This episode of Random Acts of Living is a special one telling the story to my first and best tribe of women in honor of International Women's Day. I become a single mother at the age of 20 and was separated by my family not only geographically as they had transferred to Spain being military people, but emotional as having a child out of wedlock they saw as an affront to their Conservative Christian values. So alone in Oregon I was trying to figure out my life and the future life of my son..
Gentle listeners this is the story of me floating and stumbling into a tribe of badass, change the world, life-loving women that indeed saved my life, put me on my path, and taught me that life is not always easy but if you look around you, pay attention your tribe is not far away and they are waiting for you with open arms!
There are so many amazing and strong and truly brilliant women I am honored to have known in my life, and I know you have those women in your life as well.
Gentle listeners, I hope you're celebrating the women around you not just on. this day and month but really day as this time in our herstory we need all of our greatness around us, supporting each other and moving forward with love, joy, and a huge sense of humor!
This episode is dedicated to that tribe - Sheri, Marcy Sarah, Per, Elizabeth, and Mary and our beautiful amazing children with all my love and gratitude.
Enjoy and be well! Emillia
