The timesheet creates a set of behaviours in the firm which are against the interest of the client.  Also the timesheet unfortunately has terrible impact on the mental health.  The accounting and legal professions have four times the national average of clinical diagnosed depression. Kate Carnell then CEO of Beyond Blue has discussed that the real problem in the professions is the timesheet. 

In this episode we talk about how to get rid of the timesheet and then manage workflow. 

It is imperative that the firm measure turn around time for each substantial category of jobs. This is a measure that is important to the client and also is important to the firm. A faster turnaround time will mean an increased capacity for the firm and thus increased profits.
