It is a common notion for the guy to have to pay for everything when dating. Or at least that has been our experience growing up. It's an old concept, but the idea of courtship that dates back many years fuels the idea that the guy needs to take charge (which we have talked about in the last 2 episodes—go check them out). But thinking the guy needs to take all of the pressure in paying for stuff is just silly.

When you are getting to know someone, starting to date, and then getting serious, you still have no responsibility over that person. You have no rights and no privileges towards the person you are dating (obviously, until you get married). Now, maybe this concept isn't difficult to grasp and you're thinking, duh, we should just both pay for our own stuff, or our own food, or movie ticket, or whatever. But, how easy is it for that to come across when you are going on those first few dates?

Are you supposed to say "hey, you're grabbing your own meal, right?" That doesn't sound too nice, does it? So how do you approach this conversation and then speak honestly with the other person? Find out and Drew and Megan discuss that topic in this episode!

We appreciate you taking the time to listen to this podcast as it is our mission to provide a Scriptural lens and give helpful dating advice to those that don't want (or need) a complicated relationship. Dating does not need to be as hard as you might see in mainstream media or elsewhere. Marriage doesn't have to be that hard either. So we are doing our best to show you that!
