What is racism? How does it operate, and to what extent is it a problem for all of us? The way my first guest on Politeia sees it, and I agree, is that societies either are racist or they aren’t—there’s no such thing as a not-racist society that has racist people in it. The question for us, then, is how can politics as philosophy help us understand the problem of racism and what can we learn about how to move forward with creating a truly anti-racist society?
