Show Notes

Think / grow / learn & Kick-arse

Hold clients accountable.

It is important to show your personality in your firm. Must show what results accountants will get.

The accounting industry is in a good spot. It adopts technology early. Compliance is not dead. Data entry is completely changing. As an accountant we have all been trained in data analysis. Data is way more than just P&L, Balance sheets and cashflow.

Shift from struggling with getting compliance.

Challenge is advancing the skills of the industry.

For example House MD – diagnose problems and then solve it. In Growthwise each Friday afternoon they take a deep dive into a client to determine issues and how to assist.

In pricing services, Steph advises to take a stepping stone approach. Value conversation is the key. Packages are so much easier.

The first step is to understand who your clients are. For instance – size of business etc and also personality. In considering niching it does not just have to be an industry. You have to have exact picture of who your clients are.

Social media is powerful but must understand your clients to determine the best strategy.

If you want to build a community of existing client then let people know and have conversations.

Social media is the best learning tools.

The key to in harnessing the power of social media – you must provide great value.

If you want to grow exponentially then learn where people are in their situation and use the appropriate platform for them. For instance Steph use Facebook & Instagram for the Hospitality industry whereas Twitter & Snapchat for their tech clients.

If you want to provide value then you will have to make time to create content. To do this create rules – eg questions compiled and then content created.

The most important point :- Nail who there ideal client and what services will do for those clients.
