This is a Real Ghost
1:32
Stories Online Extra. Hey,
1:36
Tony. My name is Mallory. I live in Stonbeck,
1:39
Wisconsin. I just want to start off by saying
1:41
thank you because I
1:44
have had several things
1:47
happen in my life since
1:49
we moved into this house, and your
1:51
podcast has made me feel less crazy.
1:55
We moved into our house in 2016 in Stonbeck. It
2:00
is the house was built in 1985 and I
2:02
am convinced that it's not the house
2:04
that is haunted but the land. I
2:07
am fully convinced. The
2:10
first thing that ever happened to me was in
2:12
the summer of 2016. My
2:16
sister and my brother-in-law spent the night
2:19
with their two daughters, my nieces, one
2:22
of which has autism and my children are the same
2:25
age. All four of the kids are the same age.
2:29
And after a few cocktails we spent the night
2:31
in a tent and
2:33
I woke up in the middle of the night and
2:36
I heard clear as day a
2:39
little girl's voice say, okay
2:41
ZZ come on play now. And
2:44
I wasn't afraid because immediately I
2:47
just thought it was like maybe
2:49
my knee, like my autistic
2:51
niece going out in the backyard and
2:53
wanting to play. So
2:55
I open the tent and I go outside
2:57
and there's nothing. It is pitch black outside
2:59
and I come back in the tent and
3:01
all four of the kids and my sister
3:04
are sound asleep. And I packed
3:06
my stuff up and went back to the house as quickly
3:08
as they could. And that
3:10
was the first time that this happened and
3:12
I know that people kind
3:14
of believed me but maybe thought it was a little bit crazy.
3:20
Then I worked from home. I
3:23
was walking down, there's, when
3:26
you walk out of my office door it is
3:29
very clear in front of me that there
3:31
is the basement door. And
3:33
at that time and still to this day we had
3:35
a chain, we have a chain lock on the basement
3:37
door to keep
3:40
the kids out of there because it's
3:42
unfinished so that chain lock
3:44
is always, is always large.
3:48
And I was on speaker phone with a
3:50
co-worker of mine around noon in the middle
3:53
of the day. And
3:55
you know when it's a beautiful summer
3:58
day and you have all your windows open. the
4:00
door slams, you don't think twice about it.
4:03
There's nothing like going through, you have to think twice about
4:05
it. Cause you know, the windows are open and
4:07
a door slammed. This is the
4:09
dead of winter in Wisconsin and
4:12
I'm halfway down the hallway and I turned
4:16
just past the basement door
4:19
and a door slams and
4:22
I paused. I
4:25
couldn't even breathe. And I remember my
4:28
partner on the other line say my
4:30
name, like, you there? Are
4:32
you there? Are you okay? Like they
4:34
heard that. So I
4:36
walk back and all
4:39
I see is a chain back to swinging back
4:41
and forth and back and forth.
4:45
So the second real situation,
4:48
like occasion that I had experienced,
4:54
my daughter has experienced a few things up in
4:56
her bedroom, which I feel like is where most
4:58
of it comes from. Uh,
5:00
the attic door is in
5:03
her room for a closet. I
5:05
mean, it's locked with key. I
5:08
mean, even when we want to show our friends, the
5:10
attic, have time, we have to find
5:12
the key because we cannot find it.
5:15
That's how little we
5:17
go up there. And there
5:20
was one day in, you know, probably
5:22
2017, 2018, she was freezing. She
5:26
came downstairs and said she was freezing. I
5:28
went upstairs and that attic door was wide
5:31
open, wide open, made
5:33
absolutely no sense before
5:37
July last year. And
5:40
I'm kind of bouncing around. Uh,
5:43
actually, you know what? I'm going to say first
5:45
July because I'm bouncing around. Right
5:48
around that same time, my daughter came downstairs one
5:50
day, they hit on the bus at seven,
5:52
10 in the morning, very
5:55
early. And we've, I've
5:58
been very cautious and asked her. I need this
6:00
in front of our kids because it's scary. She
6:04
came down at 7 o'clock in
6:06
the morning absolutely terrified. I
6:09
mean you can't make this up. She
6:12
said that her blinds had pulled out
6:15
in front of her because if somebody
6:17
was pulling them and slamming them up
6:19
against the wall. Then
6:27
this summer of 2021
6:30
last year I had
6:33
two significant things happen to me. The
6:36
4th of July after
6:39
we had a significant amount
6:41
of people over here and everybody
6:43
was spent. There was three
6:45
of us left. We
6:48
were sitting in a garage and the
6:50
back garage door was open and
6:52
we all saw a person
6:56
run past that pressure and we all
6:59
saw it. There was no
7:01
concern. None of us were scared because
7:03
we all saw it. We just thought
7:05
it was one of the
7:07
party goers just being stupid.
7:11
If we walk out to
7:13
find them and there was nothing.
7:16
Then going back and
7:18
looking at it, the
7:21
figure looked like a human but it
7:23
was way too tall, way
7:25
too stretched out and the
7:28
speed that it ran at was
7:33
not possible for a human. What
7:38
really justified it for me was that
7:40
I was with two other people and we
7:44
all saw the exact same thing and
7:46
thought that was crazy. That
7:48
same summer I was ironing
7:51
clothes, dating
7:54
at the kitchen table and my
8:00
husband actually asked me if I
8:02
have a stroke because this is
8:05
crazy. I was only
8:07
ironing my clothes because there's certain shorts,
8:09
you know, that are, yeah, I'm
8:12
not going to wear them again. They're
8:14
just going to get shoved in your
8:16
throat. With a green pair of like
8:19
velvety shorts, I
8:21
ironed them, I turned around and folded them, put
8:23
them in the basket. Then
8:26
back around to
8:28
grab the next thing and I
8:30
grabbed the same pair of shorts. And
8:34
it was a little bit odd, but at
8:36
the same time, sometimes when you like shorts, you
8:38
buy more than one and so I just
8:40
assumed, you know, I probably just
8:42
bought more than one. So I
8:44
ironed them, folded them, threw
8:47
them in the basket next to me, turned
8:50
around and this thing
8:52
in the shorts, in the basket crumpled
8:54
up and I went and
8:56
woke my husband up. And I
8:58
think at this point he thought I was crazy. He
9:02
did think I was crazy. He asked me if I
9:04
had a stroke and
9:07
then nothing happened again
9:09
until just a few months ago in 2022.
9:12
You know, the
9:15
kids have to get on the bus, but you set it seven
9:18
o'clock in the morning. So mornings
9:20
can be hectic. Sometimes it's
9:22
a great morning and sometimes it's not, but
9:24
it's never a real, you know,
9:26
a real smooth morning at seven o'clock. But
9:29
there was something about this morning, you
9:32
know, I woke up at
9:35
seven o'clock, I woke up just in time
9:37
to go
9:40
crawl in bed with both kids and wake them up.
9:43
Relaxing, wake them up like, hey,
9:46
is everything okay? Like, let's
9:48
just have a good day. Now, mind
9:51
you, when I
9:54
had some texting in the morning, my
9:58
phone is plugged in to my head. board
10:00
and then my phone is on my
10:03
nightstand. And sorry, I need
10:08
to take it. Okay.
10:14
I'm going to just pause for a second
10:16
because this is – okay.
10:19
I'm sure you can edit this all out. So
10:21
it was
10:23
a really good morning. My kids get on the bus at 7
10:25
o'clock. This
10:27
morning I was up earlier than them,
10:30
like way earlier than usual. Great
10:33
morning. We are just down a
10:35
new bed where the USB for
10:37
my phone charger plugs into my
10:39
headboard and my phone
10:41
was always on my nightstand. And
10:44
naturally every morning my
10:47
husband's giving me a wake-up call. I
10:49
take my phone. I'm like, hey, yeah, we're up.
10:51
And I trucked it on my bed, right? Trucked
10:55
my phone on my bed. Move
10:57
on. So I go upstairs and
10:59
I lay in bed with my daughter. Never
11:02
happens. We never have as much time. Lay in
11:04
bed with my son. Never have
11:06
as much time. It was a fantastic frickin'
11:08
morning. Nobody was fighting. We
11:11
weren't screwing up where to find shoes
11:13
or jackets. It was a good morning.
11:16
So I go into my bedroom to find – to
11:18
grab my phone because it was
11:21
snowing and
11:23
I just wanted my phone. So
11:25
I can't find my phone. I
11:27
flip all my bedroom covers off my bed.
11:31
I go into my closet where I normally
11:33
put my phone, like maybe I'll put my
11:35
phone on the shelf while it's changing. Nothing.
11:38
Bathroom. Nothing.
11:41
My office. Nothing. Cannot find
11:43
my phone. Go back from the kitchen. I tell the kids,
11:45
hey, get in the car. I'll
11:49
be right out there in a second because at this
11:51
point now I'm irritated that I can't find my phone
11:54
and I'm concerned. It's snowing. I
11:56
don't want to drive without
11:58
my phone. So I tell him
12:00
to get in the car and I come back in. I
12:02
go back into my bedroom. Again,
12:06
this broke to my bed. I've
12:09
seen my nightstand a million times. There
12:12
is no phone there. I mean, you cannot miss
12:14
this. There is no phone there. And
12:18
I'm going through everything.
12:20
Can't find it. Not because kids do like
12:23
for school, get in the car, take
12:25
me to school. On the way
12:28
back, I just had this, I wanted to call
12:30
my husband. We actually had
12:32
a great day, great
12:35
morning, finally. And
12:37
so I go straight into my office.
12:40
And if you can picture from what I
12:42
said earlier, my office is straight down the
12:45
hallway. And
12:47
then my bedroom is directly
12:50
next to my office, kitty corner.
12:53
So I go straight into my office and I dial my
12:55
cell phone from my
12:59
office phone and all I hear is brrrr. My
13:04
phone was not on silent because my husband had just
13:06
called me, my alarm went off. That
13:09
does not make sense. So I go
13:11
back into the hallway and I stand with my back
13:14
to a closet and
13:16
my phone is plugged into
13:18
the charger that I
13:21
saw empty multiple
13:23
times that morning, centered
13:26
in the middle of my back wall. I
13:30
stood there paralyzed for a few minutes. I
13:33
grabbed that phone as fast as I could. I don't
13:35
know how I had the
13:38
balls to grab it. Ran
13:40
out to my car. Now,
13:43
mind you, it was
13:46
a Wisconsin winter, but I had started my
13:48
car an hour before I dropped my kids
13:50
off to school. I
13:52
opened the car door to get into the car.
13:55
I opened my car door to let my kids out of
13:57
the car. I opened it again. home.
14:00
I opened again when I
14:02
ran back out there. So
14:05
I'm in my car, just keep that in
14:07
the back of your mind, right? So my
14:09
car door had been opened at least four
14:12
times and my car had been running for
14:14
at least a minimum of an
14:16
hour. So
14:18
I'm panicked and I'm in
14:20
my car and all I have is my
14:22
phone. Not my inhaler, not my work, not
14:24
my backpack, nothing. And I'm
14:27
panicked because it's 715 in the morning
14:30
who am I going to call that does not think
14:33
I'm crazy, right? Who am
14:35
I going to call that does not think I'm crazy. So
14:39
I decided just
14:41
to go to my
14:43
parents house which is about you
14:45
know 15 minutes 12 minutes away in
14:49
heartland and as I'm driving
14:51
there I'm passing my
14:54
good friend's house who's a doctor and I
14:56
just I just pulled in because
14:59
I was like in panic mode. I
15:02
called her while I was pulling in and she was getting ready for
15:04
work and she said come
15:06
on in. I was
15:08
locked in my car. She watched me from
15:11
inside her house try
15:14
to get out of my car. I could
15:16
not. My doors were either frozen shut or
15:18
my blocks were frozen shut. I
15:20
turned my car off. I turned it back on.
15:22
I turned it off. I turned it back on.
15:25
It wouldn't my car I
15:27
mean I was in full blown
15:29
panic mode. I felt like an
15:31
absolute lunatic because
15:34
I could knock it out of my car and
15:37
then my girlfriend comes down and just opens
15:39
my door. So
15:42
I end up at my parents house and I tell my
15:44
mom everything that happened and
15:46
it felt so good to feel justified
15:49
that they
15:51
I mean they're
15:54
everything that happened. It's
15:56
so crazy to talk about and a highly
16:00
doubt you're going to put me on your radio
16:02
or your podcast because
16:05
I'm all over the place. I
16:08
just want to thank you. Because I'm
16:12
not scared of my house. I'm
16:14
not. People ask me, like, how can you not?
16:17
I'm not. I don't think my house
16:19
was built in 1985. I
16:22
do think there was a lot of weird
16:25
things the family before us did. But I
16:27
don't think your house is haunted. I think
16:30
the land in Stone Bank
16:32
is absolutely haunted. I
16:34
think that if you're open to it, you're
16:38
more welcoming of it. And
16:40
I'm not scared to be here. I still work here
16:43
by myself. I'm still here
16:45
all the time alone. I'm not
16:47
scared to be here. But
16:50
I'm more frustrated that I've
16:53
had these experiences and that I
16:56
feel crazy about it. And
16:59
recently, actually, my husband has told
17:01
me that he has
17:03
had two experiences, but he doesn't
17:06
want to talk about it. So
17:08
I'd be really curious to know what has happened to
17:11
him. But Tony, I
17:13
just want to say thank you. I almost
17:17
don't want you to put this on the podcast.
17:19
Maybe we can read you this because
17:22
I'm just jabbering. But if
17:25
it wasn't for your podcast, I
17:28
would feel like a crazy lady. What
17:31
you do makes
17:33
me feel like I'm not crazy.
17:36
And that
17:38
there is a community of truth. And
17:41
there's people out there that will listen. And that's
17:44
it. I've been wanting to talk to you for a
17:46
while and I hope you have a great night.
