1:56
Years of Olympus, so be doing the first

2:00
we're going to take a bunch of Harry
2:02
Potter pets and put them competition style through
2:04
the format of Big Brother. The guest for
2:06
this show will be Michael Hollis, who has
2:09
been on TNO, and he did some live
2:11
shows with me on the road for TNO
2:14
last year, and this will be his Potterless debut,
2:16
I believe. But he's a good friend of mine,
2:18
very knowledgeable about both series, and I'm excited to
2:20
have him as a guest. If you want to
2:22
get tickets, you can go to potterlesspodcast.com/live. And if
2:24
you're in the Charlotte area, you can still get
2:26
tickets to the Charlotte show if you want to
2:28
see it in person, and that
2:31
is also available at potterlesspodcast.com/live.
2:34
I'll also be in Raleigh on March 9th, but that show is
2:36
sold out. Thank you, Raleigh, for getting tickets. But
2:38
unfortunately, we have sold out, but we have the live show
2:40
up. It is very exciting, and the live stream also comes
2:42
with a seven-day replay, so if that day and time doesn't
2:44
work out for you, that is okay. You can either watch
2:46
it later or watch it again or watch part of it
2:49
and then pick it up later. There's a
2:51
live chat that comes with it, too, so you can interact with the other
2:53
folks who are watching. It's going to be a
2:55
fun time, and I hope you come through. It should
2:57
be a really exciting live show, and I'm excited to
2:59
do it for the packed crowd in Charlotte
3:01
and the packed crowd watching the stream
3:03
up in the live chat. So
3:05
that is what's going on in the world of Potterless.
3:08
I will hopefully be putting out more episodes soon, but
3:10
let's talk about the episode that you're about to hear.
3:12
This is from the live show that Kelly and I
3:14
did in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2022. This
3:18
is the Potterless portion of a half-and-half show,
3:20
so this was the second act of the
3:22
show where we did a wizard on survivor.
3:24
It's one of the earlier wizard on survivor
3:26
formats that we've done, and I
3:28
think that since this show, we've kind
3:30
of expanded the format a little bit in
3:32
terms of getting the crowd interacting with us
3:34
more for making the decisions. This one, because
3:36
Kelly is a survivor expert, I was deferring
3:38
to her a lot to help us make
3:40
the final calls, but I think this is
3:43
a really fun one to listen to because
3:45
this is Kelly and I kind of starting
3:47
to figure out this format that I have
3:49
used at many live shows since. So I
3:51
think you will enjoy this episode still. We've
3:53
built upon the last survivor, which I posted
3:55
to the feed recently with Eric Schneider, and
3:57
this one is, you know, us.
4:00
starting to figure out the format and it's fun
4:02
and especially if you like Survivor, Kelly gets very
4:04
much in the weeds of the game so that's
4:06
really fun but if you don't understand Survivor that's
4:08
okay it's still a really fun time. And if
4:11
you enjoyed this episode and you don't just want
4:13
to listen to it you want to see it
4:15
you can get the video replay of this live
4:17
show if you go to the merch store for
4:19
the New St. Olympian, my Percy Jackson podcast, go
4:21
to the newst olympian.com/merch and when you
4:23
go to the merch store you can scroll down and get
4:25
the the New St. Olympian and Pottery List live in Philly
4:28
August 31st 2022 live
4:30
show and you can see the visuals from
4:32
this show in addition to just listening from
4:34
the audio so if you really want to
4:36
feel like you're there you can get that
4:38
video replay and it's over on the T&O
4:40
merch store. But without further ado let's get
4:43
into this episode where I am joined by
4:45
Kelly Schubert live in Philly to do Wizard
4:47
on Survivor Silver Linings Edition. It
5:06
was good everybody! As
5:11
you'll note Kelly did a full costume change
5:14
I did a partial costume change. I
5:16
was told full costume change I did
5:18
not realize you were just changing your
5:20
shirt. I also. I had different hair
5:22
I went full out. I also changed
5:24
my socks. How
5:28
dare you? Very important things. Okay well
5:30
hopefully everybody had a wonderful intermission. We
5:32
are here now for the Potter List
5:34
portion of the show. All right
5:38
all right so yeah we're gonna do a
5:40
fun little more get
5:42
a little loose do a little more improv type thing
5:44
for a little bit and the show Q&A it's gonna
5:47
be a blast. Now Kelly is one
5:49
of the biggest survivor nuts that I know.
5:51
She loves to watch the show a whole
5:53
heck of a lot. You've recently just marathon
5:56
through like two or three seasons. Yeah another
5:58
couple seasons. And rapid succession. When
6:00
I do the thing where I don't pay attention for
6:02
the first couple of episodes and then by episode six
6:04
I'm watching the rest of the season with her So
6:07
I get to skip the more boring episodes and then
6:09
you know once the unimportant people are gone. I'm locked
6:11
in It's a great balance. I love it. She catches
6:13
me up on things. I miss lovely. No, we're
6:16
gonna be doing another Wizard on survivor It's gonna
6:18
be a little more condensed since we only have
6:20
half of the show to do this year So
6:23
in this world of survivor, we are
6:25
going to be taking it up from
6:27
post merge So if
6:29
anyone has watched survivor usually of two or three tribes
6:31
and then eventually when you get like 10 or 12
6:33
people left Sometimes
6:36
a little less they'll merge all the tribes
6:38
together and then instead of doing head-to-head stuff
6:40
for the immunity challenges It's just all solo
6:42
stuff. So all these challenges here that I've
6:45
got laid out which Kelly does not know
6:47
what they are Gonna see
6:49
who would come out with the immunity challenges then
6:51
talk about who we think would maybe try to
6:53
vote each other out and ultimately We'll have a
6:55
winner now We always have some sort of theme
6:58
when we do these survivor shows We've done like
7:00
a heroes versus villain kind of thing because survivor
7:02
the TV show does this they do like blood
7:04
versus water Where it's like family members.
7:06
I've heard that the first blood versus water is actually
7:08
good and the second one is bad. Yes Okay,
7:11
I haven't seen either one cuz I heard But
7:14
sometimes they'll have gimmick seasons they'll have like
7:16
oh, it's all the winners coming back Whatever
7:18
so what we're doing for this wizard on
7:21
survivor is wizard on survivor Silver
7:23
Linings Edition and that is my
7:25
polite way of saying the B
7:27
teams Basically, it's
7:29
all of the people when I've looked at
7:31
different groups people who were cool But not
7:33
necessarily like the head people in charge So
7:36
representing like the main character arc
7:39
are cool people but not necessarily
7:41
in charge are Neville Longbottom and
7:43
Luna Lovegood From
7:46
the bad side of things from like
7:48
the Draco cohort of it all We've
7:50
got blaze the beanie and pansy Parkinson
7:53
From the evil death eater section of
7:55
it all we've got Peter Pettigrew and
7:58
Fenrir grayback from the
8:00
working for the... I like the merburs. From
8:04
the Ministry of Magic section of it all,
8:06
we've got Kingsley Shacklebull and Arthur Weasley. And
8:09
then for teachers at Hogwarts, we've
8:11
got Professor Flitwick and Madame Hooch.
8:14
So those are the 10 folks that we have.
8:16
I tried to pull from very different areas so
8:18
that it wouldn't be too lopsided in terms of,
8:20
oh, all these people group together, all these people
8:23
group together. So what we're going to do is
8:25
going to turn to you in the audience to
8:27
help us determine which of these seven random challenges
8:29
we will go through because we'll end with a
8:31
final three. So can I just
8:33
hear a number between one through seven? Four!
8:35
Thank you very much. So we're doing challenge
8:38
four. Reminder, we've got Neville,
8:41
Luna, Zabini, Pansy, Edigrew, Greyback,
8:43
Kingsley, Arthur Weasley, Flitwick, and
8:45
Hooch. All there. Okay. Now,
8:48
challenge number four is your classic sort
8:51
of physical slash mental combo challenge in
8:53
Survivor. Usually in Survivor, this involves you
8:55
doing some sort of manual labor to
8:58
acquire a key that then unlocks a
9:00
box that gives you puzzle pieces. And
9:02
after you swim across water, you can
9:05
put the puzzle together. Classic. Your classic
9:07
Survivor challenge, which I would just love
9:09
to be in the, I guess the
9:12
writers' room for that where someone's like,
9:14
what if they were, uh, I don't
9:16
know, on a barge and they got
9:19
a job. So I want to be on
9:21
the crew for that because apparently what they do is they
9:23
build the full challenges out and then they have the crew
9:26
compete in the challenges to see if they're too hard
9:28
or too easy. And then also to film them because
9:30
right before they show a challenge of the actual people
9:32
doing it, they show you how it's supposed to work
9:34
with a crew member doing it. And that's what I
9:36
want to be. I want to be one of those people.
9:38
I want to be on the crew. I want to be
9:40
just the person that they do in the film portion when
9:42
it's one of the endurance challenges where you have to hold
9:44
on to something for a long amount of time or you
9:46
have to not fall off of something. They always show what
9:48
it looks like when someone fails and they
9:51
always just fall. Cause like usually these things are like,
9:53
you know, you're trying to hold something and then you
9:55
lose so much that you drop it. But because they're
9:57
just filming it, like the people look perfectly fine. And
9:59
then they. either let go or just fall off of
10:01
something, and I would be that guy where it's just
10:03
like, you're standing on this and you're like, oh,
10:06
I got probes! I wanna be
10:08
that. Anyway, the one that I've designed here that's
10:10
very on brand Harry Potter-wise is that
10:13
you're on brooms. Oh, we should
10:15
pick a location. We even
10:17
picked a place. I usually do it
10:19
based on the Wizarding Schools, which are
10:21
all over the place and have really
10:23
bad names, because J.K. Rowling usually just
10:25
did Wizard School in whatever language it
10:27
was. The Brazilian one is Casolo Bruxo,
10:29
which is literally Portuguese for
10:31
magic school. Famously
10:34
Hogwarts is not called magic school.
10:37
So stupid, gosh. Why
10:40
did we think she was good? What
10:44
are all of the different schools? Dermstring,
10:47
oh, Mahoutacoro. I think I've done one there
10:49
before. Oh, let's do Wagadoo. This is the
10:52
one in Africa. We won't go into how
10:54
bad J.K. Rowling is about writing Africa, because
10:56
she's usually like, Africa's just a country, right?
10:59
So this is Wagadoo version of
11:01
Survivor. So they're in the African
11:03
wilderness. I don't know what, I think
11:06
it's supposed to be in like a new gondola, but I'm
11:08
not positive, because I've already closed out the HP Wiki page,
11:10
because we need to get moving. Now,
11:12
in this challenge, they have to fly on
11:14
brooms to grab puzzle pieces, which
11:16
are like in bags on Quidditch
11:18
rings. So they fly, grab the bags,
11:21
and then they have to return to a different
11:23
area where they are assembling a puzzle. What
11:25
does the puzzle put together? Well, it's Quidditch themed.
11:27
It's a big picture of Ludo Bagnon. From
11:31
all of the folks here, who do you think would be
11:34
good at this? Initially, I feel
11:36
like the strongest flyers would be Madame
11:38
Hooch. I feel like Kings
11:40
of Shacklebolt probably knows his way around a
11:42
broom. Wootwick,
11:44
I think would be good at the puzzle portion.
11:46
Arthur Weasley as well, because he'd be like, muggles
11:48
do these things called puzzles. It
11:52
doesn't always matter who is the fastest in
11:54
the physical part of it. Very true, very true. Usually,
11:56
it varies a lot in the
11:58
physical portion of the- but in
12:01
the overall time of the
12:03
challenge, that's just a small percentage. And you can be
12:05
the last one to the puzzle and then
12:07
still win at the puzzle because they take a
12:09
long time. That's very true. So my thought is
12:11
although you may have an advantage in the flying,
12:14
even if you're the last one, you're not out of it. Okay,
12:16
so maybe Hooch does well in the flying, but she
12:18
struggles a bit in the puzzle. So maybe we're looking
12:20
for someone who could kind of check both boxes. A
12:23
little bit of both, right. I feel like Kingsley could
12:25
check both boxes. I feel like Zabini could check both
12:27
boxes. I don't know if he's confirmed on the Quidditch
12:29
team, but he feels like he's on the Slytherin Quidditch
12:31
team. I don't remember. I
12:33
don't either. I've only read the books once. I've
12:36
read them so many times that I don't remember. My
12:40
head's just all full of pretty jacks in now. That's all that I
12:42
read now. That's it. I
12:46
think either Zabini, Kingsley,
12:48
Hooch, from those three, who do you think would
12:50
win at this challenge and who wins immunity? Hooch.
12:54
Okay, maybe she has the lead. It feels
12:56
like it's getting really close with the comeback,
12:58
but then she's able to hold it off
13:01
and complete the puzzle before Kingsley can make
13:03
a stunning comeback. It's not to say that the
13:05
flying part doesn't matter, because sometimes you win by seconds. All
13:08
right. Well done. So Hooch has immunity.
13:10
She cannot be voted off. With our roster here, they
13:12
have to pick someone to be voted off of the
13:14
island. What route do you
13:16
think they would go this early in the
13:19
post-merge stage? Are they immediately trying to get
13:21
rid of people that they think are risks
13:23
in terms of challenge beast potential? Do you
13:25
think that they're gonna get rid of people
13:28
that they think are more cunning? I'm
13:31
laughing because immediately they're
13:33
getting rid of Fenrir, because
13:35
as soon as he gets hungry, he's
13:37
gonna eat somebody. Okay. As soon
13:40
as he mentions him on the cap,
13:42
I'm like, oh, he's gone. He's probably already eaten
13:44
two of his tribe mates. I'm
13:47
pretty sure any logical person is not playing
13:49
with that. I think that's good. I think
13:51
that makes sense. You'll see sometimes in Survivor, you have
13:53
the thing where everybody hates one person, and then once
13:55
they get the opportunity to vote them off, they just
13:57
do it and they don't even worry about it. And
14:00
then sometimes Survivor does the thing where you have two
14:02
tribal councils in one episode because it's so boring there's
14:04
no deliberation. Everyone's like, yeah, we're getting rid of Fender
14:06
of Greyback. He's a cannibal. We're
14:09
voting him off. Yeah. So I think
14:11
that makes sense. He's a cannibal and this is a
14:13
game where you're supposed to get really hungry, so... Right,
14:16
yeah. No? Good point. Okay, so he's gone. Easy peasy.
14:18
Now, can I get another number between 1 and 7?
14:20
That is not 4. 2, thank you
14:22
very much. Okay, so this next challenge is
14:24
one of the endurance challenges. But one of the
14:26
ones where you have to hold something for a
14:28
long time and the last one remaining wins.
14:30
So what I've come up with here is
14:33
that they have to hold a really heavy
14:35
dragon egg. And they have this thing sometimes
14:37
in Survivor where they have to like... Things
14:40
will change after a certain increment of time.
14:42
So I'm imagining you have to hold it
14:44
down and then slowly but surely you have
14:46
to raise it like this. Ultimately
14:48
where you have it exactly 90
14:50
degrees out and it's really strenuous
14:52
to hold. Usually when they do it
14:54
that way it's like tied to something where if
14:57
you like drop the angle then like some jar
14:59
smashes somewhere. And then that's how they know that
15:01
you're doing it. Yeah, maybe there's like a rope
15:03
at the top of it or something and it sets
15:05
off a pulley system and breaks a
15:07
thing. A pulley system that raises a flag and
15:09
breaks a clay pot full of
15:11
rice that goes everywhere. I want to be
15:14
on the team that designs those things. It's like, all
15:16
right, you design the challenge. I'll design the mechanism that
15:18
breaks the clay pot. I
15:21
mean, look, I think gender
15:23
reveal baby things are very silly and stupid.
15:26
We should just instead make fun gadgets and
15:28
get those what they do on Survivor to
15:30
break things or smoke comes out. Now
15:33
in this challenge, we've got Neville, Luna,
15:36
Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, Peter Pettigrew, Kings of
15:38
Shacklebolt, Arthur Weasley, Flitwick and Hooch. Who
15:40
do we think has the endurance to
15:42
hold on for all of this? Who's
15:44
on the bottom right now? So who
15:46
needs it the most because endurance challenges
15:48
are mental. Pettigrew might be on
15:51
the bottom just because the only other Death Eater
15:53
in the mix was Greyback and he's gone. I
15:55
also feel like Pettigrew in terms of an endurance challenge,
15:57
like he's been through a lot. live
16:00
as a rat. You had to act as a rat for decades.
16:04
Yeah. Jackie's pretending
16:06
to be a weasily. He hates the
16:09
weasily. But is he also too
16:11
jittery to hold something still then for that
16:13
long as a rat? Yeah,
16:15
but I guess in this particular one,
16:17
it's not one of the balancing ones.
16:19
So I don't think jitters matter. You
16:21
can be really wobbly. I feel like
16:23
if he's got enough determination to be
16:25
a rat for so long, literally
16:27
and figuratively, and then also to cut
16:29
off his own hand during the books.
16:32
Like I feel like this guy has
16:34
ultimate dedication and he really does need
16:36
it. I think Pettigrew is the clear
16:38
favorite in this situation. I also think
16:40
that actually Pettigrew might be doing all
16:42
right around camp. Like he might just
16:45
every now and then turn into a rat and
16:47
then go like find food. Oh, so
16:49
he's a big asset. I would imagine that he's
16:51
like actually doing all right as far as like
16:53
eating food. And also, I think that
16:56
the part I would have the most trouble
16:58
with on Survivor is at night when
17:00
all of the footage of all the
17:02
rats coming into there like shelters and
17:04
stuff. And I think he'd be completely
17:06
unfazed by all of that. That's true.
17:09
But I agree with you that I think that if
17:11
he wants it the most, if he feels that he's
17:13
on the bottom, give him one. So
17:15
Pettigrew wins immunity in this challenge. Someone's
17:17
got to get voted off. It can't
17:20
be Pettigrew, but it could be Neville,
17:22
Luna, Zabini, Pansy, Kingsley, Arthur, Flitwick, or
17:24
Hooch. At this point in
17:26
the game, they've gotten rid of the clear,
17:28
you know, person who's killing the vibes or
17:30
the humans on the tribe. Do
17:33
you think there's a person at this point, are
17:35
they going to try to go for someone that
17:37
they fear is good at challenges? Are they going
17:39
to try to get someone out that they fear
17:41
is more cunning? What kind of
17:44
angle happens at this stage in the
17:46
game? I think at this point, alliances
17:48
are probably starting to form.
17:50
And when an alliance is new,
17:54
like at this point, we're at nine people,
17:56
right? So the most you're hoping for
17:58
is five people in your alliance right
18:00
now. And then you want to get
18:02
clearly ahead. So where are the alliance
18:04
lines forming? One of
18:06
the other side is going home. Even if
18:09
you perceive your own alliance as threats, it's
18:11
not time to take them out yet because
18:13
there'll be time for that later. Right now you need the
18:15
clear majority. Sure, if you're
18:17
going by majority in that case, there is
18:19
a bit of a split between like kind
18:22
of good and evil because you could go
18:24
with like the professors and the ministry people
18:27
and the Hogwarts kids. And
18:29
that would give them the majority. But Pettigrew does
18:31
have the immunity. So I don't know if that
18:33
gives him any sort of sway. Doesn't
18:37
give him sway, which gives him protection. Right,
18:39
OK. Then I could see
18:41
maybe people think Zabini,
18:44
like he's young, he's athletic, he
18:47
could be a threat that they might want to not have win
18:49
challenges. On the flip side, I feel like the other people, Kingsley
18:51
feels like a big threat. But I don't know if there's enough
18:53
votes to get him off. Oh, if I'm sitting
18:56
there, I'm thinking I want
18:58
to go with Kingsley to the last six and
19:00
then he's gone. You want to hold him on a
19:02
little bit longer. I want to hold him on a
19:04
little bit longer on my alliance. So maybe we've got
19:06
some things where like the kids team up, they
19:09
fear Zabini more than pansy. They're
19:12
worried about Pettigrew but he has immunity so they can't
19:14
get him. So maybe they take the time to try
19:16
to reduce the numbers. Zabini goes home, they don't have
19:18
the numbers to. I think he's also more of a
19:21
strategic threat. You don't want
19:23
him kind of infiltrating your
19:25
head game. OK. So the
19:28
powers that be work to get Blaze
19:30
Zabini out of there. But it's OK,
19:32
Blaze. One day you'll be rewritten as
19:35
the only Slytherin that didn't leave. That's
19:37
my headcanon versus Zabini. He's the only
19:39
guy that didn't touch at the end.
19:42
All right, now can I get a number between
19:44
one and four that is not, or sorry, between
19:46
one and seven that is not two or four?
19:49
All right, seven I heard right there. All
19:51
right, so seven. OK, now this is a
19:54
special one. This is the
19:56
spicier one. It's usually a
19:58
challenge that is. is a reward
20:01
challenge, but we're gonna kind of combine
20:03
it into an immunity challenge. We're doing the
20:06
survivor auction. Survivor auction. Survivor auction is
20:08
always a classic one, usually when there's
20:10
like about this many people left. They usually
20:12
do an auction where they give everybody
20:14
like 500 American US dollars
20:16
in an envelope, and then
20:19
they have an auction where part of it, they
20:21
usually start off with just like some very simple,
20:23
like it's a platter and there's food on it,
20:25
and you can get food. They usually proceed this
20:27
episode with everyone complaining about how hungry they are,
20:29
and then Jeff Probst is like, what's up guys? I
20:33
feel like that's probably happening at this point, but
20:36
yeah, usually you start with just people ordering
20:38
up different food, and some people
20:41
who aren't like as dedicated to the game spend
20:43
their money on the food. The folks who are
20:45
more dedicated towards the game, or maybe people who
20:47
are more scared that they're gonna get voted off,
20:49
they hold their money because at the end, there's
20:51
usually two things that happen. One will
20:53
give a clue for a hidden immunity idol, and
20:55
then one will let you like give a big
20:57
advantage for the challenge immunity. So what I think
20:59
for this one we'll do is, we'll
21:02
first kind of determine who's in for the
21:04
intense portion of it, versus who's gonna just
21:06
get food. Like Ron's not here,
21:08
but Ron would spend $500 on the first food
21:10
thing that shows up. But I think from
21:13
this, let's pick one person to just like get
21:15
the advantage that has them win the subsequent immunity,
21:18
and then one person gets the hidden immunity, which
21:20
will like come into play. Who do
21:22
we think goes for, I feel like, who
21:25
do we think would go for food right away? I
21:28
feel like Arthur Weasley might be enamored by food. I think
21:30
so. I think he's been around Molly's cooking for a
21:32
long time, and he's really like Ron,
21:34
not equipped for going hungry. Right, yeah.
21:36
I think Luna also, they do a
21:38
thing where, after they bring out
21:40
the food, they usually bring things covered with a lid,
21:43
and they either have like really good food underneath, or
21:45
it'll be like pig's brain or something. I feel like
21:48
Luna would go for the thing in the lid, and
21:50
she would get the gross thing, and be very excited
21:52
about it. Like she'd be so stoked to eat pig's
21:54
brain or whatever. And they also
21:56
do the thing where sometimes you'll buy
21:59
something and they... you can either have
22:01
this chocolate cake that you just bought for $300 or we will
22:03
give you a
22:06
full bag of rice and a full bag of
22:08
beans for back at camp. The person always picks
22:10
the rice and beans for back at camp because
22:12
it wins you favor and it wins you and
22:14
your team food for the upcoming days. Okay, yeah,
22:16
but what if Pansy pork and stuff like that? But I was going
22:18
to say, if Pansy is like not with my chocolate cake. That
22:20
could be very, yeah, if Pansy or Pettigrew got
22:23
it, I could see them not
22:25
going for their group because they think they're such
22:27
a minority who cares. I would imagine that if
22:29
Pettigrew got it, he would say, no, I
22:31
know that nobody likes me. Yeah, I'm
22:33
gathering my food as a rat anyway, so I don't need
22:35
it. I like the two, one of the two of them
22:38
doing those sorts of things. Yeah, I never hate them. It
22:40
never happens. Who do we think is in for the long
22:42
haul, strategic wise? I feel like, maybe
22:44
Neville, maybe Neville. Because I feel like Neville would
22:46
be so good at foraging food in the wilderness
22:48
that he wouldn't be very hungry. He'd be like, oh,
22:50
I can eat all these leaves and stuff. Or
22:52
he's like in the ocean getting all like, I
22:54
think he's fine. So I feel like he might be
22:56
able to hold out for a thing. I
22:59
also feel like Flitwick feels very
23:02
strategic and like he would want to
23:04
hold out. If he's the master of charms,
23:06
that feels very brainy. He's Ravenclaw, head of
23:09
house. He feels like he would also save
23:11
it for the strategic purpose of the advantage
23:13
later in the game. That's true. He's
23:15
also older though, and he may
23:17
need the food more than the younger spry guys
23:20
who can kind of like go
23:22
a little hungrier. So in that case, do you think Kingsley
23:24
maybe holds off? Ooh, yeah.
23:27
Okay, so between Kingsley and
23:30
Neville are two strategy heads
23:32
here. Do we just want to flip a
23:34
coin of who gets it? Yeah, flip a coin. Okay,
23:37
I'm just going to Google coin
23:39
flip. All right,
23:42
heads, the hidden immunity goes to
23:44
Neville. Tails, the hidden immunity
23:46
goes to Kingsley. Oh,
23:48
wow, there's like an animation and everything. It's
23:51
heads. So the hidden immunity goes to Neville. So Neville, I'm
23:53
going to put a little cliche. You for the hidden immunity.
23:55
I know, but I think he would find it. I think
23:57
he would find it. I think he probably find it. he
24:00
would find it because again, Neville
24:02
feels very well equipped for the wilderness. He
24:04
knows all of the herbology stuff. That's true.
24:07
And as we saw before in an episode that
24:09
we recently watched, they had like a little picture
24:11
and they were like, oh, it's near this plant.
24:13
We dug it underground. He would be
24:15
like, oh yeah, and just get it in like two
24:17
seconds. Great. Got it done. But also in the season,
24:19
I just watched the guy who bought
24:21
the clue had already found two idols without clues
24:23
that he was good at looking. He was good
24:25
at finding things, got the clue, could not find
24:27
it. Apparently dug until his hands were bloody and
24:29
could not find it and then went home that
24:31
night. It was very sad. It's a shame that we
24:33
don't have any helpful puffs because they're such good finders. All
24:36
right. So that means that Kingsley wins the immunity
24:38
challenge and the follow after he gets the thing
24:40
that like helps you for the
24:42
next round. And he was already probably going
24:45
to dominate anyway. I mean, yeah, he's a
24:47
strong asset. So Kingsley Shacklebolt has immunity. Neville
24:49
has a hidden immunity, but remaining
24:51
we have Neville, Luna, Pansy, Pettigrew,
24:53
Kingsley, Eartha Weasley, Litwick and Hooch.
24:56
I feel like we're at the point now since
24:58
the like evil people, if we are going to
25:00
draw the line there are so minimum that
25:03
we're going to get to the situation where
25:05
either a blind side or a more strategic,
25:08
like let's get out of threat happens
25:10
because it's like we don't have to worry
25:13
about, you know, the numbers are such in our favor.
25:15
Also at this point, usually you're going to
25:17
get an alliance within an
25:20
alliance. The Boston Rob rules of
25:22
survivors have an alliance rule number
25:24
two, have an alliance within your alliance and rule number three,
25:26
get rid of your alliance before they get rid of you.
25:28
These are the Boston Rob rules according to
25:30
another player who thought that he was the greatest thing
25:33
ever. So I would imagine that
25:35
there's within this alliance, the good people
25:37
were forming an alliance. Maybe sometimes it
25:39
forms based off of like age.
25:41
People will gravitate to people the more similar
25:43
to. I think Neville and Luna, they always got along really well.
25:45
I think they could be a good little two person alliance. Or
25:47
to like strategic ideologies, like people who are
25:50
thinking the same. That's kind of how you
25:52
get your alliance within an alliance. I
25:54
could see a three person alliance of
25:56
Neville, Luna and Flitwick because
25:58
you've got and maybe if they
26:00
try to bring in someone with
26:02
a little more brawn into it,
26:04
like maybe kingly, but I think
26:06
Neville Luna Flitwick is a good,
26:08
they're all sort of thinkers. Neville
26:10
is very good with foraging and
26:13
getting out there. Luna is very,
26:15
she's knowledgeable of creatures and all of
26:18
that, which just feels like a different
26:20
skill set for other challenges. And then
26:22
Flitwick's got, he's very magically powerful, he's
26:24
got more wisdom behind him, gives a
26:26
little bit of diversity in terms of
26:28
age to the group. And
26:31
I think that usually
26:34
when you make like a final three-pack, people make
26:36
like their final three-packs and everybody makes a final
26:38
three-pack. But then they break it all the time. They
26:40
align each other, they're tuggin' at their... But in their
26:42
like off interviews on the one that they
26:44
actually mean, usually you link up with people
26:47
that you think you have a chance against.
26:49
So it's usually three people who are on
26:51
evil, even playing fields. And that's
26:53
why I don't think Kingsley is going to find
26:55
an alliance because everybody's going to
26:57
see him as the golden boy at the end
26:59
who will automatically win. Nobody wants to take him
27:02
to the end. Okay, okay. So these three
27:04
are teaming up. If they are trying to
27:06
get someone out that they think is a
27:08
threat, that would leave Hooch, that would leave
27:10
Arthur, that would not leave Kingsley because they
27:13
have immunity, and that would leave Pettigrew or
27:15
Pansy. Do you think that they try to
27:17
knock off maybe Hooch because she
27:19
did well in the flying thing? They're worried
27:22
about her winning immunity challenges? I
27:24
think at this point they're thinking, we want
27:26
to get off Kingsley, we can't get off
27:28
Kingsley. And if it were me, I'd want
27:30
to get off Pettigrew. Really? He's scrappy and
27:32
he's wry and he's like a kind of
27:34
goat that people will take to the end
27:36
but then might have a case at
27:38
the end. And I would just
27:41
want him gone because I don't like him. Yeah, I
27:43
mean ruining the vibes as well. Okay, I think that
27:45
works. I think that they're able to swing enough votes
27:47
where Pettigrew is gone and then we
27:49
can get into the next challenge.
27:51
So again, either a number that is
27:53
between one and seven that is not
27:55
two, four, or seven, five. Thank you
27:57
very much. Okay. This one, short, sweet.
27:59
to the point they get to a
28:01
point where Jeff Probst has to welcome
28:03
them in and it's definitely Jeff Probst
28:05
hosting us because he's magic.
28:07
Nobody else can host it. He hasn't
28:09
aged in 40 whatever seasons of Survivor.
28:11
The man is a wizard. I skip
28:13
around because there's like 45 seasons of Survivor
28:15
and I have like I... They
28:17
do like two a year so it's not like it's
28:20
really 45 years. I follow this list
28:22
that like ranks them and like gives you
28:24
a non-spoiler description about what each season is
28:26
like and so I skip around from watching
28:28
like season number two to season number like
28:31
37 to like 20 and he looks the
28:33
same in all of them. He is the
28:35
exact same. Like the quality of the videography
28:37
changes. He is the same. It's
28:41
truly impressive. So Jeff Probst
28:43
is the host. He does his classic thing where
28:45
he says, come on in guys, which is what
28:47
he always says to welcome people in and that
28:49
exact... I'm gonna perfect the cadence because he always
28:51
says it in the same way. He goes in
28:54
in guys. He's a little too high with the
28:56
guys. I need to start lower with
28:58
the... Yeah. Come in
29:00
guys. Welcome
29:03
to the mix. And
29:05
then what's just set up on the
29:07
beach is just a very intense elevated
29:09
platform. Just a long
29:11
rectangular platform and then on either
29:14
end of the platform because Survivor
29:16
always has like big gimmicks and
29:18
stuff or big dunk tanks and
29:21
what they're doing is they're doing duels where
29:23
they're trying to knock the other person backward
29:25
into the dunk tank.
29:28
Get your opponent into the dunk
29:30
tank. They are eliminated. Now
29:33
we do know that Flitwick was the
29:35
dueling champion so he feels like a
29:37
very strong candidate here for the duels
29:41
but anyone else from Neville,
29:43
Luna, Pansy, Arthur, Kingsley
29:45
and Hooch that you think would fare
29:47
well in the dueling challenge here. I
29:49
think Kingsley is a good dueler right?
29:52
I would think so. Yeah. I think
29:54
that Neville has proved himself pretty well. Right.
29:57
The question is... Or that with just a sword.
29:59
Yeah. Right is Neville good at dueling
30:01
or is he very good with a sword against
30:03
a snake like it's good at a very specific
30:07
Type of situation or
30:09
has he found his own? I'm not so sure
30:12
good question But no, I
30:14
think Kings would be good. We've seen him hold
30:16
his own fighting wise Flitwick. Obviously, we know I
30:19
don't feel very strongly about
30:21
Arthur Hooch or Do
30:23
we even see pansy do a spell in
30:25
the entire series? I don't know
30:27
about them holding their own I think it would come
30:29
down to Kingsley or Flitwick. I think Flitwick would do
30:32
it. I think so too I think you're there.
30:34
So now Flivicks got the immunity Idol
30:36
Neville still has its hidden one. Mm-hmm.
30:39
Do you think now? They're
30:41
gonna try to get Kingsley just Kingsley fear
30:43
that this is coming and maybe
30:45
he tries to bring some unlikely people
30:47
into the mix Because if we have
30:50
this three of Neville Luna and Flitwick
30:52
that does leave a four of pansy
30:54
Kingsley Arthur and Hooch did
30:56
they kind of say look We're
30:59
an unlikely gang of four, but these three
31:01
are all buddy buddy. Let's knock one of
31:04
them off I think that wait
31:06
you said it was we've never long bottom.
31:08
We have Luna. We have
31:10
pansy We have Kingsley we have Arthur we
31:12
have Flitwick we have Hooch so it has
31:15
immunity Neville has a hidden immunity Yes, and
31:17
we've got our alliance of of never Luna
31:19
Flitwick and then the other four I think
31:21
the other four kind of band together to
31:23
knock off one of those three Which
31:26
would make Luna the top choice if
31:28
they knew Neville had the hidden
31:30
which they knew he got the clue because he wanted
31:32
In the art, right? So they're pretty sure he has
31:34
it, right? So But do
31:37
they do your favorite thing? Are they afraid that if they
31:39
make it too obvious Neville's gonna give the hidden immunity Idol
31:41
to Luna because you can't give it to someone Are
31:43
they gonna do the split the vote situation
31:46
to flush the Idol? They can't split the
31:48
vote here because therefore if they
31:50
split the vote is two to two to that voting
31:52
block of three So they split the vote
31:54
then they lose no matter what okay, they flush
31:56
the Idol, but they'll lose one of them So, I mean
31:59
I think at the same time you know, that group of
32:01
three is also, they're being
32:03
scrappy. They know there are only three. They're trying
32:05
to grab more people into their alliance. I think
32:07
they're going for Arthur. Ooh. I
32:09
think they're trying to grab him into the alliance. And
32:12
so I can hear that Arthur is the swing boat. Okay.
32:15
Which side does he see himself going farther with?
32:17
Okay. I feel like Arthur
32:20
would feel better with the other group
32:22
than not Neviluna of at all, because Arthur would probably
32:25
view himself as a better player than Pansy. He
32:27
could maybe see himself as a better player than
32:29
Hooch, and it would just kind of be him
32:32
and Kingsley. And maybe he's thinking, if I can
32:34
get Kingsley out of there, I'm the top dog
32:36
of this other alliance. And then I'll be seen
32:38
as the mastermind that kind of usurped the throne
32:40
and the rejects of the B team survivor. I
32:45
wasn't thinking of him as that creative
32:47
strategist, but yeah, maybe. I mean,
32:49
he works for, he has managed to
32:51
keep a job at a very corrupt
32:53
government organization. I feel like he is
32:55
surrounded by conniving people all day, every
32:57
day. He doesn't do it himself, but
32:59
I think he knows how to get
33:01
it done. He interacts with
33:03
Lucius Malfoy a lot. I
33:06
think what's happened here is the three tried to
33:08
pull him in, tell him we want to get
33:10
Kingsley off. What is a key almost one. Arthur
33:12
flips to the other side and says, hey
33:15
Kingsley, they're trying to get you off. Let's get the other two with
33:17
us. And let's form our own final
33:19
three. So maybe Arthur does it secretly. They kind of
33:21
blindside, they get Luna out of there because she
33:23
doesn't have the idol. Right. And
33:25
then next episode, they'll be able to flush it
33:27
if they need to. Okay. Big
33:29
Luna fan in the front row. I just want out
33:31
a big gas that Luna's got, but I think it
33:34
works. I think it makes sense. So Luna is out.
33:36
So now can I get either the number one, three
33:38
or six? One is the
33:40
first one I heard. Thank you very much. I did hear
33:42
all of the other options. So this is a very different
33:44
survival run. This
33:47
usually happens in the earlier rounds, but
33:49
I still think it's very fun. There's
33:51
various eating challenges in Survivor. Usually
33:53
what happens in the eating challenges is they have
33:55
speed rounds of eating gross things and then it's
33:57
whoever is the last to eat the gross.
34:00
has to, right, isn't
34:02
it usually like you do it quickly and then whoever's the slowest
34:04
is eliminated and then they keep going? If they
34:07
have too many players, they'll do two seeds of four
34:09
and then the two winners from each group go
34:11
on to a final four. So when
34:13
I'm thinking here, it's gonna be a little
34:15
different because they're all British, so
34:18
all the food will be bad. Shout
34:21
out to the British folks on the stream. But
34:24
because they're all British, we wanna
34:26
switch it up a little bit. And on
34:28
the pro, like, I gotta hand it to the UK. Nah,
34:31
I don't wanna hand it to the UK. I
34:33
don't think you ever wanna do that, especially for this situation.
34:35
Gotta hand it off to the people
34:38
that they culturally, Indian food in England
34:40
is good and it's
34:43
spicy. So I was thinking instead of
34:45
a gross food eating challenge, it's a
34:47
spicy food eating challenge where things just
34:49
get progressively and progressively spicier and then
34:51
it's less of a question of how
34:53
fast you can eat or how much
34:55
grossness can you withstand and who can
34:58
handle the most heat from, you know,
35:00
maybe they eat a bunch of peppers
35:02
that get like spicier and spicier and
35:04
you have to go like a certain
35:06
time without drinking water or milk or
35:08
whatever. I was wondering where you were going with
35:10
this because I was like, they normally eat live
35:12
buzz. Right, no, no, no. Where are we going?
35:15
I wanna make it a little bit different.
35:17
So instead it's kind of like a hot
35:19
pepper challenge, yes. I think it's hard to
35:22
know who has a spice tolerance by looking
35:24
at something from the outside. For a reason
35:26
he's not gonna be good at spicy food.
35:28
I think we can just know that off
35:30
of that. Neville, Pansy, Kingsley, Arthur, Flitwick and
35:33
Hooch. I think Pansy
35:35
would be phenomenal at this challenge. Okay.
35:38
She has like a heart of ice. He's
35:41
like, she is, I feel like
35:43
she's always got like a stern look on her face.
35:45
She's gonna be totally unfazed. I feel
35:47
like she's the clear winner here. Neville I think
35:50
also would be very good. He's all, like, I
35:52
feel like he'd be so fascinated by, if it
35:54
is peppers, for example, he'd
35:56
be so fascinated just by like the biology of it
35:58
all, the herbology of it all. that I think that
36:00
he could be a top dog here. So
36:03
I think my top two seeds
36:05
here would be nevelin pansy. Do
36:07
you want to flip a coin? No. I want
36:09
to choose one. Choose one. I feel like we haven't given
36:12
enough love to pansy. Let's let her have the win one.
36:14
And I always think it is fun when there's like a
36:16
clear person just to get rid of when they win immunity
36:18
and then it kind of throws a wrench into everything. And
36:20
I feel like this will throw a wrench and let's throw
36:22
some wrenches. Okay, I was gonna say the wrench would be
36:25
the other way. But yeah. Well, I've thrown my wrench. Throw
36:27
your wrench. I've thrown the pansy wrench. She's got immunity. Neville,
36:30
Kingsley, Arthur, Flitwick, Hooch, and
36:32
then pansy who is safe.
36:35
So now when you split the votes to flush.
36:38
Flush Neville's hidden immunity. You've got four
36:40
V two. So you split two and two. Okay.
36:43
And then if it's a tie where it's two, two,
36:45
two, and
36:47
Neville doesn't play his idol and
36:49
Neville's one of the votes, everybody revotes and
36:51
they'll probably vote for Neville. Okay. So
36:53
they're gonna flush it out to try to get one rid
36:55
of one of Neville or Flitwick. That would be what I
36:57
would do. Okay. I'm living out my
37:00
survivor life here. This is my gift to you.
37:02
They flush it out. It
37:04
does successfully work. Neville does play it. Neville does
37:06
play it. Yeah. He's gonna play
37:09
it. They do the four some. Two
37:12
votes for Neville, two for Flitwick, and then
37:14
those two vote for pansy. Kingsley.
37:18
They vote for Kingsley. They vote for Kingsley to try to get him out. Yes. Okay.
37:22
So it's all tied. Neville plays his idol. So
37:25
now. You can only vote for
37:27
those three, but all those three can't vote again.
37:29
Neville played his idol. The two votes for Neville
37:32
don't count. And therefore there's two
37:34
votes for Kingsley, two votes for Flitwick. And
37:36
everybody except for Kingsley and Flitwick, revote and
37:38
can only vote for one of those two.
37:40
Right. And the three
37:42
of them vote first. All right. So Flitwick
37:44
is gone. All right. Getting closer and closer. Can I
37:47
get either the number three or the number six? Six.
37:50
Six. Everyone said six. No one
37:52
said three. Okay. Now this is another
37:54
classic survivor thing. Usually they'll have some sort of
37:57
puzzle based thing where you have to like do
37:59
a repeated task. but in one
38:01
of the seasons it was like, oh, knots.
38:03
That season they decided, everybody's untying knots all
38:05
the time. There's all knots. How do you
38:08
practice for that before you go on? You
38:10
get your significant other to tie a bunch of knots and
38:12
then your job at home is to untie all the knots.
38:14
How do you make it like, imagine being
38:16
on the crew of that and making it completely
38:19
even. Every set of knots has to be exactly
38:21
the same. So everybody's untying the same exact
38:23
knots. Or like when they go through those rope
38:25
mazes, somebody has to like make that maze exactly
38:28
the same. Six times in a row. They
38:31
bring in the Boy Scouts of America. Now,
38:37
this one, similar, they had one that we watched. It was
38:39
like a jungle gym type thing where you had to like go
38:41
up a level, untie a knot, which would let you get past
38:43
to a next thing or open up a ladder or a slide
38:45
or whatever. So that kind of thing. But
38:47
at each step along the way, it's a different
38:50
unlocking charm that you have to do. So like
38:52
an Alohomora type of situation. So
38:54
it's a big jungle gym puzzle type thing.
38:56
So part physical, but mostly the magic of
38:59
unlocking doors and doing the different spells.
39:02
Neville, Pansy, Kingsley, Arthur, and
39:04
Hooch. Who do we think would be the
39:06
best at this? I think Arthur's pretty strong.
39:09
I was gonna say, I think that he'd be agile
39:11
enough to get through the maze and
39:14
also good enough at the magic he came through. Good
39:17
enough for me. Arthur Weasley wins immunity, which is
39:19
huge for him. And then now
39:21
we've got Neville, Pansy, Kingsley,
39:23
Arthur, and Hooch. Our
39:26
little bit of power situation for Arthur, you try to bring
39:28
it in to get somebody out. Does he use this as
39:30
an opportunity to get Kingsley out? Now that Kingsley is okay,
39:32
he does. That's what you do. All right.
39:35
Now, I know he's probably made a final
39:37
two packed with Kingsley. This is where
39:40
you either die the hero or
39:43
live long enough. to self become
39:45
Harvey Dent. Right, that's what always happens at the
39:47
end of Survivor. Your favorite player ends up blindsiding
39:49
your other favorite player. Yeah, that's true. And
39:52
that's the point we're at now. And I think that he pulls
39:54
it together. Everybody wants him out. He's the golden boy
39:56
at the sea. All right, they
39:58
get Kingsley out. He's gone, but don't worry. the sprint branded
40:00
fan favorite at the end of the
40:03
reward show. So now we have our
40:05
final challenge. Can anyone say the number three? I
40:07
heard three, thank you so much. So this final
40:09
one is another endurance one, but this is one
40:11
of the balance ones. You'll see this in Survivor
40:13
sometimes where they have to like balance a ball
40:15
on a stick or something and hold it steady
40:17
so it doesn't fall off. But this one instead,
40:19
plain and simple, take a wand, put it on
40:21
your finger, and then you have to just balance
40:23
it like this. So we
40:25
have Neville, Pansy, Arthur, and Hooch. Who do
40:27
you think would be the best at
40:30
balancing? And this is the final immunity challenge before they
40:32
get into the final three. Balance? I
40:34
would say Hooch, right? Like flying? It's
40:36
all about flying. Yeah. Yeah,
40:39
look, good enough for me. All right, Hooch gets
40:41
the immunity. She's got some power to try to
40:43
think who she wants to bring because it's gonna
40:45
be a final three. So out of Neville, Pansy,
40:47
and Arthur, what do you think happens? So
40:51
at this point, you have to get into the
40:53
jury's head. It's not who do you think
40:55
is the best match-up for you.
40:57
It's who is the jury most likely to
41:00
vote for, not Pansy. She's the goat that
41:02
goes all the way to the end. Yeah, so I think they're
41:04
gonna definitely wanna try to bring Pansy along. Who's supposed to bring
41:06
Pansy no matter what? Yeah. Then you've
41:08
got Arthur and Neville. You wanna
41:10
think who has pissed off more people on the jury, who
41:12
has more friends on the jury, who's played a better game.
41:16
I don't know. Arthur definitely pissed off Kingsley
41:18
by blindsiding him. Yes, but he's also made like big
41:20
moves. He was the one who flipped
41:22
from the original three. But
41:25
is it set in stone that Hooch doesn't
41:27
necessarily have the powers? Because there's four total
41:29
votes. Is there something Arthur could do to
41:31
try to make sure he gets in? Like
41:33
does it work with Pansy? Does Arthur fear
41:35
Neville the most out of Pansy and him?
41:37
So he's like, look, let's get, oh,
41:41
here's what could happen. Arthur and Pansy
41:43
are like, Arthur goes to Pansy, says, look, we get Neville
41:45
out of there. You're coming to the final three. They
41:47
both vote for Neville. Neville kind of
41:49
gets sense of this happening. Goes to Hooch,
41:52
says, let's both vote for Arthur. It's
41:54
a tie vote. And then they have to do the tiebreaker
41:56
thing, right? Where they have to like build a fire. I
41:58
never understand why this doesn't happen. In the
42:00
Final Four, the person who has the
42:03
immunity makes the call. And I never
42:05
understand why they don't force a 2v2
42:07
fire challenge. It does not happen very often.
42:09
I think they do a 2v2 fire challenge. It's
42:11
fun. Sure. Yeah. Throw your
42:13
wrench in. So in this case, we would have a 2v2 fire challenge
42:15
where you just literally have like a little like thing and flint and
42:17
you just got to like make a fire, right? No wands? No,
42:20
no wands. Wizard on survivor. Okay. I
42:25
think they got a rush to do it. So
42:27
it would be between Arthur and Neville. Arthur
42:30
loves muggle stuff. I was going to say. I
42:32
think Arthur has definitely tried this before.
42:35
So in that case, Neville is gone.
42:37
So our Final Three is Pansy, Cooch,
42:39
and Arthur Weasley. And then
42:41
we've got our jury, which consists of
42:44
everybody else. So our jury,
42:46
as I hit undo a lot
42:48
to get all the names I've
42:50
deleted, our jury, we've got Neville,
42:52
Luna, Zabini, Pansy, Pettigrew, Fender, Cryback.
42:56
And then Kingsley, Arthur's in
42:58
it. Pansy's in it. Sorry,
43:00
I misspoke. Flovik's in the jury and then Hooch is in it.
43:02
So all the different votes are in there.
43:05
Did you say Pansy was on the jury? No, she's not
43:07
on the jury. Okay. So the Final Three
43:09
is Pansy, it
43:11
is Arthur, and it
43:13
is Hooch. I
43:16
feel like Arthur's played the best game. Yes. Does
43:18
he have the votes to do it? I think
43:21
that the jury does not address
43:23
Pansy at all. They know she's not. They
43:26
do the thing where they ask people questions to try to
43:28
determine their vote. She just gets ignored. She just gets ignored
43:30
the whole time. Great. But I
43:32
do think that if Fender votes
43:34
for her, she's out of spite for everybody.
43:37
Great. One vote from Fender.
43:39
Good for you Pansy. You've done it. You're
43:41
on the board. Between Arthur and Hooch, I
43:43
know he's pissed off Kingsley, so maybe Kingsley's voting for
43:45
Hooch, but as far as the other people, I
43:48
think Arthur might have the games here. I think that
43:50
I would vote for Arthur. He played the
43:52
best game. He saw when he needed to
43:55
switch alliances, and he switched, and then he
43:57
saw when he needed to take out his
43:59
biggest threat. did it even though it was his
44:01
bro, you know? Okay,
44:04
well. That's who I would go for. The
44:07
resident survivor expert has it, according to the grand
44:09
jury of Kelly's Brain, which I trust, I think
44:11
it's a very good brain. Arthur
44:13
Weasley is the winner of Wizard on Survivor
44:15
Silver Lining condition. Very
44:17
fun, very fun. We've got some time here,
44:19
so let's do 10 minutes of Q&A. Wonderful.
44:22
And then get on out of here. Well, hold on
44:24
there, Bass Mike. Before we can get into Q&A, we
44:27
gotta take a little bit of a break, and that break
44:29
is called, Who in Guardian had read Olsa? Hello,
44:37
how's it going, everyone? I just want to
44:40
make sure you are well aware that
44:42
if you want to get access to every
44:44
single thing we ever posted to the
44:46
Potterless Patreon, you can get that for just
44:48
four bucks a month over at patreon.com/Potterless.
44:50
That Patreon has been rebranded for my new
44:53
Percy Jackson podcast, The New Stellanthion, but
44:55
you can get access to all of the
44:57
Potterless stuff by joining the, oh, I
44:59
just want the Potterless stuff tier. You scroll
45:01
back a bunch and boom, you'll get
45:03
access to everything we ever posted. For Potterless,
45:06
that's five years worth of content, including
45:08
bonus episodes, director's commentary, video
45:11
content, my notes, a whole
45:14
bunch of fun stuff. You get access to
45:16
all of that. You can join for just
45:18
four bucks, download, stream, whatever, all this stuff,
45:20
and then bounce, I don't care, but you
45:22
can get access to all of that at
45:25
patreon.com/Potterless. You can also still get some digital
45:27
merch items at potterlesspodcast.com/merch, including wallpapers, ringtones, old
45:29
live shows, bunch of fun stuff there. And
45:32
then if you want to just stay up to date
45:34
with what I'm doing, you can follow me on social
45:36
media at Shub17 on Twitter and
45:38
Instagram, that's S-C-H-U-B-E-S-1-7. And
45:41
if you want to stay up to date
45:43
with Potterless stuff, if I'm doing live shows
45:45
or other streams and stuff, we're still posting
45:47
on social media from time to time at
45:49
Potterless Podcasts on Instagram, at PotterlessPod on Twitter.
45:52
And if you want to stay up to date
45:54
with my other podcasts, you can go to my
45:56
website, which is Shubes, S-C-H-U-B-E-S. I've
45:59
got a... But the New Salimpian, the Percy
46:01
Jackson podcast, I've got Meddling Adults. We're still
46:04
making that and making new seasons. Horse is
46:06
still going strong with my buddy Adam Mamawalla.
46:09
And Modern Muckreaker season one is still up and it's still really
46:11
good. So all of that is there. You
46:13
can learn all about the shows there and you can listen
46:15
to all those wherever you get your podcasts. Now
46:18
at this point, you will hear a couple of ads.
46:21
Some of them will be read by me. Others of
46:23
them won't be. The ones that aren't read by
46:25
me are inserted locally. So if you don't live
46:27
in an English-speaking country, don't be surprised if you
46:29
hear an ad in non-English. But
46:31
once those ads are complete, we'll get into the
46:33
Q&A for the show. And the Q&A is going
46:36
to be just the Harry Potter related questions. There
46:38
were some Percy Jackson ones and some Harry Potter
46:40
ones. So I kept in just the ones that
46:42
were either about Harry Potter or just general questions.
46:44
If you want to hear all the other questions
46:46
from the Q&A, you can listen to episode 56
46:49
of the New Salimpian, which was
46:52
the first act of the show plus
46:54
the Percy Jackson relevant questions. So
46:56
if you want to hear the full thing, check out episode
46:58
56 of the New Salimpian. But we'll take a
47:00
break from those ads that help me do this as
47:03
a full time job. And then we'll get into the
47:05
Q&A and the conclusion of this episode of Potter List.
47:07
Hey, it's me, Mike Schubert. That's right. I'm the same
47:09
Mike Schubert from the Potter List podcast. And if you're
47:11
enjoying this podcast and you want to hear something similar,
47:14
well, boy, are you in luck because I make a
47:16
very similar podcast to Potter List called the New Salimpian.
47:18
That is the one that's going on currently. If you
47:20
get caught up with Potter List, you will see that
47:22
I only post episodes every month or so. But
47:25
the New Salimpian has weekly episodes and that is
47:27
a podcast with a similar structure to Potter List.
47:29
But it's about the Percy Jackson books. That's right.
47:31
I also didn't read those as a kid. So
47:34
if you want to hear me going through that
47:36
whole series for the first time, you can listen
47:38
to the Newest Olympian wherever you get your podcasts
47:40
by searching for the New Salimpian or going to
47:42
our website, thenewsalimpian.com. I've made my way through the
47:44
first five books so far. I covered the first
47:46
movie and the TV show. I did interviews with
47:48
people who made the TV show and I'm soon
47:50
getting into the Heroes of Olympus sequel books. So
47:53
again, that's the New Salimpian and you can listen
47:55
to it wherever you get your podcasts. Hello.
47:57
If you're hearing this, that means you get the
47:59
Internet. And if you get the internet, that means you
48:01
can tune in to a live stream of a live
48:03
show. We are doing it very soon on March 10th,
48:05
2024. It's going
48:08
to be half the New Olympian, half Potterless, so
48:10
a little bit of Percy Jackson, a little bit
48:12
of Harry Potter. For the Percy Jackson section, we
48:14
will be kicking off our coverage of the Heroes
48:16
of Olympus series. We're gonna be doing the first
48:18
couple of chapters of The Lost Hero, which is
48:20
the first book in HOO. I'm
48:22
super stoked about it. Potterless will be doing
48:24
some sort of silly, improvised Harry Potter reality
48:27
TV thing like we've done in the past.
48:29
The guest for the show will
48:31
be Michael Hollis, and you can get
48:33
tickets for this live show right now
48:35
at Shubbs, S-C-H-U-B, dot E-S, slash, tour.
48:38
That's Shubbs, S-C-H-U-B, dot E-S, slash, tour.
48:40
That live show is going to be
48:42
6 p.m. Eastern time on March 10th,
48:44
which is a Sunday. It's right after
48:47
daylight savings time happens, but
48:49
you can watch it live. You can watch it at
48:51
a different time. You get a seven-day replay with the
48:53
show, so if that day or time doesn't work, you're
48:55
all good. Or if you wanna watch it multiple times,
48:57
you're all good. But yes, live stream of a live
48:59
show we've got in the near future, March 10th, 2024 at 6
49:01
p.m. Eastern. Get
49:04
tickets at S-C-H-U-B, dot E-S, slash, tour.
49:06
Right now, 10 p.m. We've
49:15
got a whole bunch of questions. I am just
49:17
going to pick the first one at random.
49:21
So this question comes from the listener
49:23
of the show, Kelly Beckman-Schubert. The
49:26
subject line says, the live show question from
49:28
your wife in all caps. Kelly asks,
49:30
if you were on Survivor, what would be your
49:32
favorite challenge to play? Hmm,
49:35
I like the ones that are the mix
49:37
of physical and puzzle and all of that.
49:39
If it didn't have too much swimming, because
49:42
I'm like, I'm solid at swimming, but I
49:44
wouldn't say it's my strongest suit, but I
49:46
always consider myself like the Mario of things
49:48
where all my stats are even in good
49:50
and stuff, but I'm not a strong suit
49:52
in one of them. So I feel like
49:54
one of the challenges that has you do
49:57
a lot of different elements, I think I
49:59
would be good. at. Like we were watching
50:01
one where you had to like swim and get a
50:03
thing and then basically do like a lawn dart type
50:05
game. I feel like I could do that sort of
50:07
thing that has you do a whole lot. Yeah. What
50:09
about you? I would pick similarly like
50:11
one of the classic survivor three-parters of
50:13
like physical open something puzzle, but I
50:15
would actually want the physical part to
50:17
be something water-based because I feel like
50:19
that's where I'm the stronger. You are a very good
50:22
swimmer. You destroy me anytime we have races. I know.
50:24
You know I'm much bigger than you. The
50:26
longer the race, the more I
50:28
destroy you. Now this question
50:30
comes from Kate and Hamilton. If you received a
50:32
wedding invitation from a long time show fan whose
50:34
relationship was brought together by you because of your
50:36
show, would you attend? I would definitely
50:39
say my say I've been fortunate enough to
50:41
be invited to some weddings from potterless based
50:43
folks. I will always gladly
50:45
welcome in the invitations. And if the schedule aligns
50:47
where it's like I'm in Philadelphia and there's a
50:50
wedding like either, you know, the same day or whatever, I would
50:52
gladly like swing by, say hi and then leave because it's your
50:54
special day and I don't want to make this about me. But
50:56
most of the weddings I've been invited to
50:59
are in very remote locations. It's like, oh,
51:01
we're in like upstate North Dakota. It's like,
51:03
enjoy your wedding. If
51:07
it's convenient for me, I'm going to swing by. But like,
51:09
I can't go out of my way to a
51:13
very busy place. Okay. This is
51:15
a fun one. Sarah says, since you
51:17
have to start and stop sentences sometimes to get
51:19
clean podcast audio, do you find yourself doing that
51:21
in real life? Yes, all the time. Because
51:25
it's something I've intentionally done. And I especially do
51:27
with the live shows because we're recording these, especially
51:29
for the book, like once for TNO, like that's
51:31
going to become a legit episode. Do you notice
51:33
that I do this in real life? Because I
51:35
notice I do it sometimes and it's funny to me.
51:37
You don't do it when it's just you and I,
51:39
you'll do it sometimes when you're in
51:42
conversation with other people. But not when
51:44
it's you and I, you
51:46
just like stumble through your words. Like, yeah, that's
51:48
one of those things that's like, it's become a
51:50
habit that I would, I would rather have that
51:52
habit than not have it because it makes my
51:54
work life easier. And that is fine. This
51:57
is a good thing for crossovers, since it's Percy Jackson, Harry Potter. I think it
51:59
was a good note to end on,
52:01
just sorting some different characters from
52:03
Harry Potter into cabins. Obviously
52:06
Fred and George are going to be Hermes because they're
52:08
all prankster Goofballs, easy. Harry B.
52:10
Bruce because he's main character. Yeah, right. And
52:13
he's arrogant for sure. Hermione
52:15
would be... Hermione feels Athena. Yeah. Very,
52:18
very wise, very wise. Voldemort.
52:21
I mean, Hades, I guess? But I don't
52:23
know. I was thinking like, Harry,
52:25
he's got like a war. A war. A war.
52:28
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just
52:30
want evil. Like, I just want killing for killing sake. Right.
52:33
Yeah. I also like that better
52:35
because Ares is so far my least favorite of
52:37
the galaxy from a grumble grumble perspective. Yeah.
52:41
Arthur? Arthur. Hmm. He's
52:44
our winner of Survivor. I would say he's our
52:46
winner. I would say Confessor's because he likes all
52:48
the tinkering and all of that. Oh, yeah, okay.
52:51
I think that's very fun. Like all the working
52:53
and all that kind of stuff like that. Molly
52:55
feels very demeter because providing and cooking and family.
52:59
And all of that. Alrighty. Well,
53:01
thank you all so much for coming to the show. Give
53:03
yourselves a round of applause for making it out. For
53:07
all you watching the stream, round of applause again for you,
53:09
whether you stayed up late or you watched the replay or
53:11
wherever it is. Thank you so much. Give
53:13
it up for Kelly for being an incredible
53:15
guest. Incredible. Give it up for Joel for
53:17
helping out and my mom, Barb, for being
53:19
in the back and helping out pre-show and
53:21
everything. And also shout out to all the
53:23
folks here at City Winery and for
53:26
making everything happen from sound to hospitality. Everything's
53:28
been great. Shout out to the folks at Mandolin who
53:30
made all of the streaming happen. So that's all been
53:32
very fun. So, yeah, and thank you all just so
53:35
much for coming out and for listening to the show.
53:37
None of this would be possible without you. So thank
53:39
you. Thank you so much. And I
53:41
realize I didn't do a percia later at the end
53:43
of Act One. So we're going to do the rare
53:45
combo thing where we will close out the show by
53:48
saying both. So we'll say Wizard
53:50
on, I'll percia later. Feels like the normal ending of
53:52
the show. Yeah. Until
53:55
I come back to Philly because I was here
53:57
about a year ago. So let's just make this an annual
53:59
event. adventure. I come here for all of
54:01
you lovely folks and each he's taken the perform on
54:04
stage a great use of a
54:06
weeknight evening. Until then, Wizard
54:08
on. I'll
54:10
see you later. Thanks so much for coming
54:13
out, everybody. Hey. Thank
54:16
you so much for listening to this episode of Potter. This
54:18
is created by make sure it is hosted by make
54:20
sure it is edited by make sure it is produced
54:23
by make sure it and it was produced by many
54:25
people who supported on Patreon over the years. I
54:27
think I've said everything that I really want to say,
54:29
like in the midroll break and in the intro about
54:31
all the stuff that's going on, but I appreciate you
54:34
all sticking around and listening. I'm going to be trying
54:36
to post more stuff to the feed,
54:38
especially now that a lot of the audio that I'll
54:40
be using, because I do post these basically chronologically, a
54:42
lot of the audio to come will be from these
54:44
half and half shows. So because the audio is shorter,
54:46
I hopefully can get stuff up more regularly. If
54:48
you want to see me live in person, aside
54:51
from that live stream I talked about in
54:53
the intro, I will be a leaky con
54:55
in July. It is in Portland, Oregon. It
54:57
is July 5th, 6th and 7th, and I
54:59
will be doing stuff all three days. I
55:01
don't know exactly what I'm doing quite yet.
55:03
They have not gotten back to me about
55:05
the programming particulars quite yet. But I'm assuming
55:07
I'll do a Potter, five at some point,
55:09
some other fun stuff. I think if you
55:11
use the promo code Potter, you might get
55:13
10 percent off, but I'm not positive, but
55:15
you can see me at leaky kind of be
55:17
doing Harry Potter stuff. I'll be doing Percy Jackson stuff.
55:19
I'll probably do karaoke. I'll be doing silly things. So
55:22
that will be a fun time. And
55:24
I really do appreciate you all listening. I'm going to
55:26
try to also get some video stuff like vlog footage
55:28
because I take videos while I'm on tour. I have
55:30
so much tour footage to still put up on the
55:32
Potter of the Sea Tube so you can head on
55:35
over to the Potter of the Sea Tube account to
55:37
see what I've already put up and I will hopefully
55:39
be putting up more stuff soon. But thank you all
55:41
for listening. I really do appreciate it. Please stay subscribed
55:43
because I will continue to post things. And
55:45
until I post another thing, as they say
55:48
in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Wizard
