I remember sitting around a table with Beth and Josh talking about whether or not we should do a Blog. In the end I decided to go for it. Why? I'm narcissistic maybe, but I went for it... 

So here are some top tips from me now we're the other side of our first series...

1. Connect: especially with customers.

2. Grow your tribe: You are always aiming for a wider audience.

3. Consequence of the vlog

• Kids watch it- document of Dad’s life
• Thinking about life in terms of a story- what’s the beginning middle and end

6. Use the best you have available
7. Keep it as still as possible- motion has super shaky.

 

 How much work is involved?

You have to tell things in terms of story:

• Beginning middle and end- Set up, conflict, resolution
• Context for your story is important

Different Angles

• Establish Shot - wide shot
• Close up shot
• Hand held shot.
• Drone - transitional or context - don’t just add them for the sake of it.

Can be quite lonely: you have to shoot everything.

• Editing is as important as the rest: Josh
• Music
• Be real.

Learn from other vloggers but don’t copy

• Iterate
• Don’t copy
• Be authentic
• Be original
