On this week’s show we take a look at where the super rich park their money, some interesting data on repossessions and price rises, the worst value property in London, and a warning about sleazy salesmen. Plus we have a great quirky news piece sent in by a listener!
This week’s news
British super rich splash out on property

This article looks at where 'ultra-high net worth individuals' park their money. It seems 80% of their wealth is in global property.

Repossessions down across uk by up to 39 per cent

Good to hear that repossessions are down by an average of 39% for the period October 2012-2013, with all areas of the UK seeing a reduction. A massive shift that points to things changing for the better. Great news for the economy.

Berkeley Street, Mayfair, W1J

This is a property listed at £1 million which has been dubbed the worst value property in London. It really is a case of location, location, location!

Raj says he can make you a property millionaire if you hand over £10,000. Do you believe him?

This is a word of warning! It’s not bad news, but something to be aware of. An undercover journalist attended a property seminar where people parted with lots of money after a hard sell. As we always say at RMP, there is no guaranteed ‘get rich quick’ aspect to property, so be cautious!

House prices chart points to leap in values

This is a great graph from Capital Economics which shows price rise data from the Halifax Price Index and RICS surveyors.

Quirky News: You’ll never believe what’s hidden inside this house for sale in London

Thanks to Benjamin Scott Hobbs ‏@bhobbsprop for tweeting me this week’s quirky news piece about a property for sale in Crystal Palace with a surprise in the loft space…! If you do want to get in touch via Twitter it’s @robbence

Okay, let’s have a look at what’s coming up this week. First of all, I acknowledge some kind reviews on iTunes.  Then, we look at why the superrich have their money.  The Property News Radio podcast, I bet you can guess where that is. Then we look at repossession data; the worst property in London; beware of the sleazy salesman and an interesting yet complicated graph from Capitol Economics which gives their warning of house prices to rise in the near future.  And finally, our quirky news piece this week comes from a property news radio listener. So, let’s get going.

First of all, I will like to acknowledge and appreciate the following two people who have been kind enough to leave reviews for Property News Radio.  Thank you so much. It does make a big difference as you know.

First up is Harry Mercer and he says, “Cracking news update.  As someone who loves property but works 60 hours a week in my day job, it’s wonderful to have a resource to be able to catch up on the news while I’m in the car. I highly recommend his other podcast as well,
