ABOUT THE GUEST

Paul Doust trained at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, where he achieved a distinction in the school’s Acting and Theatre Production Diploma.  Paul also holds his PTLLS certificate (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) along with the Certificate in Training Practice awarded by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, London.  He has run many theatre workshops for young people - notably with The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.  Paul has also written two plays for the NYT, co-directing one of them.  He has scripted for TV series such as the BBC’s EastEnders and Holby City.  His stage plays have been produced on the Edinburgh Fringe, in Australia (Melbourne Festival) and off-Broadway, New York.

In 2018, Paul was a lead tutor on the final BTech theatre course to run at Broadstairs FE College (16 to 21-year-olds).  In the same year, he completed his tutor’s training course with LAMDA and is now very excited to be offering their demanding - but uniquely rewarding - exams.  Paul also runs private theatre workshops of his own.  His courses include Stanislavski, Shakespeare and Second Circle Voice Work (having trained with the world-renowned voice teacher, Patsy Rodenburg).  As well as approaches to acting - from High Comedy to Low Farce - Paul also teaches playwriting, script analysis and directing.
