In 1990, 76-year-old naturopath Dorothea Snook faced criminal charges over the death of her elderly brother.

After converting to a wholefood, plant-based diet in 1944 under the guidance of the Boston educated naturopath Doctor Alice Caporn, Mrs Snook gained an international reputation for success in treating cancer and arthritis patients on her vintage raw-food alkaline diets.
