For this episode we break format to discuss more pressing matters happening in the world today, namely the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police officer Derek Chauvin and the subsequent protests and riots that have erupted across the United States of America. We speak about the importance of racial issues and injustices, and the part that non-black people (especially but not limited to white people) play as well as allyship.
We also discuss other tangentially related issues, such as wealthy white Mexicans bringing COVID-19 to indigenous communities where they have weekend homes/beach houses, and how it's ravaging their already frail communities and health systems, ultimately leading to countless unnecessary deaths. Please consider donating to the Minnesota Freedom Fund http://minnesotafreedomfund.org and support the movement – it is imperative to be on the right side of history and to not be complicit to these injustices. Silence = violence. #BlackLivesMatter
