If he wins, then I worry deeply

0:03

about how things will be between us

0:05

and Russia, or just in terms of

0:08

Putin's power. Welcome

0:16

to Politicology. I'm Ron Steslow. This is our

0:19

weekly roundup, where we invite a rotating panel

0:21

of experts to discuss the truth you need

0:23

to know behind the most important stories of

0:25

the week and how they are shaping the

0:28

political landscape. Joining me today,

0:30

two of my favorite Politicology guests, Hagar

0:32

Shamali is a former spokesperson for the

0:34

U.S. Mission to the UN and

0:36

the Treasury's Office of Terrorism and Financial

0:39

Intelligence. She also has served as Middle

0:41

East Director at the National Security Council

0:43

in the Obama White House. She's

0:45

an adjunct professor at Columbia University School of International

0:47

and Public Affairs and is

0:49

the host and creator of Oh My World

0:51

on YouTube, a show that breaks down geopolitics

0:54

and world news stories in a fun and

0:56

easy way. Hagar, thank you as always

0:58

for being here. Good morning. Thank you, Ron.

1:00

I always love being on with you. Thanks for having me. And

1:03

returning to the roundup is Zach Jakowski. Zach

1:05

is a Democratic political consultant from North Carolina.

1:08

He is a principal at Title Fight

1:10

and the founder and CEO of Brackish

1:12

Solutions. Previously, he served as campaign manager

1:14

of Katie Hill's successful congressional campaign, where

1:16

he flipped a seat from red to

1:18

blue. And as our political director at

1:20

the Lincoln Project, Zach, welcome back. Ron,

1:22

it's great to be with you. Up

1:24

first this week, the tentpole of

1:27

the Republican effort to impeach Joe

1:29

Biden might just be collapsing after

1:31

a Trump-picked prosecutor indicted one of

1:33

the GOP's central impeachment witnesses for

1:36

his role in a

1:38

Russian psyop. Then we'll

1:40

discuss Donald Trump's looming legal bills,

1:42

his new money-making scheme, and MAGA's

1:44

grotesque comparisons of Trump to the

1:47

late Alexei Navalny, who was

1:49

poisoned, tortured, and just this last week

1:51

probably killed by Vladimir Putin. Later,

1:54

we'll look at the central figures in

1:56

Trumpistan plotting to make Christian nationalism a

1:58

key part of a second Trump administration,

2:00

then we'll find out what other political

2:02

developments are paneling paying attention to and

2:04

why. Finally, for our Politicology

2:07

Plus members, we will

2:09

discuss the Georgia fake electors case,

2:11

the hearing about whether the DA

2:13

Fannie Willis has a legitimate conflict

2:15

of interest, and the huge blunder

2:17

in her relationship with the special

2:19

prosecutor in the case. If you're not

2:21

yet one of our amazing Politicology Plus members, you're missing

2:24

about 30% of the

2:26

episodes we record each week or so.

2:29

So if you want to hear more

2:31

from our brilliant guests, politicology.com/plus is how

2:33

you can get access to everything we

2:35

publish and it's all ad free and

2:52

Okay, there are a couple of

2:54

stories about Russia this week that

2:56

I think highlight just how brazen

2:59

the Putin regime has become lately.

3:01

And I'm thinking about all of this

3:03

as we get into the meat of a presidential election

3:05

and we know Russia continues

3:07

to target us with information warfare. These

3:10

include two of the biggest news stories of the

3:12

week, election of all these murder and the indictment

3:15

of the FBI informant at the heart of

3:17

the Republicans impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

3:19

That's how Jim Jordan described it anyway,

3:22

back in January, Vladimir Putin's

3:24

most prominent domestic critic, Alexei

3:27

Navalny died on Friday. Navalny

3:29

was almost certainly killed for

3:31

his opposition to Putin. Russia's

3:35

federal penitentiary service announced

3:37

that Navalny quote, felt unwell after a

3:39

walk and almost immediately

3:41

lost consciousness. Russia was

3:43

holding the ball knee on bogus charges at a

3:45

penal colony north of the Arctic circle. Even

3:49

if he did die after taking a walk, this

3:51

wasn't some leisurely stroll in a nice late winter,

3:54

early spring day. Putin also tried to have

3:56

Navalny assassinated in 2020. He

3:58

had been held in Russia as a

4:01

political. local prisoner since January twenty twenty

4:03

one. Last Thursday also, Sp I informant

4:05

Alexander Snow Laws was arrested at the

4:08

Las Vegas Airport after getting off an

4:10

international flight. Now. A

4:12

federal court also unsealed see

4:14

to count indictments. Returned.

4:16

By a Federal Grand Jury in California charging

4:19

Smirnoff with making false statements and creating a

4:21

false and fictitious record for statements that were

4:23

part of an official F B I record

4:25

or in what's called a form Ten Twenty

4:28

Three. So this case is

4:30

being brought by Special Counsel David Weiss,

4:32

who was appointed by Donald Trump and

4:34

Us Attorney for Delaware and stayed on

4:36

to lead the investigation into Hunter Biden.

4:38

But the reason why this important because

4:41

Jim Jordan, who's one of the architects

4:43

of the House impeachment agree and Biden

4:45

described that forms and Twenty Three as

4:47

the heart of their case against By.

4:50

The. Indictment alleges that Smear have lied

4:52

to Federal agents when he claims that

4:54

a Ukrainian oil company hired Hunter Biden

4:56

to protect us through his dad from

4:58

all kinds of problems. That's the quotes.

5:00

To just be abundantly clear, these are

5:03

allegations that prosecutors have made an indictment

5:05

discuss hasn't been tried and they haven't

5:07

been proven. In court

5:09

but. This. Trump appointed

5:11

prosecutor. Believes. It beyond

5:13

reasonable doubt and believes that he can

5:16

prove it to Juri beyond reasonable that

5:18

we just talked about the standard for

5:20

indictments Last week's prosecutors also submitted a

5:22

filing on Tuesday seeking to keep Smear

5:24

not in prison until there's a trial

5:27

and and that filing they claim that

5:29

some of the allegedly false information about

5:31

Hundred Biden came from officials associated with

5:33

Russian Intelligence and of these allegations are

5:36

proven in court or smith added mr

5:38

them. It. Would mean that

5:40

several key members of the Republican

5:42

party in Congress including James Comber,

5:44

Jim Jordan Center, to Chuck Grassley

5:46

Ah and also Fox News were

5:48

wittingly or unwittingly participating in a

5:50

Russian disinformation campaign on the American

5:52

people there also see what the

5:55

stories that point how brazen Russia

5:57

has been over the last week.

5:59

On. They Russian authorities announced they

6:01

arrested a Los Angels women who

6:03

was in Russia on treason charges

6:05

putting pardon from Ukraine protests. Outside

6:08

Russia and for sending somebody to

6:10

keep also on Tuesday or Russia

6:12

court. Upheld the detention of Wall

6:14

Street Journal reporter seven risk of it's.

6:17

Ah, and the Us government of course is

6:19

deemed him to be unlawfully detained. You might

6:21

remember the story from of the summer such

6:24

the Russian pilots who defected to Ukraine. Ah,

6:26

And traded his military helicopter. For

6:30

half a million dollars? Well Spanish police officials told

6:32

the New York Times at his body was found

6:34

riddled with bullets in a small resort town. On.

6:36

Spain's Mediterranean. Coast.

6:39

Guard There's a lot of Russia going

6:41

on this week. How? Are. You

6:43

reading all of this together? the brazenness

6:46

of Russia, Hear and feel free to

6:48

dive into any any particular component. That.

6:50

You think is most of them. Yeah.

6:52

You really summed up a lot. It's really

6:54

a week that some. The Seem of

6:57

Russia, Ukraine, in general has taken over. There

7:00

and and as for a number of reasons, you have a

7:02

demeaning. Security Conference Ukraine. Really took

7:04

over and and navan these deaths of course

7:06

and an end when you see this kind

7:08

of behavior so you have a lot your

7:10

the you just summed up. So let me

7:13

let me start. Sixty thousand for a lot

7:15

and. When. You see, and this is

7:17

a rule for all dictators. When you

7:19

see them, Crackdown. Very heavily

7:21

and start to arrest or people the

7:24

team or people kill more people. It's

7:26

because the genuinely feel threatened and insecure.

7:28

And that's not just a talking point,

7:30

it is because they genuinely feel that

7:32

their grip on power to the have

7:35

something to fear and that they are

7:37

losing their grip on power and that's

7:39

when I saw it in of on-out

7:41

like like you said a his killing

7:43

this was a deliberate killings however you

7:45

wanna look at it's even if it

7:47

was a slow imposed death in of

7:49

this penal colonies in the arctic circle

7:51

where we knew that they had very

7:54

severe and brutal attack Six even if

7:56

that's the case I'm it was still.

7:58

A Deliberate. Killings. Whether he

8:00

was poisoned, whatever it might be and as the issue with

8:02

that is at. Present. Potent

8:04

as part where has repeatedly tried to

8:06

crush of ah me. And.

8:10

Every time that has happened every time he has

8:12

when he was poisoned would never trucks two years

8:14

ago and when did and went to Germany in

8:16

a coma. And then recovered

8:18

from it every time he's been imprisoned.

8:20

and he was imprisoned over ten times.

8:22

Every single time that happened, it only

8:24

made his cause louder and it only

8:26

made him more well known. So every.

8:28

Time I tried to crush him, it

8:31

only it enhanced and amplified what he

8:33

was trying to fight for which was

8:35

freedom and democracy. And he was doing

8:37

that by exposing the corruption of the

8:40

of the putting regimes. And so I'm

8:42

a believer that although put his efforts

8:44

in this. Although. His effort

8:46

is to what withers and of only

8:49

or anything else. Whether it's extending the

8:51

detention of of and risk of it's

8:53

or killing it's this to sector and

8:55

Spain I'm arresting this This this woman

8:58

this was a who was a resident

9:00

of Los Angeles as you said and.

9:03

Whichever. Way you look at it it

9:05

it it highlights two things. One that

9:07

he has he stared of this am

9:10

he's scared he's losing his grip on

9:12

power, he feels secure and he needs

9:14

to convey fear in every one. It

9:16

you used instill fear in everyone's hearts

9:18

in his to make them feel afraid

9:20

to speak out to protest or whatever

9:23

it might be and dumb. And you

9:25

saw that action of on his desk

9:27

where so many went to try and

9:29

publicly grief and you had almost four

9:31

hundred who were arrested who. Were laying

9:34

flowers and such who had morals that

9:36

were destroyed and even arrested. A priest

9:38

who were had announced that he was

9:40

planning a memorial service for Nibali. So

9:42

the with you're trying to go to

9:44

every lengthy can to instill fear among

9:46

the people and quash descent completely and

9:49

that ultimately comes from a place of

9:51

insecurity and then the the second thing

9:53

I would just highlight with Avenue Herskovitz

9:55

and and the the ballerina the woman

9:57

from I'm Who Is. It

10:00

was based in a lame that is

10:02

in addition to. Feeling.

10:04

Fear and insecurity states also about

10:06

at. Adding bargaining chips. That

10:09

they can use a potential negotiations and

10:11

again that is something. Part of that

10:13

is how dictators. A lot of dictators.

10:15

The Iranians do this as well. The

10:17

Chinese do this as well. I'm this

10:19

is one of the ways they the

10:21

collective bargaining chips and to give them

10:23

some leverage in any kind of future

10:25

political negotiations. But again a case stems

10:27

from a place weakest because if they

10:29

need these types of hostages in order

10:31

to give themselves power to that elevate

10:33

their position of power in a in

10:35

a potential negotiation. So all of the

10:37

things. Now I'm I'm I didn't dive

10:40

into the Am Alexander sort of part. I'm

10:42

Italy's Zach to that. But. I

10:44

am all of this to me.

10:46

Highlights: He has his fear of

10:49

grip on power. The only thing

10:51

I'd say and on is that

10:53

doesn't necessarily mean he's going to

10:55

fall or collapse any time soon.

10:58

it just means that the threat

11:00

he faces is very real and

11:02

and he's working harder and harder

11:04

to quash that. And it just

11:07

feels as though Russian citizens are

11:09

only growing in their descent and

11:11

and dissatisfaction. With put his regime. So.

11:14

Zoc less harbor the Smirnoff peace

11:16

after twenty sixteen. We

11:18

talked a lot about the Russian

11:21

for Farms and the Clinton and

11:23

Dnc emails getting pushed by wiki

11:25

leaks. I'm. If the deal

11:28

geez, allegations about smeared over true

11:30

and smooth we have a lot

11:32

of reasonably they are although did

11:34

haven't been proven yet. The Russian

11:36

disinformation campaign here has been boosted

11:38

ah, as I said knowingly or

11:40

unknowingly by key committee leaders in

11:42

the house, by a prominent Us

11:44

senator, and on Fox News. So.

11:47

How much harder is it going to be?

11:49

For. The Biden campaign to counter this when

11:52

it has the weight of an Oversight

11:54

committee report. Behind. It and

11:56

now Jim Jordan as downplaying the

11:58

significance of be of the. The

12:00

original document that preserve the center of the

12:02

campaign. How much orders is going

12:04

to be? Yeah. You know, getting

12:06

one place that Obama start here is that and impeachment

12:09

is a big deal Made is by definition supposed to

12:11

be a very very big deal. I want

12:13

to bring back and old phrase trust but

12:15

verify this was the heart Does As Jim

12:18

How Jim Jordan described this testimony the hearts

12:20

of the impeachment case. And. They didn't

12:22

trust, they didn't verify it. It all

12:24

is turning out to be nonsense rights and

12:26

so how significant is that? It shows how

12:29

easily prominent elected officials can be duped or

12:31

or or see or fourth or promote misinformation.

12:33

This information what everyone propaganda, whatever you wanna

12:35

call it. I think we've also disagree. Time

12:38

to talk about the evolution of the Russian

12:40

Disinformation campaign and Twenty sixteen was pretty run.

12:42

a mentoring right. It was advice on everything

12:44

you know and and and boosting staff are

12:47

paid stuff ah that that that serve concept

12:49

of advice and people seeds In Twenty Twenty

12:51

there is much more of an effort. To

12:54

does amplify Americans who were, you know,

12:56

useful idiots parenting Russian talking points. And

12:58

now it's gotten even more advanced and

13:01

it's going to continue to evolve. You.

13:03

Know it's I think. It's hard watching

13:05

our elected officials make such a grievous

13:07

error with such massive national security implications

13:10

and then downplayed the way the Jim

13:12

Jordan Coward doing right now nineteen I

13:14

think. We. Can make a partisan

13:16

and and and in a sense it is. But

13:18

it's just. it's just a sad moment for our

13:21

country. We're supposed to be betting that we deserve

13:23

better from our elected officials. They have made a

13:25

grievous misstep on a serious matter. And

13:28

there's no contrition. There's. No

13:30

admission of wrongdoing. Ah M

13:32

M M there and they're just making out to be. Not a

13:34

big deal, but it is very much a big deal. I want

13:37

to go back to normality for second class. Yeah, I've.

13:39

Been thinking about a couple questions of it has been

13:41

flown around my head about him. In. The

13:43

first one is would I die for My principles.

13:46

Would. I die for my country. Would

13:48

I die slowly for my principles of my country? When

13:50

I die slowly, knowing it also is going to put

13:52

those that I love the most in this world at

13:54

risk for my principles in my country. And I don't

13:57

know the answer. And I'd like to think. If.

13:59

I was in the fuzzy. Like he was that I would do

14:01

the right thing. do the brave thing, the courageous thing side.

14:03

Oh now and and I don't know that I'm ever going

14:05

to know what he did it. And looked

14:08

like everybody is. he perfect smell. Does he

14:10

have flaws? Of course he does. For.

14:12

He is a truly courageous individual and

14:14

I believe that he should be celebrated

14:16

and lauded and we should rally behind

14:18

him because that is the kind of

14:20

courage that brings down a dictator like

14:22

Fidler. Couldn't. Come

14:24

once or but Tucker Carlson in the wake of. Into

14:28

To Access Just like the the

14:30

contrast to who gets the utter

14:32

lack of courage that he exhibits

14:35

and accuracy or hatred of this

14:37

country that exhibits. It really is

14:39

the opposite of the Valley. Yeah.

14:43

I we didn't. Actually, I don't think that

14:45

we talked about we talked about Tucker before,

14:47

you know, before he actually released the interview.

14:49

But I don't think we actually talked about

14:51

the material in the interview itself. Will certainly

14:54

not. Tucker at the grocery store and

14:56

Tucker of the Metro. A

14:58

guard june explain a little bit

15:00

about just how. Much. Of

15:02

a clown he made. As. Himself.

15:05

By. Simplicity: A

15:08

nurse, it's a the interview aside, right?

15:10

and allowing Puente drone on bird you

15:12

know, uninterrupted for so long. The.

15:16

The. Idea. That. Russia

15:18

is this. Sort of advanced

15:20

civilization that puts America to same

15:23

that they're They're metro is like

15:25

the crown jewel of transportation systems

15:27

that the West can't even fathom

15:29

that their grocery stores are sort

15:31

of overflowing with bounty. And oh,

15:33

you can have it all for

15:35

see no under forty dollars and

15:37

your grocery carts. What's

15:40

going on here besides besides soccer? making

15:42

a fool of themselves, What

15:44

is? Actually, Being

15:47

served. Oh how is the Russian

15:50

interesting Served years and. Do

15:52

you wondered we have any evidence to

15:54

in of the points to? may be

15:56

all of this propaganda isn't was sort

15:59

of conditions. On our part

16:01

of the. Part. Of the deal he

16:03

made in order to get access to put in

16:05

in the first place at the Fsb basically shut

16:07

up and suggests I will give you access to

16:09

food and even the no other journalists has been

16:11

able to interview him. But you have to go

16:13

to our metro, you have to go to our

16:15

grocery stores and and sing are praises ah on

16:17

western media. Yeah.

16:19

So first this to me was not.

16:21

An act of journalism in any way, shape or form,

16:23

It was an act as him being

16:25

a vehicle for Russian propaganda and and

16:27

him being ignorant in processed this is

16:29

something that all dictators pursue. It is

16:31

not unique. To the Russian government at

16:34

all. In fact, I remember at before

16:36

or it was really right before the

16:38

talks, the negotiations, With the Iran

16:41

and. Iranian regime had begun. I was

16:43

in government the time and you had a

16:45

couple journalists go to Iran to the rhine

16:47

government invited. One was Robin Wright in the

16:49

other one was in Korea believe but I

16:51

don't wanna and it's such a. That

16:53

and. And it was an embarrassment

16:55

and they came back. To us, I remember Robin Wright

16:57

particular sitting in front of me at Treasury. Telling me

16:59

to your sanctions aren't working and all the

17:01

Iranian government they took us to a Ferrari

17:03

source and there were people they're buying Ferrari

17:05

and those please they can keep the for

17:07

our is there and I'm looking at. Or. And

17:10

I could believe the she believed

17:12

What? Was handed to her and this

17:14

is something that has repeatedly marked in Entertainment

17:16

right there was that movie A done are

17:19

also the name is in. A. State me about

17:21

about North Korea. My god, Where those resource

17:23

yet? the plastic? Yeah. As exact bits

17:25

spear mocking. But that is because they're

17:27

mocking something to. it's a satirical skit,

17:30

they're trying to mark something that happens

17:32

that when these governments invite international journalists.

17:34

it's they have won gold only. And

17:36

it's to whitewash themselves and to make

17:39

themselves look like the perfect society. And.

17:42

Some of that is at some of the

17:44

is because they have policies or or perspectives

17:46

that they want to change cummings in United

17:48

States and some of the is that they

17:50

want to make even their own people's feel

17:53

as though you know you see our society

17:55

is is is always better. it's and then

17:57

is. Why does there is always an interest

17:59

of the. Russian government of the Chinese government

18:01

of the Iranians to interfere in our elections

18:03

and so descent and so decision because speaking

18:05

point to that and then say you see

18:07

what democracy gets you So it gets you

18:09

killings and it gets you crime And it

18:11

gets you just eight people angry at each

18:13

other. Look at our perfect metro and look at

18:15

the bread in the grocery store. So listen,

18:17

every when I was in government we knew

18:20

this. Everybody knew this. Tucker Carlson clearly doesn't

18:22

notice when you go to Russia. Specifically, and

18:24

this is the case for most dictatorships

18:26

for brushes specifically. You're going

18:28

to be followed everywhere. everywhere. there can

18:31

be cameras everywhere there, counter intelligence that

18:33

hundred kills in threat is significant and

18:35

so that guy was followed everywhere he

18:37

went. He was likely given a list

18:39

of items that steamy have touched it

18:42

like oh, you know you should visit

18:44

our match or you should visit our

18:46

grocery store and I'm speculating here on

18:48

this, but. This The fact is

18:50

that. They're. Going to give

18:52

him ideas because they're gonna try and

18:54

steer him as certain way and again

18:57

it's the whole goal of it is

18:59

to make it seem as though I'm

19:01

you all in the Us it's it's

19:03

can say to his base because put

19:05

and saw an opportunity in communicating. To

19:07

Tucker's based in particular, his audience. To

19:10

make them believe. That. Russia's

19:12

in fact good that put in in

19:14

fact good that Russia system is better

19:16

than what we have here we have

19:18

a a city subway system and we

19:20

have an apparently we don't have bread

19:22

and and you know whatever it might

19:24

whatever it might be so in my

19:27

my took across was completely plates but

19:29

it's dangerous is the thing because he

19:31

does have a large base he does

19:33

have a large audience and that that

19:35

audience I use. I've met people who

19:37

love his show and and they will

19:39

tell me all the time. You.

19:41

Know though the. Aids

19:43

Ukraine's to stop the way you all of you put

19:46

in it put isn't. Fair. It's fake news.

19:48

It's this information whereas Tucker's the

19:50

one. Amplifying that disinformation.

19:52

But to it? So while it came

19:54

off as completely grotesque and naive because

19:57

he's. He's praising

19:59

as. Them that he comes off

20:01

a he does. He just doesn't understand.

20:03

He doesn't understand that's half of Russia.

20:05

can't buy the bread that he's. Smelling

20:08

in the grocery store. Most

20:10

of Russia is rural and and

20:12

is they don't have metro systems

20:15

with chandelier. Some. Row there's Plekanec.

20:17

The contract. Rights People are

20:19

afraid to speak out anyway. Even if you were

20:21

to go up to somebody random and and and

20:23

and ask them anything you know, what do you

20:25

think about putting their necks or tell him or

20:27

with I think is horrible. I think he's a

20:29

human rights abusing thought. you know that's not. they're

20:31

not going to do it. So he came off

20:33

to me not only ignorance, And

20:36

and and dick but but dangerously so

20:38

because he is in the middle of

20:40

convincing of of. Parenting

20:42

Russian propaganda to a large base.

20:45

That not only listens but has voting

20:47

power and that this year of of

20:49

have any year that is going to

20:51

play out very very important this year

20:53

when you've got to candidates who is

20:55

going to be the republican nominee very

20:57

likely saying that we should stoppage Ukraine

20:59

and going out there and. Comparing himself

21:02

to election of on the Internet Trump's.

21:04

Sixth, comparing himself, selection of only and

21:06

and pretending like like you know, like

21:08

he has. Like. He could save all

21:10

of us and if he if he wins

21:12

then I worry. Deeply about how

21:14

things will be. Between.

21:16

Us and Russia are just in terms of

21:19

coons power. So. The thing that

21:21

so galling and frustrates me about are one of

21:23

the many things are going for hims me about

21:25

Tucker Carlson is that he's clearly a horrendous journalist.

21:27

He is not a good journalist. There's no metric

21:29

by which people can say yes, he does good

21:31

journals. He just doesn't. However, he's

21:33

a pretty good propagandist. Yeah, you

21:36

look at his tone. You look

21:38

at how he frames things and you know if if

21:40

you think about it for me like wait a second

21:42

like that's insane yell oh every leader kills people and

21:44

that's what I want to be earlier. Like like doubt

21:46

he he makes. He sees these things in a matter

21:49

of fact mayor He presents them as a fair just

21:51

truth. And. Any presents complex issues Very

21:53

simply. they just happen to affirm whatever

21:55

the Russian point of view is over

21:57

and over and over and over again.

22:00

And often times very much run counter to American

22:02

Ashland. Just it's it's definition of propaganda. And.

22:04

He's good at it and I think. Yeah.

22:06

We got to be clear eyed about the fact

22:08

that the guy is pretty talented at been a

22:11

villain. He. Does this another thing I want

22:13

to throw out there to. Have indices

22:15

Kenitzer hammer home. He's a bad journalist.

22:17

In the South where I live in

22:19

North Carolina, there's a sane as free

22:21

com and thank God for Mississippi and

22:23

as saying exists because whatever is bad

22:25

about your state or whatever it's not

22:27

particularly good at, it is worse. In

22:29

Mississippi, Russia as a nation is poorer

22:31

than Mississippi. Of. I

22:34

don't care that one subway station has a

22:36

much as a chandelier and it's like a

22:38

how the why Science Iberia. You know it's

22:41

it's just A.the whole framing is absurd and

22:43

and weekend know that. but he is effectively

22:45

communicating to folks that are that are willing

22:47

to take him seriously because he's just tell

22:50

it like it is. Ah, and and that's

22:52

just gonna be an ongoing struggle this entire

22:54

election because. He's making money

22:56

doing this and they are going to

22:58

be more Tucker Carlson copycat. There be

23:00

more useful idiots for the Russian government

23:02

and and and see of in and

23:05

propaganda machine in that and we gotta

23:07

do something. So. I'm

23:09

a little bit Missouri so lots

23:11

has been said. A lot has

23:13

been said and will be said

23:15

about the know the depravity of

23:17

Tucker Carlson and is sort of

23:19

decline in to you know. Propaganda.

23:22

As I'm I'm. What I'm.

23:24

More. Interested in because I think

23:27

it's more interesting to talk about and

23:29

wonder about and potentially solve is. Why?

23:32

There's. So much. Interest: Why

23:35

there's so much of an

23:37

appeal? For. What Tucker

23:39

is selling in particularly. The

23:42

phrase for Kuittinen the praise for Russia

23:44

among so much of the right. Where.

23:47

I'm. The. Historically we on

23:49

the right have been much more

23:52

hawkish, much more anti Russia. Where

23:54

did all this come from? What

23:56

What do you attribute be the

23:59

appetite for. I'm for

24:01

pro Russia propaganda among.

24:04

Our. As you such as a large audience

24:06

were able to either of you. Really? I'm

24:08

serious Where you think this comes from A

24:10

Because because okay I. I. I

24:12

believe a lot it has to do with

24:14

the with the compelling way that Tucker's able

24:16

to weave sacked with sticks and he does

24:19

it very very well. He's very talented. That

24:21

and and I think he knows exactly what

24:23

he's doing is it is not a true

24:25

believer in a great Russia is I think

24:27

he knows precisely what he's doing. Smarter than

24:29

that, But. I'm just as interested

24:32

in we're This appetite comes from in the

24:34

first place. So. Enough.

24:36

For me at a trying keep things simple

24:38

answer to me the simplest explanation is we

24:40

as a nation have complex problems and a

24:43

there are nuanced solutions and their nuanced issues

24:45

and it's a lot easier to say one

24:47

person can fix it then get into the

24:50

how can we fix it and and a

24:52

democratic system. What? Tucker and what went

24:54

in and that the appeal of Russia to so

24:56

much the country is. It's simple. You. Know

24:58

it is. It is. is it democratic now?

25:01

Is. It something that is of a society that

25:03

I want to live in. know what is

25:05

our the proposed solutions that they the they're

25:07

throwing out there straightforward simply yeah like it's

25:09

it's this is all build the law messaging

25:11

like oh like yeah we're just we're just

25:13

going around up everybody and queen of the

25:16

subways like that's horrible. that's his sister human

25:18

rights violation but that's a solution to have

25:20

a very simple and straight for solution to

25:22

a problem. And so I think the solutions

25:24

that are being proposed are not real but

25:26

I think see appetite. For. Simple fixes

25:28

to complex problems is very, very large right

25:30

now. Yeah.

25:33

I you know I've done a lot of

25:35

thinking about this because I can understand it at

25:37

all he sees. Think about. When.

25:40

Iraq invaded Kuwait. And

25:42

we got involved in that. I remember

25:44

And listen, I was younger, I was

25:46

a kid. But I just remember this

25:49

sense. Across the Nice, in across

25:51

the Us in support of our

25:53

troops, in support of the mission

25:56

and. There. Was nobody who said

25:58

Iraq was right, That. Is that that

26:00

Iraq was the right with where everybody was in

26:02

favor of Kuwait? On this one day, it was

26:04

very clear who was right and who's wrong. In

26:07

this and. So. To see

26:09

this happen. Now. Thirty years

26:11

later, I guess it just I I

26:13

I also cannot. Analyze it. The only thing

26:16

I can figure out when I try to listen

26:18

because I do know some people very few, but

26:20

I do know a handful who are in this

26:22

camp of like leggings who feel. That.

26:25

Did you know the kind of secretly like button.

26:28

Or they are. They're not a secret about. It ah miss

26:30

at the along with the Tucker Carlson can

26:32

like that That perspective and what I can

26:34

analyze from them is that it's a lot

26:36

of it actually stems from not wanting to

26:38

like. The other side. right?

26:41

Don't Ukraine is corrupt, We know and and

26:44

therefore Hunter and Biden and all of them

26:46

are corrupt and and don't believe that the

26:48

democracy arguments you know in a poor poon

26:50

and and then look at the. Russians at

26:52

Russian People and and by the my I mean

26:54

most Russian people are wonderful people for the way

26:57

this has nothing to do with the Russian people.

26:59

And the you know this it that's the only

27:01

thing I can analyze that's not. You know this

27:03

not make cities max which is more the foreign

27:05

policy. Side of things but I I find that

27:07

the more you try to communicate to them like

27:09

due to understand why we're supporting Ukraine Dodgers in

27:12

this is the deal of the centuries they're fighting

27:14

for democracy. Would you don't see what happens if

27:16

put wins and then. He. Moves or whether Jones

27:18

and and They Don't still don't understand what

27:20

that means. No. Doesn't have been pains

27:22

after that. That is it did. It Is

27:24

this that the argument has and. We.

27:27

Have lost the plot. Between.

27:29

Public the difference between the United States

27:31

and Russia? I don't think most of

27:33

these people. Could articulate the

27:36

difference in ideologies in world

27:38

views in in global interests

27:40

between United States and Russia.

27:42

There. Was a difference. Honestly,

27:45

I don't think they understand what happens if

27:47

Russia wins. Suit. Two things

27:49

one we added a search show and

27:51

rocky for on every single network television

27:53

station till en el simplifying clarify things

27:55

folks are ready for actually lays out.

27:58

Quite. A bit of have to differences. Pretty likely

28:00

that is a piece of positive propaganda. by the

28:02

way. I'm half getting the like and when she

28:04

was rocky for ah it it lays out nicely.

28:06

Another thing that they have me. Over this past

28:08

weekend I had a conversation to friend of mine.

28:11

Republican. Guy. Ah yeah, kind

28:13

of leans Trump doesn't love him but but

28:15

his cat is terrified of by age. And

28:17

he says that we the really caught me off

28:20

guard that I couldn't disagree with more, but that

28:22

was helpful to years prospective. He said listen, Trump

28:24

is in Alpha. Bidens. Not who tons

28:26

in alpha, he wants your world leaders to be

28:28

an alpha and I was here that like nearly

28:30

what he sang like you kinda have to still

28:32

these complicated things into oh you just one alpha

28:34

in charge and also like metal think the Bruton

28:36

is but it's of the looking to meet later.

28:39

I think it helps me understand

28:41

the perspective though. Of have some the

28:43

folks on the other side like. The. Reasons don't

28:45

make sense to me. But they. Make

28:47

sense to them and I don't know how we

28:49

persuade them, how we bring them back, How he

28:51

introduced new piece information to change their minds. but

28:53

like. A we had a long conversation.

28:55

At the end of it he said, i want an

28:57

alpha. And like in there is nothing I

28:59

can say to change his mind. Pluto.

29:05

As he is definitely not

30:02

looking for ah for completion to that

30:04

that the wig out it that you

30:06

pull off so so so so successfully.

30:09

I already posted a satirical skates

30:11

on on this because it was

30:13

like a gift to as a

30:15

political satirist. I'm you know

30:17

when I heard this news as monday

30:19

morning I heard it's and I was

30:21

listening to the radio and as secrete

30:24

what we can agree winds up to

30:26

date tonight actually hear that he did

30:28

this and you know? So here's the

30:30

thing on the sneakers and met. He

30:33

he he. Presented it as Sneaker

30:35

Kahn which is weird in and of

30:37

itself because Sneaker Khan is about

30:39

sneaker culture and street where and and

30:42

trading rarer shoes and and so

30:44

and. Apparently and there

30:46

is a fight going on over social media us

30:48

as to how many people booed and how many

30:50

to was serious and I cannot and they're all

30:52

in my seat and I asked after posting my

30:54

my skin and I just can't deal with it

30:57

anymore because most the press said that the majority

30:59

booed but some seared. but anyway. So.

31:01

You will have this out. But you know

31:03

what? the joke is on us. Because he

31:06

sold out of his sneakers. he saw that

31:08

a bit. He had a thousand pairs and

31:10

there are others apparently or two others. I'm

31:12

not. Sure if you earn more to other gather two

31:14

kinds other kind that you can you could buy one is

31:16

white ones read your heinous. All of a desert for those

31:18

chalky thing I've ever seen the look like the came out

31:20

of M C Hammer closet. And I just

31:22

put bridge and and even sold one pair

31:25

for nine thousand dollars because they were autographed

31:27

by. So that's why you know in one

31:29

part like I'd we can make fun of

31:31

this for the joke is on as the

31:33

men will continue coming up with merchandise that

31:35

that seems to fi office else am. I

31:37

just found it funny because and this is

31:39

the skit I ended up doing was that

31:41

let you know I just don't view Trump

31:43

is like a sneaker wearing promoting kind of

31:45

guy and and. So are you imagine him walking

31:48

around stomping around at a pair of these things?

31:50

He looks like such a clown. Even more so.

31:52

I mean you're ready. Looks like a clown with

31:54

this is a foot split railway me as a

31:56

lot of orange trees seen as it is beds

31:58

but some but I you know. Different I've

32:00

listed I ended up doing was making fun

32:02

of him working out. And as a lot

32:04

of know, stamina to work. Out right clicks

32:06

and your check I related by blood.

32:09

But he had that with. You know he will

32:12

do any. The guy will do anything for bucks.

32:14

This is how it appears. but the thing is

32:16

it works just as a base. It's like Jimmy

32:18

those. Shoes. Is

32:20

what are we going to do? I'm a

32:22

biochemist that billionaire how kinda little penis size

32:24

of any believes that use a time of

32:27

year billion of has to do right like

32:29

it works every time, people by it every

32:31

time and like. But. It wasn't that

32:33

many shoes. If couldn't have been too much

32:36

money, he supposed to be a billionaire. He

32:38

probably made a couple hundred grand. Like you

32:40

think about what percentage of his net worth

32:42

in theory that should be and it's like

32:44

it doesn't make sense right at now. Sale.

32:47

He's probably fledged what is now worth is but

32:49

it just yelled. I'd maybe he's in

32:51

a cast cause I don't overheat. It's just

32:53

the brokenness of his actions. blows my mind

32:55

sometimes. So. About

32:58

that cast crimes. Ah, the launch

33:00

was just a day after the

33:02

judge presiding over his a Civil

33:04

Business Fraud trial in New York

33:06

State ordered from. His. Sons businesses,

33:09

he's a company, etc to pay

33:11

over three hundred and fifty four

33:13

million dollars in damages. Ah,

33:16

And also not do business in the Or

33:18

for like three years. Our nearest Attorney General

33:20

of the Just James said that if you

33:22

include the interest the totals over four hundred

33:25

and fifty million dollars of which is a

33:27

considerable amount of money even for a billionaire.

33:29

and I think late assessments are the his

33:31

were somewhere around two billion dollars and not

33:34

allowed as liquid. So ah, cash crunch indeed.

33:37

Some called the ruling a fine of

33:39

three hundred fifty million dollars for doing

33:41

a perfect job. The latest financial hit.

33:43

Ah, Is in addition to the

33:46

mass of words obviously in the Eating

33:48

Cereal defamation case where his old pay

33:50

over eighty million dollars so the

33:52

legal bills are putting a pretty big

33:55

screen. Ah so as Pac Money at

33:57

the Leadership Pac from Save America

33:59

Raised. Eighty five hundred

34:01

dollars And january. While

34:03

spending four million. According to

34:05

their most recent Ftc filings, in

34:07

about three quarters of that went

34:09

to paying lawyers. Ah, so over

34:11

the last year, Trump's political apparatus

34:13

is now spent more than fifty

34:15

million dollars just on legal costs,

34:17

while the Dnc and Biden. Have

34:21

a huge fundraising ads buds! Relaxing team

34:23

has one hundred thirty million dollars in

34:25

the bank. and that's including forty two

34:27

million dollars to just freeze in January.

34:29

Ah, so. Ah, we should say during

34:32

his Fox News interview with Or ingram. Trump.

34:34

Was asked how he was going to pay these bills.

34:37

Here's that explains. How are you

34:39

put up that kind of money? Because if a

34:41

bomb to put up even if if you appeal,

34:43

you gotta put up escrow money. That's. Ah

34:45

as that's a lot. Of a lot of

34:48

now form of know valley. Either.

34:50

Doonan of Only Trump isn't the

34:52

only person liking himself. Ton of

34:55

only it's now coming from figures

34:57

like Dentist Souza ends Newt Gingrich.

35:00

Jonah Goldberg wrote for The Dispatch about

35:02

how these comparisons between Trump and of

35:04

Only so the moral rot in parts

35:07

of the American right. Jonah notes that

35:09

there's this false notion the Joe Biden

35:11

is the moral equivalence of Vladimir Putin,

35:13

and it's mean of slanderous, not just

35:16

a bind, but of America itself. There's

35:18

a clip also from Liz Cheney. When.

35:20

She was on the view talking about. How

35:23

there's some Republicans who want to paint Biden

35:25

as worse than Trump? Here's what she said:

35:28

The Countdown advisors they Trump: Would

35:30

you vote for Biden? I'm I'm

35:32

not gonna endorse anybody today spam

35:34

and I think that and again

35:37

we don't know exactly what the

35:39

twice will be. I would say

35:41

that I will never vote for

35:44

Donald Trump. And there. Are

35:51

some conservatives who are trying to make

35:53

this claim that somehow Biden is a

35:55

bigger risk than some? My view is

35:57

I disagree with a lot of turbines.

36:00

Yeah, we can survive bad outing raising.

36:02

We cannot survive rise watching the capacity.

36:04

That's right, not even. So.

36:08

First, a hug or would you make

36:10

of the trump? Know only Biden couldn't

36:13

comparisons and know This goes back to

36:15

our first segment. Of, but I

36:17

wanted cheese that out a little bit more and

36:19

then zoc. I'm curious about. How

36:21

you Hearst seats to if you are

36:23

looking at a presidential campaign with these

36:25

fundraising numbers and these houses expenditures. Ah,

36:27

what would you be thinking? Got it?

36:29

Or. So

36:31

listen, aside from it being

36:33

incredibly offensive, and it's kind

36:36

of poser behavior, because it's

36:38

almost like when you know

36:41

when. When when? Something.

36:43

Is trending. And you're gonna get

36:45

on that bandwagon. My, you do a video on Taylor

36:47

Swift. not that has ever done that before. Media has

36:49

will you do a video Until. Assess because you know

36:51

it's just going to operate so else can get so

36:53

me views because everybody's talking about house with that hashtag.

36:56

Gonna go crazy and that's how it

36:58

came off to me. Aside from the

37:00

fact that is is blatantly offensive ah

37:02

miss and and. You know

37:04

it's hard to say, but I would imagine that there's. Maybe.

37:07

Actually genders genuine belief that the actually

37:09

genuinely seats impair since you know will

37:12

give the match but it's it's it's

37:14

a sensitive on his legacy. Will.

37:16

Have a I just say yeah Ron

37:18

Go! Ah, you mention the Jonah Goldberg

37:20

piece of else. more a yacht. Or

37:23

yeah about that, the valley comparisons. and clearly

37:25

that as an example of it's it's also

37:27

an example of intellectual rot because there's some

37:29

dumb that is like one of the dumbest

37:31

can be like most ridiculous. Like. Dishonest.

37:34

Comparisons I can possibly imagine Know Valley

37:36

was in a prison camp in the

37:38

Arctic north of the Arctic. Trump

37:41

lives in country clubs, in luxury

37:43

apartment buildings, and is a Billionaire

37:46

like that is an absurd, deeply

37:48

offensive, morally bankrupt conclusion to reach.

37:50

And it's also just pretty dumb.

37:53

And so I say I want to start their. Beyond.

37:57

That here's a stat that I just want to share with

37:59

the All About. There isn't one of

38:01

those articles. The Trump valued Mara Lago, for

38:03

example, at between four hundred and twenty

38:05

six million. Six hundred and Twelve million dollars.

38:08

The palm. Beach Tax or answer values

38:10

at a between eighteen and twenty seven

38:12

million dollars. That. Is a

38:15

significant gap. I think it's safe

38:17

to say and the judge point

38:19

this out. There is no contrition,

38:21

there is no remorse from Trump,

38:23

his team, his kids, whatever. And

38:26

like, just think about those numbers: Eighteen

38:28

to twenty seven million Tax Assessor Four

38:31

Hundred and Twenty Six million, Six Hundred

38:33

and Twelve million Trump Organisation like That

38:35

is such an enormous gap that somebody

38:37

has to be wrong and a court

38:39

of law has ruled that is in

38:42

fact the Trump Organisation and Trump. And.

38:44

It just makes me sad. Said. Somebody

38:46

can look at that and think else on a

38:48

big deal because that is the moral rot that

38:51

that the Jonah Goldberg was talking about and I

38:53

think you know to to go along with moral

38:55

right there has to be in the last for

38:57

up to. Or

39:01

it. so. We've talked a good amount on

39:03

the so recently about the christian groups who

39:05

are. Willing to sacrifice

39:07

democratic norms like free elections. Up.

39:10

On the altar of their political

39:12

outcomes and in two of the

39:14

more wide ranging long from discussions

39:16

I've had about this so far

39:18

we have talked about. Why?

39:21

This ubiquitous term christian nationalism

39:23

maybe isn't the most useful

39:25

to describe what's happening, but.

39:28

That's. Precisely the term Trump's clerics

39:30

are using as they prepare for

39:33

potential second ministries. And there's a

39:35

think tank called the Center for

39:37

Renewing America that's preparing to in

39:40

his their words infuse Christian nationalist

39:42

ideas in a Trump administration if

39:44

he returns to power. And in

39:46

one documents, the Cia listed Christian

39:49

nationalism. In a bullet, a

39:51

list of top priorities in a

39:53

second from term, they also listed

39:55

invoking the Insurrection act on day

39:57

One to quash any protests and.

40:00

Refusing to spend authorize congressional funds if the

40:02

President doesn't like the project, which by the

40:04

way was a tactic that we banned a

40:06

long time ago way back in the Nixon

40:09

era. The effort is being led by the

40:11

guy named Russell Vaught, who was the Director

40:13

of the Office of Management and Budget on

40:15

Be during Trump's first term. Is

40:18

also reportedly a potential Chief of Staff

40:20

picks in a second Trump White House

40:22

is not a friend's figure in the

40:24

Republican party's been pretty high up and

40:26

Trump world according to one person who

40:28

spoke with politico, vought and from speak

40:31

at least once a month and bought

40:33

is hopeful that Trump will elevate Christened

40:35

nationalism to be focal point in the

40:37

second term are under his plans. freedom

40:39

of religion would remain a protected right.

40:41

But. They use their been a stray

40:44

some positions to promote christian doctrine and

40:46

imbue public policy with it's just As

40:48

An example of Vought has proposed in

40:51

Immigration Agenda arguing that whether a person

40:53

has quote. Accepted Israel's

40:55

god laws and understanding

40:57

of history. And. Quote. Should.

41:00

Determine whether they can immigrate to

41:02

the U S. What has a

41:05

close affiliation with former Trump administration

41:07

of is a William Wolf. According

41:09

to politico, Ah Wolf has advocated

41:11

for overturning same sex marriage and

41:13

reducing access to contraceptives. He's also

41:15

called for ending surrogacy and no

41:18

fault divorce. He once

41:20

wrote on x Christians should reject

41:22

a priceless conservatism and demand the

41:24

political movement we are most closely

41:26

associated with. Make a return to

41:29

Christ centered foundations. Because.

41:31

It's either Christ or chaos. Even

41:34

on the right, which was. Reminiscent

41:37

of a sign I saw during the

41:39

January Six insurrection. the said Jesus or

41:41

hellfire. Of all these policies they're pushing.

41:44

I sing. Or

41:46

a reaction. To

41:48

the more radical pieces of the

41:50

of of culture on the left,

41:52

and this cycle of secular revolutions

41:54

and religious counterrevolution was a big

41:56

part of one of these two

41:58

part conversations I had. Was reasonably

42:00

David Gassy that we just released last week

42:02

and in that conversation. Gushy. Talked

42:05

about. What? This

42:07

is a reaction to listen to his works. Now.

42:10

The way that the kid the christian right

42:12

used to say it was what they were

42:15

against was liberalizing trends in the area for

42:17

unquote family values. Sachs.

42:19

Abortion Marriage. Feminism.

42:23

But. I think plenty of scholarship as

42:26

well as plenty of evidence in front of

42:28

us shows us that. Wasn't. Just

42:30

that it was also this road negative

42:32

reaction against. Other the

42:34

ethnic. Ethnic

42:37

pluralizing of America through immigration. Arm.

42:40

Against Intermarriage Against the Civil Rights movement

42:42

and or least some aspects of the

42:45

Civil Rights movement are as consequences. Against

42:47

our immigration from global south countries.

42:50

Also, one should also not forget the supreme

42:53

court decisions that. Tightened. The

42:55

application of the Separation of Church and State. Like.

42:58

The Prayer in Schools decision. That was where people

43:00

first started freaking out. Nineteen Sixty Two. So

43:03

take the church. state separation ism stuff

43:05

as one part. Of

43:07

Civil Rights movement as another part Immigration

43:10

changes as another part. Sexual.

43:12

Revolution as another part. On.

43:15

Abortion. First. Control.

43:18

Okay, Enough to church, community, the fence. All of

43:20

that. Are feals if it, whether or

43:22

not going to say it of all of that.

43:25

Is. Wrong. But. All

43:27

of that made America worse. Not.

43:29

Better. So. Reactionary.

43:33

A reactionary posture towards modern social

43:35

changes. Combined. With an

43:37

authoritarian religiosity That says, We.

43:40

Already know what's right. It's dictated to us

43:42

and by the church or by the bible.

43:45

This is a allright rebellion against what's

43:47

right. We. Must push back.

43:51

Zoc. I want to start with you. I'm. Very

43:54

curious to. don't think you

43:56

have talked a ton about

43:58

this of how you. Read.

44:01

This. Would have a whether you want to call it. A.

44:04

Christian Nationalism Christian Supremacy or

44:06

David gases term which I.

44:09

Have I think it so far

44:11

for me is the most useful

44:13

authoritarian reactionary. Christianity.

44:15

How you read this developments.

44:19

On on the right, And.

44:22

Maybe more specific question is about the

44:24

way political media covers it. One of

44:27

the things I remember talk with that

44:29

he taylor about a while back as

44:31

couple committee don't really have the knowledge.

44:34

Ah, to distinguish between run of

44:36

the mill christianity and this mutant

44:38

strain. That. Believes it has a

44:40

divine mandy to seek political power and

44:42

domination over American culture and loss. Democracy

44:44

be damned if it gets in the

44:46

way of and as a consequence is

44:48

flattening. In. Our mainstream information

44:51

world of Christianity. Of

44:53

leaves People maybe not as alarmed

44:55

as they. Ought. To be

44:57

about the prospects of. Of.

45:01

This entering. The.

45:03

Republican party's sort of. Mandy.

45:06

If they win again, how are you think

45:09

about. This. Yeah. You know outside. I

45:11

think about this in the context of we

45:13

had a lot of religious revivals for which

45:15

way things over the history of of this

45:17

country rights and so the pendulum Always it's

45:19

it's swing in one where the other glass

45:21

you know, couple decades and maybe maybe beyond

45:23

that it has swung towards more socially progressive,

45:25

more socially liberal. I think personally that's a

45:27

good thing. I'd a very much disagree with

45:29

the stance of of of as some of

45:32

us are talking about here but there is

45:34

now a multibillion dollar efforts make the pendulum

45:36

swing back right? The great example of that.

45:38

Sand. It's not all gonna be. You

45:40

know, can have the christian nationalism like

45:42

overt messaging. It's gonna be stuff like

45:44

the He Gets Us commercial during the

45:47

Superbowl. Price is trying to rebrand Jesus

45:49

to bring more people into the fold.

45:51

Ah you know it's getting it's a It's

45:53

a multi faceted effort and I think it

45:55

is hard for the media and I think

45:58

maybe just the you in mind. I

46:00

understand the full scope of what is

46:02

happening right now. How many different organizations

46:04

or art or funding things to to

46:07

promote this policy agenda? How me different

46:09

groups have been created since the first

46:11

Trump's assistant the Trump Administration How many

46:14

people are actively working. To. Advance

46:16

the cause that they believe in deeply

46:18

he is. It's important understand the psychology

46:20

of some. The first are involved in

46:22

this movement. They don't adhere to the

46:24

quote laws of man They believe they

46:26

are. They believe they are taking their

46:28

orders from a higher power that supersedes

46:30

laws of this land that supercede blah

46:32

the Us government. And that's a pretty

46:34

frightening starting place to me. I

46:36

think that would agree with what I. What?

46:39

I fear. Is that it

46:41

will seem as if this is just the

46:43

normal and of default stance. But this is

46:45

not normal right? You know you These you

46:47

look at at who the leaders of these

46:50

organizations are in the policies are promoting Nisei

46:52

Methodism. You know. This. Now, Presbyterians

46:54

it is. It's It's often

46:56

times, folks that are involved

46:58

in unaffiliated Southern Baptist churches

47:00

they, they're They're. They're.

47:03

Not beholden to structures they're There are

47:05

fewer checks and balances, only sing sales

47:07

their third dark money organizations. They're not

47:10

for profits. it is the web When

47:12

you look at the totality of it.

47:15

It is Massive. It is everywhere it

47:17

is in every city, is in every

47:19

state. It's in every zip code. Ah,

47:21

and I think it's important to point

47:24

this out. The. Folks that

47:26

are the most adamant pushing policy that

47:28

I find the a horrifying. They.

47:30

Believe that they are doing righteous good

47:33

work now do we think that know?

47:35

But they believe their on the side

47:37

of the righteous and that is incredibly

47:39

difficult to combat. And I think it's

47:42

important that we are paying suicidally and

47:44

and and in en masse attention. To.

47:46

The policy to talk about: don't hear

47:48

something crazy and say oh, that's crazy,

47:50

whatever And and and move on when

47:52

you hear something that frightens you like

47:54

We're going to ban birth control which

47:56

is a very popular talking for a

47:59

now amongst the. Right and particularly

48:01

with in this sub group. Listen to

48:03

them. Take them seriously. I forget who

48:05

it was there is. There's a writer

48:07

that once in the Atlantic recently said

48:09

everybody every American should attend one Trump

48:11

rally. I think not is the in

48:13

and when Trump rally everyone should go

48:16

to a you know an evangelical mega

48:18

church. Before the election you will be

48:20

shocked at what you hear from the

48:22

pulpit which and by the way these

48:24

are not for profit status and so

48:26

they're not paying taxes and whether you

48:28

and I are, that's. Another story for another

48:30

day, but I think. The line

48:33

between the religious and political it has

48:35

just gotten blurred. It is being crossed

48:37

repeatedly and we're going to see more

48:39

folks like Mike Johnson. they're gonna. They're

48:42

going to further erode. Those lines are

48:44

further crosses lines because that's not a

48:46

bug. That's the goal. Yes,

48:49

And she mentions my Johnson. I just want

48:51

to the politicos now reporting He delivered a

48:54

presentation. At weekends republican retreat

48:56

that was supposed to be about

48:58

a map to keeping the majority

49:00

but ended up turning into a

49:02

sermon. And. People in the

49:04

room said that Johnson was discussing

49:07

the moral decline of America and

49:09

particularly focusing on declining church membership.

49:12

And. The nation's. Shrinking

49:14

religious identity. This and

49:16

and you know early we were talking

49:18

about this guy who might come be

49:20

Trump's new Chief of Staff. Trump's Not.

49:23

You know, anywhere close to winning at this point, not

49:25

in power? My chosen as the Speaker the House. Was

49:28

just remember he's in power now. So.

49:32

A guard. This isn't just happening here.

49:34

It's happening. All. Over the world's.

49:37

I'm. Specifically in Poland.

49:39

And Russia. In. Hungary in

49:41

Brazil. Of. It

49:44

probably other places I'm not naming. Of.

49:47

Italy. One

49:49

of the things I sounds so

49:52

useful. I'm. From.

49:54

Might companies with David and and and

49:56

his sort of. Outlining of

49:59

how these. These. Secular

50:01

revolutions, and then religious

50:03

counterrevolution tends to push

50:06

and pull. Throughout. History.

50:09

Was. Sort. Of placing

50:11

us in that historical cycle. right?

50:14

Now so when you look around the

50:16

globe. At Robison

50:18

recognizing that that's this trend in

50:20

America, we're not alone. What?

50:24

Does this? Sort

50:26

of. Foretells for for

50:28

where we're headed. and maybe you

50:31

can talk about some the similarities

50:33

you see between an. Authoritarian

50:36

figures. On. The Right in

50:38

the United States, and the leaders in

50:40

these other countries who have figured out

50:43

a way to weaponize. Ah,

50:45

reactionary christianity. Out.

50:47

For for their own political ends. You.

50:50

Know it's like you to the thoughts

50:52

that of my Adam my mind as

50:55

as both you and Zoc were speaking

50:57

it's on. This is a trend that

50:59

rising ah around the world particularly like

51:01

you said in in in parts of

51:04

Europe and and am Eastern Europe and

51:06

the. The new give

51:08

you I went and it's scary right when you

51:10

talk when you shared the clip that you had.

51:12

My first thought was will we have sufficient frequencies

51:14

discuss? How could this even be a threat Like

51:16

the have a system of checks and balances and

51:18

courts to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

51:21

But is that the thing is. That.

51:23

What We say. You could say that

51:25

about anything. I really genuinely never thought

51:28

we would see Roe V Wade read

51:30

being overturned. I

51:32

don't think any of us could

51:34

have foreseen that. when Sarah Palin

51:37

took the stage with Mccain, it

51:39

suddenly. That's the direction the

51:41

Republican party would go in, you know? So

51:43

the it's so it's so easy to dismiss

51:45

these things is easy for me to dismiss

51:47

it. but but it is a scary trend

51:50

that we have to pay attention to and

51:52

I'm I'm going to highlight a story to

51:54

that just happened in in Hungary particular by

51:56

the way. another area that Tucker Carlson is

51:59

in love with particularly their Prime minister Viktor

52:01

Orban, who is an. Well.

52:03

Elected but has authoritarian tendencies of society

52:05

at it's the best way for me.

52:07

Dead and increasingly authoritarian guy. and he

52:10

just had a scandal major scandal in

52:12

in Hungary that's tied to this whole

52:14

idea of what they call. Concert:

52:16

Christian Conservative. Family Values and they

52:18

have used that Viktor Orb on the

52:21

premise or has used as a very

52:23

big part of his campaign am and

52:25

pillar of his he had of his

52:27

political party that is allowed him and

52:30

he has used it to. Justify

52:32

restrictions yes placed on the Gay

52:35

and transgender community by labeling them

52:37

as am liebling this community as

52:40

involved in that ophelia and and

52:42

do and putting these restrictions in

52:44

the name. Of quote, protecting children

52:47

again for this conservative Christian family

52:49

values and when all of it

52:51

really is just an anti Lgbtq

52:53

plus agenda. And ah, so.

52:56

Now. You had his president.

52:58

The Hungary's President pardoned

53:00

an individual who. Who.

53:03

Had been engaged in a cover up. Of

53:06

a sex abuse scandal at

53:08

an orphanage. The man was

53:10

convicted. Of covering up the sex abuse

53:12

that was being that was taken place For

53:14

his director this is the deputy director. And

53:17

the President Pardon him. The Hungarian President

53:19

secretly pardoned him last year and the

53:21

Justice Minister signed off on it and

53:24

so on. And now. fast forwarded beginning

53:26

of this year, This information came to

53:28

light publicly somehow and has outraged Hungarians

53:30

and fifty thousand of them hit the

53:32

streets over the weekend in Budapest to

53:35

protest against the government. a country that

53:37

they don't have focus of this kind

53:39

usually. Someone of the largest protests? Instantly

53:41

anti government protests. You. Seats Calling out

53:44

the government's apocryphal saying You know

53:46

you say that your family family

53:48

values that are Christian Conservative Family

53:50

values that you're all about protecting

53:52

children and your you've gone and

53:54

part in this guy who was

53:57

covering up sex abuse at an

53:59

orphanage. And so

54:01

this. You. Know the thing that I

54:03

so when I saw this news. I

54:06

saw he and and you had

54:08

at the same time you had

54:10

what happens to Next Benedict A

54:13

Binary. A non binary teenager

54:15

in Oklahoma. They

54:17

were beaten up yeah to

54:19

death in a bathroom in

54:21

their school. and. And.

54:23

That stemmed from this.

54:26

Dangerous. Rhetoric.

54:28

And campaigns that.

54:31

Are shrouded in this. At

54:33

as though it's meant to be. Family

54:36

First, Family values, Christian

54:38

values, and so on.

54:40

When actually it's either.

54:43

I'm it's it's anti

54:45

Lgbtq. Edgy Human Rights Anti Women's Am

54:47

anti. It's certainly racist in of you name

54:49

it on the list goes on and what

54:51

I find is and this guy said that

54:54

from the from the thing that you said

54:56

in this is the case all. Over

54:58

the world these movements are

55:00

usually a reaction. To something

55:02

that's happening. Something that happens. the pendulum

55:04

swings the other right and I wanna

55:06

say that it's not. That. This

55:08

is not the majority of people and it isn't the majority

55:10

The people. We know that like you said, it was a

55:12

mutant strain. But it's terrifying

55:14

when they have the ear of

55:17

the secret the house of somebody

55:19

running for president and when you

55:21

see not only growing across the

55:23

world Italy has taken very scary

55:25

movie Hungary, Poland I would say

55:27

yes Poland except pull and swung

55:30

back. they have in their least

55:32

election. It. Was a win for

55:34

democracy and I'm and the individuals one

55:36

will hopefully walk back the steps. They

55:38

talk to the steps the previous guy

55:41

took to walk back. Rights for Women

55:43

and Rights of Lgbt Community So you

55:45

know you do have that but it's

55:47

something you can't eat. You have to

55:49

keep your eye on the ball because

55:51

it seems like a mutant strain. Like

55:54

you said that you can stream could

55:56

become. You. Know: a widespread

55:58

pandemics. The. Gods. The.

56:00

So. All. Fantastic point. I

56:02

want to go back to something rounded

56:04

The you said it's as beginning of

56:06

this topic in know what my favorite

56:08

things the whatever mon is ask one

56:11

question have you found a very serious

56:13

which recipe. You. Use it's

56:15

will word clerics to describe awesome. The folks

56:17

in the Trump Orbit I have a guess

56:19

as to why is that, but I'd really

56:21

like to know. Why? That that

56:24

felt intentional. What's the why they're why do you them

56:26

as clerics? And what does that mean to you? Who

56:29

was intentional? I'm a. When

56:32

I was editing the brief, I. Wrote

56:35

clerics. Because

56:37

to me this

56:40

mutant strain is

56:42

a of fundamentalists

56:44

sort of. Ah

56:48

Kong Quest for. Power.

56:50

That doesn't really have anything to do

56:53

with the roots of the. Seas.

56:55

I'm. They. Are tourists

56:58

in a way? Of.

57:00

And so when I say mutant strain,

57:02

I want to be very careful. I'm.

57:05

I'm no, we're not talking about all of

57:07

christianity. This particular and in

57:10

in in make Johnson's case. He

57:13

has a appeal to Heaven flag

57:15

hanging outside of his. Ah

57:17

door And if you don't

57:19

know what an appeal to

57:21

for haven't Flag is Ah,

57:24

It comes out of the

57:26

independent charismatic movements of that

57:28

was speaking in tongues and

57:30

praying against the demons. that

57:32

word literally occupying the Us

57:34

Capitol of on January Sixth

57:36

they were. They're doing strategic

57:38

spiritual warfare because they believe

57:40

that the geographical location was

57:42

occupied by a demon that

57:44

they needed to vanquish. When

57:46

you're. In a battle. Ah

57:49

where he believes that do

57:51

it in in literal demons

57:54

of. Then. Did

57:56

you end up in very extreme version

57:58

of their justifying a nearly. Anything So

58:00

I think clerics because I think it

58:02

invokes a. It. Invokes a.

58:05

Visceral. Response.

58:09

To the ways religion has been used.

58:11

To. Justify horrible,

58:13

horrible things. I'm

58:16

ah, so that's why I picked the

58:18

word. Know. That that that said. So and

58:20

thing I think. Iran we. I

58:22

don't know if it's if that helps to

58:24

keep Remi talkers. We both grew up in

58:26

churches. That word yeah somewhere in in that

58:28

kind of evangelical and and handle realm right.

58:30

And I think it's important and least least

58:32

for me. Talk about how different what we're

58:34

seeing today is in when I was a

58:36

kid. Growing up in here are some church

58:38

as well as a kid that they're They're

58:40

deathly. Some socially conservative things that were said,

58:42

they were definitely yeah, traditional gender roles and

58:44

and and some things like that were enforced.

58:47

But. There wasn't the same desire.

58:50

To. Go out into the world and impose these

58:52

about right? See were values that were held

58:54

virally. There was guys that oftentimes I didn't

58:56

agree with an Inspired Away By have Left

58:58

The Church Ultimately. But. There

59:00

wasn't this desire to dominate. There.

59:03

Wasn't this desire? Ah

59:05

said to change the laws of the land.

59:07

People just kind of wanted to adhere to

59:09

this shared set of values they had. and

59:11

maybe the church that I grew up in

59:13

was not the norm. Maybe maybe to spend

59:15

the norm, but it's certainly doesn't seem like

59:17

that's me. I think this is it. And

59:19

a new. Set. Of developments. In

59:22

it absolutely is. We prayed for

59:24

our leaders, we did not try

59:26

to. Install them in

59:28

Wales and we prayed for the

59:30

people that slice that's right in

59:32

boss room we're who are slightly

59:34

didn't go after them we didn't

59:36

and dem them we prayed for

59:39

that yeah have and like that

59:41

psychological shift can not be good.

59:43

It's. Me and I think that is one

59:45

of the best tenants of of yeah

59:47

mate most major world religions have like

59:49

pray for those you don't like, love

59:52

your enemies hurries Yeah, encourage those you

59:54

don't like. Said. Yeah, talk

59:56

to them and personally better versions

59:58

themselves like that's a great. Look,

1:00:00

I think whether you believe the senator, the road

1:00:02

you're not having all of us can draw from

1:00:04

that. You know if if somebody is a Trump

1:00:06

supporter. I don't agree with some. I wish them

1:00:08

well. I hope that their okay. That. Doesn't

1:00:10

have to be religious thing but that psychological

1:00:13

shifts. if you are not lockstep with us

1:00:15

you are bad. You are. You know you

1:00:17

are going to hell for sure. Like all

1:00:19

that stuff is is not good set for

1:00:21

the psyche. It also. I feel

1:00:23

almost sorry for some the folks are

1:00:26

involved in this movement because it's gotta

1:00:28

be exhausting. It's. Gotta be really

1:00:30

hard to be that angry all

1:00:32

the time to feel like you're

1:00:34

truly any intergenerational international war. For.

1:00:36

The soul of the world. In and in the

1:00:38

soul of your country. With. As would

1:00:40

with Eternal Steaks no less. Yeah

1:00:43

so. You get bigger than that. Yeah,

1:00:45

there's very little of Christ in

1:00:47

would this christian movements as become

1:00:49

it was only articles run he

1:00:52

said over. They. Are talking about

1:00:54

how the Bible unequivocally recognizes the

1:00:56

sovereignty of national borders and forty

1:00:58

something like this. He was arrested

1:01:00

zealots. I read the book. Oh

1:01:03

no, you're wrong. They are wrong.

1:01:05

The things they're basing their arguments

1:01:07

of our role on. The

1:01:09

okay was emotional version in the it I was

1:01:11

go. Let's. Go back to first century borders on

1:01:13

I guess by us as we get to do. A.

1:01:20

Misconception. We are are caught

1:01:22

up on some of the biggest or

1:01:24

is the suite of let's talk about

1:01:27

what we're watching under over on the

1:01:29

radar wherever falls I'm I got one

1:01:31

that I'll eat off with says because

1:01:33

it flows so nicely for more segment

1:01:35

and christened nationalism. Is

1:01:38

when a lot of headlines about the

1:01:40

Alabama Supreme Court ruling on our in

1:01:42

vitro fertilization ideas and I want to

1:01:44

unpack little bit of so the court

1:01:47

the High court in Alabama was asked

1:01:49

to decide whether frozen embryos. Created

1:01:51

during idea for technically unborn

1:01:53

children and therefore subject to.

1:01:56

An Alabama statute called the wrongful death of

1:01:58

a minor act. The Supreme

1:02:00

court in Alabama ruled that, as

1:02:02

it's currently written, The. Statute does

1:02:04

include quote unborn children who are

1:02:07

located outside of a biological uterus

1:02:09

at the time they are kills.

1:02:12

Ends. That they have

1:02:14

this legal status of us minor person

1:02:16

so that if they are destroyed they

1:02:19

are now subject to wrongful death lawsuit.

1:02:21

Okay. Lots. Of questions. Lots

1:02:23

of questions, a handful of which

1:02:25

are. Are the power goes

1:02:27

out? Who's responsible for the minor person's

1:02:29

when the parents die? What happens when?

1:02:32

oh, science advances to the point that

1:02:34

embryos don't need to be implanted. Ah,

1:02:36

that is. a pregnancy is not required

1:02:38

for that embryonic, Some for human. There.

1:02:41

Are tons of questions here. Ah,

1:02:43

But the bottom line is. Ivy as

1:02:45

per se is not banned in this

1:02:48

decision, but because of the obvious risk

1:02:50

involved nobody can be able to get

1:02:52

insurance, etc. and therefore the service most

1:02:54

likely will not be offered. So when

1:02:56

you see have my to say they

1:02:58

banned I've yes that's property likely consequence

1:03:00

of the decision although that's not spelled

1:03:02

out in the decision. So.

1:03:05

What now? Ah, The Supreme

1:03:07

Court of Alabama. Can

1:03:09

grant a motion for rehearing if they

1:03:11

want to said possible that they will

1:03:13

reconsider. This know man have been issued.

1:03:15

Yet it's very likely this can not

1:03:17

go to the Us Supreme court because.

1:03:20

State Supreme courts are the final arbiter

1:03:22

of what state law says. There is

1:03:24

no appeal higher than that. If you

1:03:27

wanted to take a kiss supreme Court,

1:03:29

you'd have to claim that a Us

1:03:31

constitutional right has been violated. There's no

1:03:33

Cost is right idea. It's very difficult

1:03:35

to envision in a vehicle that can

1:03:37

make it their I'm. Ends

1:03:39

constitutionally. It's probably within the power

1:03:42

of a state to been I've

1:03:44

yes, that's so legal consensus I've

1:03:46

seen. So I'm watching this because

1:03:49

I since it could further destabilize

1:03:51

the Pro Life Coalition. Because.

1:03:54

A lot of nominally pro

1:03:56

life folks. See. I

1:03:58

see us as he generally. that is

1:04:00

thing. That. Allows people to

1:04:02

have babies. And the

1:04:04

logic of this statute? Takes

1:04:07

you to a very extreme

1:04:09

place obviously. legally. Ah,

1:04:11

you know that every time an egg

1:04:13

is fertilize regardless of whether it results

1:04:16

in a pregnancy, you have a potential

1:04:18

wrongful death lawsuit available. Or.

1:04:20

And since the court is simply

1:04:22

interpreting the statute, This.

1:04:24

Ultimately comes down to the legislature so I'm

1:04:27

watching to see. Whether. The legislature

1:04:29

revisits. the law was such as

1:04:31

pass recently. Renewed

1:04:33

pressure arises, some of which

1:04:35

might come from people within

1:04:37

the Pro Life movement itself,

1:04:39

Because again, this is Alabama

1:04:41

to. That's what I got.

1:04:44

Watch this space. Zoc. What He

1:04:46

that? Yeah. So yeah, I get

1:04:48

to things today. I wonder I think is

1:04:50

a positive one that is less avast. The

1:04:52

positive one is in the past two years,

1:04:55

four point Five million people have quit smoking

1:04:57

since the menthol band went into effect. Now

1:04:59

I think that reasonable people Ron might seem

1:05:01

I look at and say hey, that's an

1:05:04

infringement on freedom. Maybe it is, Maybe it

1:05:06

isn't, But what I know for sure is

1:05:08

it's Four point Five million people. Quitting smoking

1:05:11

is a positive. Ah, national health impacts. I

1:05:13

think that's a good thing and I just

1:05:15

want to highlight the work. Of Dr.

1:05:17

Sarah Mills. Awesome that I know. Personally,

1:05:19

I'm a huge fan of I think.

1:05:22

Whether. Or not we continue on this trend

1:05:24

of of kind of making it harder for

1:05:26

people to do things that that about himself.

1:05:28

She has done a she and her team

1:05:30

had done fantastic research or and on agree

1:05:32

saddle good because there's a lot four point

1:05:34

five million people that are more likely to

1:05:36

live healthy and longer lives thought the other

1:05:38

thing that I'm watching you dirty or sequential

1:05:40

us assess. The. Weed is too

1:05:43

strong. Many people are saying

1:05:45

and I'm a talk about wire receive different

1:05:47

outcomes from people smoking pot. You know you look

1:05:49

at the stuff that our parents were smoking back

1:05:51

in the day and people were having psychotic

1:05:53

break because it was only but so strong. I

1:05:56

think that. Yeah. In states where they

1:05:58

legalize it, I think one. The be legal but

1:06:00

I think that there's a conversation to be had

1:06:03

about. What? Is too strong? How strong

1:06:05

she to be. You know how much access

1:06:07

to people have all all that kind of

1:06:09

stuff and were sorted through those things and

1:06:11

we're going to let you know some of

1:06:13

the weeds on the market right now it's

1:06:15

like moonshine but in the a a similar

1:06:17

efficient use like it is their haven't psychotic

1:06:20

break down from smoking weed like we've lost

1:06:22

the thread. It's not supposed to be the

1:06:24

outcome or and so. It I,

1:06:26

I, I think. The. Strength of weed is

1:06:28

gonna be a thing that I'm falling out of

1:06:30

the gets talks about enough because people are worried

1:06:32

about up with as we'd study it more as

1:06:34

as and is it's easier to studded said yeah

1:06:37

I think we're gonna find out. This thing that

1:06:39

proponents of for a long time said is fine

1:06:41

for you know, meaningful negative health impacts. I think

1:06:43

in theory they are right, but with the amount

1:06:45

people are able to consume and with the strength

1:06:48

of it I think that that is actually change.

1:06:50

Is nicer boomer parents we'd. Many.

1:06:53

People are saying. Any

1:06:57

any comments on their own? Ah, no

1:06:59

comment at this time. Ago

1:07:01

would you bring that? I. Will.

1:07:04

As. Always. I'm always here to remind you

1:07:06

of the conflicts around the world and

1:07:08

how they tied to the tide. Americans

1:07:10

in American decisions. I'm I'm a teacher.

1:07:12

The Congo. A little bit where

1:07:14

things are on the brink of

1:07:17

a major. Major war that

1:07:19

I. Don't. Think the Us

1:07:21

will be able to prevent. Unfortunately

1:07:23

for few reasons. To sum it

1:07:25

up, superfast, you have a part

1:07:27

the eastern part of the Democratic

1:07:29

Republic of Congo. He's been riddled

1:07:31

with armed rebels groups. They've taken

1:07:33

over that area pretty much of

1:07:35

the last two decades. It's a

1:07:37

very resource rich area. And

1:07:39

but in particular you have one major groups called

1:07:41

M Twenty Three which is backed by Rwanda and

1:07:43

this is where the Us is going to commence.

1:07:46

I'll get back to this still hang in in

1:07:48

there. Would make if M Twenty Three that over

1:07:50

the last year's has taken over town after town

1:07:52

and now I'm The most recent thing is that

1:07:54

they are even circle the town. Through.

1:07:56

Which the humanitarian. Aid goes

1:07:59

to to. The and

1:08:01

Congolese refugees. And

1:08:03

so for for a decade now. Congo.

1:08:05

The Congolese army has been fighting this

1:08:08

Rwanda backed. Rebel. Group called

1:08:10

and twenty three. And forever the

1:08:12

international community and the Us has kind

1:08:14

of overlooked care turned a little bit

1:08:16

of a blind eye to this issue

1:08:18

or want is a partner of the

1:08:20

United States. And they're a partner because

1:08:22

after the Nine Ninety Four Genocide. The

1:08:25

U S. was very unsavory supporting the

1:08:27

post genocide. Government because it was, you

1:08:29

know, super instability each and because present

1:08:31

to gummy. I'm who had a horrible

1:08:34

human rights track record, by the way,

1:08:36

who pursued policies that were favorable to

1:08:38

Us business investment and ah, and he

1:08:41

has also contributed heavily to Un peacekeeping

1:08:43

missions. So the Us is kind of

1:08:45

overlooked some of his anti human rights,

1:08:48

anti democratic. Tendencies

1:08:50

because of and and behavior because of that.

1:08:52

But the problem now is that you have

1:08:55

a situation where they backed funded be created

1:08:57

this rebel group in the Democratic Republic of

1:08:59

Congo and they are on the brink of

1:09:01

war. So the Us called out Rwanda and

1:09:04

said you need to stop and you to

1:09:06

pull out your missiles and troops from the

1:09:08

area they were used categorically and it went

1:09:10

to the Un Security Council. Were. Of course

1:09:13

they came up with not much the sanctioned a

1:09:15

few individuals. And they said you know that

1:09:17

called on the international community to. To

1:09:19

help stop the fighting there. But between

1:09:22

the fact that if the international treaty

1:09:24

in the S is turning to this

1:09:26

silly in the game and the fact

1:09:28

that the world is really distracted mostly

1:09:30

by Israel, Gaza, and and Ukraine, I

1:09:33

just don't think that this. Is going

1:09:35

to get the attention it needs and

1:09:37

it's going to be a war. It's

1:09:39

going to be. It's just going to

1:09:41

be horrific as it is. You had

1:09:43

already six million die and six million

1:09:46

displaced. So am I just expected to

1:09:48

get. Worse and it's not going to get a

1:09:50

lot of attention and it's tied us foreign policy

1:09:52

so I figured I'd met shit. Always hear chess

1:09:54

to bring back the the doom and gloom but

1:09:56

it is something I'm watching. Very close. Okay,

1:10:00

We are going to flip over to political

1:10:02

You plus and talk about. The.

1:10:06

Evolving developing funny Willis scandal in Georgia

1:10:08

and whether that's can get the way

1:10:10

of. Justice. For

1:10:13
