The Department of Agriculture and the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition have requested consultations with the European Union (EU) regarding phyto-sanitary trade regulations imposed on South African citrus by the European Union. The move aims to find a long-lasting solution to protect the livelihoods of tens of thousands of people in the local citrus industry.
