This episode is so fun! I invited Blythe Roberson on because a) she's one of my favorite writers b) I consider her an expert on men. She's the author of How to Date Men When You Hate Men, which means she has a very well-informed opinion on how women can turn men into the best versions of themselves (for everyone's benefit, not least of all, those of us who date them). We discuss how to help men embrace positive masculinity, odd reactions she's gotten to her writing, her great American road trip, and why Harry Styles song about going down on women makes him a positive masculine role model. Blythe is so smart and funny; you're going to love this episode.

When you've finished listening, buy both of her books:

Raising Questions

Raising Questions is the podcast in which I raise some questions about why we live the way we do. Season 1 was about how and why people choose to become or not become parents. It seems like once someone becomes a parent, it was an inevitability - that's who they were always meant to be. But that can't possibly be true, can it? And if not, what happens in the several years before someone makes that choice?I wanted to to explore what it’s like to experience both the ticking of a biological clock and indecision about having children - especially now that we as a society are having children later. My curiosity extends beyond the children themselves - I want to know the cost of uncertainty for both those who do and do not have kids. In this season, I ask people who spent their 30s undecided about kids how that uncertainty affected their lives. What choices did they make when they wanted to leave open the door to two wildly different realities? What forces pushed them in one direction or the other? Did they ever impulsively buy a crib on Craigslist, reasoning they could use it for pilates if they ended up childless, or was that just me? In season 2, I'm taking on Positive Masculinity. What does it mean? Is there hope for it? Are men in trouble, and can they fix their own problems? To start, I do the unthinkable and sit my male friends down to ask what's actually hard about being a man. They are extremely resistant—but I learn a lot. After that, I get into talking to experts. It's fascinating and honestly has blown my mind. You can find more information here: https://ginnyhogan.substack.com/
