Welcome to Rapping PE! I’m your host - Steven Buller - AKA Beard Drip Buller - Repping Philly Philly! This is the place where we explore precarity, pedagogy, and physical education! This podcast is dedicated to physical educators of the future, past, and present.

The beginning of my podcast journey starts here. I guess this is where I provide insight into who I am, my experiences, why I decided on the title Rapping PE, the purpose and the general direction I hope this podcast takes. You can look forward to hearing about that when you click the 'play button,' but I just wanted to point out that at no point in my life did I ever envision or imagine myself on a platform such as a podcast due to my naturally introverted personality. I never dreamed I would have ever in a million years become a teacher, but here I am, on a podcast, talking to the world from the perspective of a white cis-gender male whose an urban educator.

Life is bizarre in that we are shaped by our experiences and how we define those experiences and that is the goal of this podcast; To explore the experiences that shaped and defined us! I hope you learn from my podcast just as much as I have during the process of researching how to make a podcast, developing topics, recruiting guests, and recording podcasts itself. I hope you choose to take the journey with me as we explore the great world of Physical Education from the contextual experiences of educators from all over the world.

Here's a little sneak peak into why the title Rapping PE was selected. I decided on Rapping PE because of the numerous meanings the word ‘rapping’ has; it can mean to talk or chat in an easy and familiar manner; rap can also mean to strike with a sharp blow; it references the spoken word or ‘rapping’ in poetry, music, and is a component of Hip Hop.

Thank you for for checking out my podcast, I hope you enjoy the show. Please subscribe to the podcast Rapping PE. If you have any questions, or would like to be a guest on the show, you can e-mail me at [email protected] or sign-up here. … Peace & Love
