Today I’m interviewing Jess Shorland. Jess is head of product at Hover Developer Services (https://www.usehover.com/), a Seattle based startup that helps developers process mobile money in Sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia. You might recall that I recently interviewed her husband and fellow co-founder, Benjamin Lyon. That was PopStart episode 2. Hover isn’t Jess’ first rodeo. She’s held various product manager and co-founder roles. And, fun fact, she and I were housemates in two different entrepreneurial houses in North Carolina. In this episode, Jess talks product, empathy, and building safe spaces for teams to fail. My favorite moment is when she shares about “the untapped potential that could be unleashed” if people had the resources and support to take risks. Oh, and a word that begins with “va” and ends with in “gina” is (awesomely) used in this episode. Consider yourself warned.
