Again, I was bothered by the hosts' speculation, this time on the topic of why Americans under 30 are unhappy. They unquestioningly chalked it up to social media use, which is frustrating, given that there has been some excellent reporting lately about the unusual financial challenges this generation faces that previous generations did not. There was no discussion about the evidence from studies shows about happiness, and no discussion of how all the countries that are happier than us have handled this supposed life-crushing technology differently. Is there no Facebook in Denmark? Ugh.
