a, a partner,
16:29
maybe they go on a partner page. One of our, one of our big, big projects this year,
16:34
and we've got a variety of third party services
16:36
that maybe a lot of you don't know about, but Podcast Mirror is a product that we've had,
16:42
I think since about 2017 or so. Yes.
16:46
- Something like that. Yeah. - And it was a free service.
16:49
And what we've determined was, is that
16:52
with everything else happening in the world, it was time
16:55
to update it. And number two, we improved it to a point
16:59
where we felt there was enough added value
17:01
to make it a paid service. So Podcast Mirror was improved, it was, uh, implemented
17:05
with a lot of podcast 2.0 stuff that allows folks
17:08
that are on hosting platforms
17:10
that do not have any podcasting two point implementation,
17:14
they can get a half dozen or so Podcast 2.0 features as well
17:19
as a little more integrated, uh, service.
17:22
So we switched that to a paid service.
17:24
And matter of fact, the free users ran out here a few days ago, so now the,
17:30
the service is 100% premium. But I think those, you do
17:35
- Get it if you are hosting with Blueberry,
17:37
- Yeah, you're hosting with, that's great. But one thing I will mention, if you're hosting with us,
17:42
especially if you're hosting on the Blueberry dashboard,
17:46
there's really no reason to use Mirror
17:49
unless you want the flexibility of being able
17:52
to potentially move host later. But as a hosting customer, you do get it for free as part
17:58
of the service, but you really, if again, if you're using the dashboard, you really don't need it.
18:03
Now if you might, if you're a Power Press user and you might wanna consider it if,
18:07
especially on a low cost hosting plan,
18:10
and that was, was was really initially designed for,
18:13
was folks that were on a very inexpensive hosting plan
18:16
that was getting hit too hard on their, on their RS assessments.
18:19
WordPress, yeah, yeah,
18:22
- Yeah. And the, the thing is that the feeds
18:24
that come from Blueberry publisher are really exactly the
18:29
same technology as smear under the hood.
18:31
So there's no advantage other than, like Todd said,
18:34
potentially switching hosts, but we hope you don't do that.
18:37
- And matter of fact, if you are on the dashboard,
18:39
you get more, there's more features.
18:43
In other words, on the podcasting two point implementation,
18:45
there's some stuff we can't carry over from the dashboard to mirror.
18:50
So Dashboard is always the best place
18:53
to implement any podcast 2.0 features.
18:55
'cause you get the whole stack, not the half dozen
18:58
or so that we were able to implement on Mirror.
19:00
- And then the last one here is premium podcasting.
19:05
And similar to what Apple does we did at the beginning
19:08
of the year, we've sort of replicated that in a way, uh,
19:13
with other apps that can use password protected feeds.
19:18
That's been an ask for a long time too.
19:21
We've always supported it in Power Press,
19:24
but this is a complete solution.
19:27
It's a $10 add-on, plus we take a cut of,
19:30
of your subscriptions. But you publish your, your premium episodes,
19:36
your paid episodes, whether it be for, you know,
19:40
early release exclusive content
19:43
or add free versions, uh, whatever you wanna do there.
19:48
And what's nice about it is you can do it right in the same,
19:52
uh, post or the same episode post.
19:55
You can do Apple Blueberry Premium and public all in one.
20:00
- And I think that was, uh, what people thought.
20:03
So far, the feedback I've gotten has been the most
20:05
innovative piece is if you are already publishing
20:08
to Apple Podcast subscriptions or Apple Premium by having the Blueberry Premium podcasting,
20:15
you basically have two ways now to monetize your content.
20:19
They can do it through Apple directly
20:21
or you could do it through Blueberry.
20:23
Now the Mike mentioned that the add-on was $10 a month.
20:27
We do take 15%. So 15% for all the,
20:31
and we take care of all the credit card processing fees,
20:34
everything goes along with that. So if you have a $10, you set your,
20:40
your premium podcasting at 10 bucks, you'll get eight 50
20:44
from us on a monthly basis. - I think Apple takes 30, don't
20:48
- They? They, I think they take 30. The first year might be lower.
20:52
Don't quote me on that. Yeah, - I don't know for - Sure either <laugh>.
20:55
Yeah. But definitely it's a way where you,
20:57
and you give, we give you a landing page too as a podcaster.
21:01
You get a a a landing page to send your
21:04
potential premium podcasting customers to.
21:08
I'm, I'm really excited about this one
21:10
and the, the integration being able
21:12
to do both Apple Podcasts and premium podcasting at the same time.
21:18
There was, we've had a, a list of people that have been waiting for this for a while.
21:22
So I'm excited to see this get off the ground
21:25
and people be able to implement this.
21:27
And I really don't have to use any third party services.
21:30
And even folks that have been using PowerPress
21:32
with some sort of membership plugin now,
21:35
their big hassle was always integrating Stripe or PayPal
21:39
or some sort of payment platform,
21:41
which was always seemed to be the, - It's always clunky, - The clunky part of it.
21:46
And we've taken care of that. We manage the subscriptions for you and collect the money
21:50
and, and then distribute payments.
21:53
So yeah, I'm really, really excited about premium podcasting.
21:55
And again, we, that's been on the street now for just, just a little while.
21:59
So it's a brand new product. - So of course we talked about a lot
22:05
of the podcast 2.0 stuff, but we've been slowly adding all kinds
22:11
of different features to Podcast 2.0 or,
22:15
and we call 'em features. And that's the thing, a lot of people, a lot
22:19
of people call 'em tags and this and that and, and,
22:22
and that's, that's kind of geeky.
22:25
So we've kind of integrated them like our transcripts,
22:28
that's part of podcasting 2.0, which we did last year.
22:32
And to our podcasters,
22:36
they don't necessarily know that that's Podcast 2.0.
22:40
It's just a, a cool feature <laugh>.
22:42
And so we, we definitely have put some effort into that.
22:46
And of course we're working on more. - So McKenzie, we've had a whole bunch
22:50
of other activities go on this year. You wanna get into any of that
22:53
or did you have something to add? I'm sorry. - No, just about the podcasting 2.0.
22:57
So like it's, Mike, you said like it gets pretty geeky
23:00
and that's like great for you and you and Todd <laugh> like you, you love discussing that.
23:05
For me, I think it's just like, I understand it
23:08
and I can appreciate what all of these different like initiatives behind it,
23:13
like all these different tag items and why they exist
23:16
and why they're trying to implement them.
23:18
But I think it's gonna be a slow adoption. It's, that's really what it's gonna be.
23:23
It's not gonna be a creator adoption. Like initially it's gonna be companies have
23:29
to provide these options for people to actually wanna do it.
23:32
There is, there is a lot of interest in
23:34
what these tags are like, the funding, the locking, the,
23:38
the value for value, all of these things. It just has to be very simple for people
23:42
to actually be able to do. And I think by us doing that,
23:45
and by hopefully in 2024 we see
23:48
more hosting companies implement it in a simple, easy
23:52
to understand way as well, then things will happen.
23:56
- It's one of the reasons why we've built everything
23:59
to this point to make it, it's basically a feature
24:02
and we've tried to completely remove the geek.
24:07
I understand the geek, the average podcaster does not need
24:10
to understand the geek ery. They need to understand,
24:13
they need to understand the purpose. What is this going to do for me?
24:17
And ultimately, and as these features are adopted in more apps,
24:23
and I think now there's about a half dozen apps
24:25
or have most of these features, is that your,
24:30
the ultimate goal, the ultimate goal of the initiative is
24:35
to keep your listeners in the app and at the same time being able to interact with you,
24:42
the host within the app across a variety of features.
24:46
And basically it's, it's really, it's a partnership, um,
24:49
multi-level partnership that there's benefits
24:52
for the app developers, there's benefits for the,
24:55
the podcaster. There's, there's benefits for the listener.
24:59
And in the end what it really, really boils down to is this,
25:04
it's a multifaceted collaboration.
25:06
It's just not us putting out features. It's also apps de deploying these features within,
25:12
within the apps or even on some websites.
25:14
Now in the future, we're gonna be coming out with some cool stuff that will actually help you take some
25:19
of those features and, and promote 'em in your own way.
25:23
And I guess I won't go too much into, into that,
25:26
but I think the - Skunkworks - <laugh> the, yeah, the ultimately though,
25:31
as Mackenzie as you said, this is a slow roll adoption
25:36
and there's the chicken and the egg thing
25:38
and what we really decided to be was the chicken
25:42
and basically making sure that everything was in place so
25:46
that as the egg was dropped <laugh>, then it basically,
25:49
the egg can be cooked and it can be utilized across these
25:52
different platforms. 'cause if we hadn't adopted it, the, the apps wouldn't.
25:56
So we decided to be a leader along with four
26:00
or five other hosting companies and adapting these features to be able to take advantage,
26:05
basically feed the Feed the
26:07
Beast, I guess is the better way. Feed the system. - We have never shied away from implementing something
26:12
that it seems a little know over the top for someone
26:17
that we think could have great adoption in the future.
26:20
- Yeah. And we know this is gonna be a couple
26:22
of years up ramp.
26:24
I have no, no doubt. But there's some stuff that's pretty cool
26:27
and I just recommend if you're trying to say understand
26:30
what we're doing is to go
26:32
to the podcasting 2.0 introduction page
26:35
and just read through and there might be three, four things there that you say, wow, that I should implement
26:39
that you don't have to do 'em all, but some of are set and forget.
26:42
So that's the beauty of <crosstalk>. And - Some of 'em are under the hood too, that you,
26:46
you're already participating and you don't know it <laugh>. Yeah,
26:48
- You don't dunno. So we also had a big team meeting in June, got together
26:52
that didn't, that basically drove a lot of our development
26:55
for the last half of the year. But we had an end of a chapter too.
26:58
We closed the office and, uh, Mackenzie, how much
27:01
furniture have we got left to sell? A little bit still,
27:04
- We have a little bit left. So if anyone is looking for some
27:08
significant office furniture, we have a beautiful
27:12
l-shaped desk and two combined
27:16
dual desks. I, so that's about it.
27:20
Otherwise we, we cleaned house in that office.
27:24
So many people, like so many people on our team were able
27:26
to take equipment home with them. It was, it was just like a, a nice ending to
27:32
what was a very successful and fun office in person.
27:36
But we've just shifted with the world. Yeah.
27:39
- And that, what, is there two people left in Columbus now?
27:42
- Yes. <laugh> - And, and that, that Jack
27:45
and Jill, I call it a Jack and Jill desk.
27:47
Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>, I tell you, if I had a place for it, I'd have it.
27:51
It's, it's, they're probably the nicest desk
27:53
that we had in the office, but all of it was I think Schoolcraft or
27:58
- Steelcase. - Yeah. Steelcase about $80,000 worth of furniture.
28:02
And again, most of it went home with the employees
28:05
and then we sold a portion of it. Yeah. So there's also, we attended some events,
28:10
can't even remember all of them. Yeah, - <laugh>.
28:13
Yeah, I was trying to put together a list, so thank Sure.
28:15
- There's a couple missing <laugh>. - So starting off like at the beginning
28:18
of the year there was podcast and podcast movement evolutions.
28:24
So I'd say those are January, February,
28:27
March, sometime around that time. You guys attended those in April we had
28:32
National Association of Broadcasters in Vegas.
28:37
TD show. Yeah, we had a TD in May
28:41
that we attended and then in Diego. So yeah, rounded it out
28:45
with a podcast movement in Denver in August
28:48
- And then Lana attended AWS reinvent
28:52
and was on a panel there.
28:54
So even our dev team got in on the action, which is good.
28:58
- Oh yeah, they attended a, a conference in Austin
29:00
as well not too long ago to just continue learning Yeah.
29:04
- PHP conference of some sort. So dev team doesn't always tell us what they're doing.
29:09
Exactly. So <laugh>, - Our, our first big event will be podcast in January.
29:14
Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>. We're going to London in May.
29:18
We're going to podcast movement evolutions,
29:23
wherever that is. La l Yeah, LA And then we'll be somewhere else.
29:29
I don't know if it's in Vegas or where podcast movement is.
29:33
- I wanna say dc - DC oh maybe it is in dc Mm-Hmm.
29:36
<affirmative>. We are not going to be going to NAB in April, though.
29:40
We're, we're dropping that conference. Just not enough. ROI.
29:43
So I might end up sure about - ATD either.
29:46
- Yeah. I might end up going to NAB myself, I don't know,
29:50
but if it is, it'll be for be personal. It won't be company-wide.
29:53
But other than that, I think we're, and we've had some other query inquiries,
29:58
so if you have an event, let us know. We'd like to potentially participate.
30:03
So I think that brings us, that was a pretty busy year.
30:06
- Yeah, definitely. And, and getting rid of the office I think has helped now
30:12
that, that we're not paying that bill
30:15
for one thing, but that's right. I think now we're getting a lot better at
30:20
collaborating over Zoom and, and other ways
30:24
and hopefully, we'll, we'll still have a in-person meeting every year.
30:27
- Yeah. My question is where are we gonna do it in Mexico
30:31
or where are we gonna do it? Yeah, - Some someplace Nice. Yeah,
30:35
- Someplace - Warm. Either that or we'll go back to the old way
30:38
and do Chicago in the winter. - No, we're not doing that. <laugh>. <laugh>. Okay.
30:44
So that's 2023. Thanks for joining us.
