Welcome to episode #13 of The Weed History Podcast.

On today’s episode, we talk in depth about Jacques-Joseph Moreau. Jacques is one of the earliest pioneers of modern psychopharmacology and undoubtedly the earliest proponent of Cannabis use. It is said that his experiments and research with Hashish lead to his conclusions that it was a supplement for headaches and depression and also helped in the aid of increasing appetite.

A quote from Jacques

“One of the effects of hashish that struck me most forcefully and which generally gets the most attention is that manic excitement always accompanied by a feeling of gaiety and joy inconceivable to those who have never experienced it. I saw in it a mean of effectively combatting the fixed ideas of depressives, disrupting the chain of their ideas, of unfocusing their attention on such and such a subject.”

A few points we cover:

  • A breakdown of Jacques-Joseph Moreau
  • Richards opinion on the effects cannabis has on headaches and increasing appetite.
  • We updated our website! We chat about that just a bit along with Rich’s upcoming appearance on High Times Cannabis talk 101

Until next week.
