In this episode of Re-Cast: The Podcast, we chat with Mike Mayes -- a motivational speaker and advocate for people who have an Autism Spectrum Condition. Diagnosed at 18 months old with autism, he uses his personal experiences to inform his speeches, which include topics such as: overcoming being bullied, transitioning from school into the real world, and the impact of special education laws on people on the spectrum. He has over 10 years of experience as a motivational speaker, and has been a keynote speaker for Autism Speaks, the Flutie Foundation, and for Mass Advocates for Children.
After the break, our team shared our thoughts on the fantastic documentary Life, Animated (2016), which is free to watch on YouTube.
