3:25

you on today's episode. I keep meaning to ask you

3:28

this, and I bet you didn't see it. Yeah.

3:30

I know. But, you know, SNL did

3:33

a skit on their new season. You know how they do

3:35

the music videos. Yeah. And it was all

3:37

about, and I sent you a link, but I forgot to follow up

3:39

to see if you actually watched it. But it's

3:41

all about like, I like murder shows.

3:43

Yes. And then it goes into,

3:45

and then the guy comes in because it's women and their

3:47

murder shows. And then the guy comes

3:50

in, he's like, cult shows. Yes. Oh

3:52

my God, this is so me and Tony. Yeah.

3:57

I like, it's like they wrote that with you

3:59

in mind. I know I like that

4:01

so me I don't know why like on the

4:03

weekends Because you watch one of those shows and

4:05

it's like oh my god Who done it gotta

4:08

watch it till the end and then it goes

4:10

right into another one Well, I gotta watch that

4:12

one and then if it goes

4:14

into some kind of cult programming Well, I gotta

4:16

watch all that shit Oh, yeah, the

4:18

cult ones the cult shows are like a cult

4:20

for me like cuz I like it's so into

4:23

the cult shows Like

4:25

the the Leah Remney one about Scientology

4:27

and there was like like People magazine

4:29

investigates cults. There's a whole bunch of

4:31

those There's a

4:33

bunch of cult shows and I just I totally I

4:36

don't know why I'm just I'm drawn into the cults

4:38

And they're usually multiple episodes Yeah, like

4:40

it's not just one and done because

4:43

you can't sell cult show in one

4:45

hour. Yeah It's

4:47

yeah, I'd totally get it. But that was

4:50

a funny little bit. They did it was I I

4:52

saw that I also saw the Dion Warwick

4:55

bit to the Dion Warwick show, right? That

4:57

was funny. That was very good. Yep. Yep

5:01

855 853 4802 our phone number of real ghost

5:03

stories online. Let's go to our first letter. It

5:05

says hello And thank you for reading this I'd

5:07

like to start off by saying quick I enjoy

5:10

y'all stuff so much recently discovered y'all in Spotify

5:12

while searching for something new to listen to I've

5:14

had a lot of fun binging the available episodes.

5:16

Thanks for giving me something to do during this

5:19

crazy season I was reminded of a story of

5:21

my my own a few episodes in

5:23

that I'd like to share I

5:25

have had a couple creepy experiences, but this one

5:28

is the one that has been weird to me

5:30

I have no idea what it was I'm along the

5:32

lines of a skeptic I'd say as

5:35

a Christian I do believe that there are entities

5:37

such as angels and demons and spirits But I

5:39

do not know how I feel about the whole

5:41

classification part of it if that makes any sense

5:43

at all It's happened about two years

5:45

ago when I was 18 my cousin

5:47

will call her Lily and I had gotten together for

5:49

the week She and I have

5:51

been awfully close since we were toddlers given

5:54

that we're the only girls on that side

5:56

of the family closest in age We've

5:58

always spent a ton of time together My family at

6:00

the time had a house rented on Airbnb

6:02

that stood on a fair amount of land.

6:05

It has long since been sold to someone

6:07

else. It was not being used

6:10

for the next few weeks. My

6:12

parents agreed that Lily and I could stay there

6:14

for the week. There's two of us. Our very

6:16

first night hit, being a

6:18

teenage girl, that we were. We decided to

6:20

watch a horror movie. Lily

6:22

and I have always been on

6:24

the spookier side. We were fascinated

6:27

by ghost hunting shows. We started

6:29

exploring supposedly haunted locations, reading creepypastas,

6:31

the works. She even dated

6:33

a girl that was very attuned to the spirit

6:35

world, though I was a little skeptical of that

6:38

one. But we loved

6:40

that stuff. Once the movie

6:42

ended, we headed to bed, adequately spooked. We'd taken

6:44

the room of the house that had two beds,

6:46

not wanting to be alone in the rooms, on

6:48

a plot of land that was fairly secluded after

6:51

that movie. We didn't sleep much, too

6:53

scared and too giggly. But other

6:55

than the creeks of the house settling and the

6:57

occasional mountain lion screams and coyotes, we were fine.

7:00

Fast forward to night, too. It's around 2 a.m. I

7:02

was half asleep, and I heard Lily call my name. She

7:05

sleep talks a bit, so I figured it was just that, so

7:07

I ignored it. Then I heard, Ray,

7:11

what are you doing standing in the doorway? I

7:14

rolled over, thinking it's still her mumbling in her sleep,

7:16

and I responded with, I'm in bed, it's fine. She

7:20

sat bolt upright. Then, who's in the

7:22

doorway? The way the room was

7:24

set up, her bed was positioned that she was

7:26

right in front of the door. There was a

7:28

walled, shutting out beside the door where the closet was,

7:30

and from where my bed was set, that was all

7:32

blocked by my line of sight in that direction, so

7:34

I had no idea what she was seeing. Lily

7:37

demands that I turn on

7:40

the lamp, and I do. According to her,

7:42

the figure left as soon as it went on. I

7:44

searched the whole house, all windows locked, as were

7:46

the doors. I even checked the crawl space and

7:49

nothing. She explained to me

7:51

later that she thought I had gone into the bathroom and

7:53

then just stopped in the doorway on my way as a

7:55

joke. We left the light on the rest

7:57

of the night. Night three hits.

8:00

I chalked the incident up to her maybe

8:02

waking up from a nightmare, maybe even sleep

8:04

paralysis, even though she had insisted

8:06

it was neither. It's around 2am-3am

8:08

and she calls my name again,

8:11

this time with the order to look

8:14

at her. I rolled over in

8:16

bed and honestly I did not know what it was. I want to

8:18

call it a shadow person. That's the best thing

8:20

I can describe it as. It was

8:22

this weird, lanky, humanoid-shaped black mass

8:25

that was positioned over her bed. It

8:27

was almost crouched like a golem and

8:30

it was just looking at Lily.

8:33

It did not feel evil, simply curious, but

8:36

it scared the living daylights out of me. I

8:38

remember swearing up a storm, screaming for it to

8:40

leave, that it was not welcome and that we

8:42

did not give permission anything I could think of.

8:45

It looked at me and then just vanished. Poof!

8:48

Lily! And I left in the house that night, showing

8:51

up to my parents at four in the morning. What's

8:54

interesting is we had never had reports of anything from

8:56

renters, so I have no idea what it was that

8:58

I saw. Part of me wonders

9:00

if the horror movie we watched opened some sort of gateway,

9:02

but it's been my most

9:05

notable paranormal experience I had

9:07

so far. Thank you for

9:09

reading this. I hope you enjoyed. I

9:11

may come back with other stories as

9:14

well. Thoughts?

9:18

Do you think that just by

9:20

watching a scary movie that would

9:22

open that up? Now

9:25

I could see watching a

9:27

scary movie and you have

9:29

vivid dreams or maybe even

9:31

seeing things that aren't there, but I

9:33

don't know that a scary movie is going to

9:35

open up things. I got the feeling there's stuff

9:37

that was already there. Maybe

9:40

it made him more sensitive to it. Maybe

9:43

like enticed it to come out. I

9:46

don't know that it's necessarily going to

9:48

create a haunting, but I think

9:51

that there's ways and things that

9:53

could stir one

9:55

up that exists. That

9:58

would be what I would say. I don't think you

10:01

watch a movie in me. I don't know.

10:04

There's interesting things out there. I never

10:06

like reading or saying demon names out

10:09

loud. I know there's

10:11

some movies that flat out list

10:13

a ton of them. What

10:15

was it? The old girl saying any demon names. No,

10:18

I'm thinking the movie name. It

10:21

was almost 20 years old, I think. It

10:24

was the one where the girl walks backwards on

10:26

her back and her hands. The

10:28

exorcist. No, no. This is a more

10:30

modern one. The possession

10:32

of Natalie Rose or something like that.

10:34

You're right. She doesn't have. This

10:37

was more like I was early

10:39

20s, I think, when it came out. Something

10:43

like that. That was an interesting one.

10:47

They're rattling him off. I don't

10:49

know. I don't know if just saying things

10:51

like that, even though a human being is

10:53

not speaking it aloud in the

10:55

room, it's coming from a taped device. I

10:59

don't know. I

11:01

would venture to say that it would stir something up that

11:03

exists more than anything else. Yeah,

11:06

and that first part where she

11:09

thinks she's talking in her sleep, that seemed

11:11

like right out of a movie. Yeah.

11:14

Like, no, go back to sleep. No, what

11:16

is it that's looking at is in the doorway. Oh

11:20

my God. But I get that. I

11:22

would be leaving in the middle of the night too. Sure.

11:25

Because that's just the way I am. That would

11:27

be way too. I'm out. Way

11:30

too creepy to, I think, be

11:32

able to say, oh yeah, let's just stay here and we'll be

11:34

good. Right? I

11:36

don't think. Like why? If

11:38

you're already feeling creeped out, it doesn't go away. And

11:40

then the next day you're just going to wake up

11:42

exhausted. Well, because you're not going to wake up, actually.

11:44

You're going to be awake all night. Or

11:47

you'll be dead. Dead. Pop

11:49

off. Dead. Dead.

11:51

I have a good effect for that. Just a sec. Dead.

11:56

No, where is it? Dead. Dead.

12:04

It's great that we have these toys that we can

12:06

play with. I never get to do that. No, no,

12:08

no. I have to find it. 855-853-4802

12:11

is our phone number at Real Ghost

12:13

Stories online. Hi, let's hear your story.

12:15

Hi guys, I would like to share

12:17

this story and it's really weird that

12:19

I don't know how to put this

12:21

in certain categories so I decided to

12:24

share it. So, two

12:26

weeks ago I was

12:28

on a launch break when a coworker approached me

12:30

and asked me if, why am

12:32

I not choosing the new phone? I

12:34

said, what new phone? And I thought

12:36

it was one

12:39

of those phones that the company was raffled

12:41

in and I thought I actually want something

12:43

and he said, oh the phone

12:45

that you're testing earlier this day is stored inside

12:47

a store. And I

12:49

asked what store and what phone. I

12:53

didn't go to any of the stores this

12:55

day. He said,

12:57

no, I saw

12:59

you basically wearing the same thing.

13:01

You're testing this. And he mentioned

13:03

the brand. And I said,

13:05

no, I didn't go to the store. And

13:08

by this time I was shocked

13:12

because there's a backstory. And

13:15

we went back and forth, me trying to convince

13:17

him that I didn't go to the store and

13:19

didn't go to the store and he was

13:22

trying to convince himself that it was me

13:24

that he saw because the

13:26

details, he said I was wearing the

13:28

same thing. And

13:32

in the end he just said, it's

13:34

probably not true because he's checking

13:36

an android device. And you're an

13:38

apple guy. And

13:41

he then said, you know what, forget about

13:43

it. It's just a coincidence. And

13:47

yeah, I said yes, probably

13:49

a coincidence. But even

13:51

inside I was really shocked because as I

13:53

said before, there's a backstory. Now

13:56

for that specific day, I'm

13:59

supposed to drive a car. by the store.

14:02

Yes and to

14:05

get a new phone. The

14:08

only reason why I didn't make it

14:10

to the store is because of this

14:12

weird traffic jam that

14:14

I got myself into and I

14:19

know that road that I usually

14:21

use. We don't have traffic

14:23

that we don't usually have traffic jam but

14:26

suddenly there is one and for

14:30

no reason, there is

14:32

actual reason that the City Council decided

14:34

to dug up a hole in detour

14:36

everyone to another road but it took

14:39

like half an hour and I said if

14:42

I drop by the store I'll be late to work

14:44

so I decided to

14:46

go straight to work but the weird

14:49

thing not only that you

14:51

know this co-worker of mine

14:53

specified that this guy looked like he

14:55

was wearing the same thing. He

14:58

was testing this specific Android

15:01

smartphone brand and he

15:04

knows that I'm an Apple guy but due

15:07

to a recent update from a

15:09

company or

15:11

my specific office that some

15:14

application that we use at work

15:18

don't work with Apple and

15:20

we need an open source smartphone

15:23

or program so we need an

15:25

Android and I actually locked into

15:27

this specific brand because

15:30

this is exactly what

15:32

I need for photography and other

15:34

stuff and this

15:37

specific brand was the

15:39

same brand that my friend saw.

15:42

This guy who looked like me was

15:45

testing inside a store so

15:48

it was really a shocking thing

15:50

to hear from someone that you

15:53

know someone who who

15:55

looked like you as the same was

15:58

basically wearing the same thing like you and

16:00

testing the specific rent that

16:02

you're supposed to buy in a store that

16:04

you're supposed to go. What

16:07

a coincidence, if

16:09

it's really a coincidence, you know. And

16:13

I don't know how to explain, you know.

16:16

I was thinking, what if I made

16:18

it to that store? What if

16:20

there's no traffic? I'm going to

16:22

this person? And

16:28

I can't imagine if you end

16:31

up meeting someone, you know,

16:33

buying the same thing, going to the same

16:36

store, and you're wearing the same thing.

16:38

And as my friend said,

16:40

looking like, exactly like, yeah,

16:43

that's going to be a weird experience. But I

16:46

was, recently I was actually trying

16:48

to get an answer and get into

16:51

something, saying that it's probably

16:54

an astral projection. Because

16:58

while I was stuck on traffic, I was

17:01

really imagining all these things that,

17:03

you know what, if it wasn't

17:05

for this traffic, I

17:07

could have been at the store testing this

17:09

phone, paying for it. And

17:14

is it because I was really thinking of

17:16

that event that my mind projected, something

17:20

inside that store, and it's exactly

17:23

the exact time that my friend

17:25

was passing by, as

17:29

weird, or is it a

17:31

time slip,

17:34

or weird, you

17:36

know, alternate reality or

17:39

something. But I don't know how to

17:42

call it alternate reality, if

17:44

that's also a reality. So

17:46

it's weird, I don't know how to call

17:49

it, I don't know how to categorize

17:52

these things. So I decided to share

17:54

the story, because I've been looking for

17:56

answers. Interesting

17:58

story. of I

18:01

don't know what it could be and it could really be

18:03

almost anything that that he had listed off there well

18:06

and what's crazy about a story like that is a

18:08

number of things but he's

18:11

looking for an answer that he'll never find

18:13

yeah because there's not ever going to there's

18:15

going to be a zillion theories and he

18:18

he gave quite a few but he'll

18:21

never know but that's a

18:23

bizarro coincidence yeah that

18:26

someone would say all that you know because

18:28

like I the

18:30

other day literally thought I found my

18:32

sister at Walmart oh really yeah and

18:35

I took a picture of her and

18:37

I to the woman who

18:39

I think must have noticed I was taking

18:41

her picture because she was looking right at

18:43

me so you were really uh

18:45

really uh yeah well with the

18:47

mask on like I haven't sent it to

18:50

my sister and I'm like okay

18:52

you were in my town today and she's

18:55

like that's really weird because it looks

18:57

just like I know it does

18:59

did the woman wearing an outfit like she would

19:01

wear and and it was

19:04

just really strange I'll have to send you the picture

19:06

because it looks just like my sister yeah did

19:09

the woman say anything to you when you were taking her

19:11

picture in the store I

19:14

tried to act like oh look at me I'm making

19:16

a phone call I

19:18

didn't do a very good job as

19:21

I hold it up with my left hand

19:24

I'm gonna I know that's exactly what

19:26

I was doing and I'm gonna send it to you

19:29

but it was just like I don't

19:32

you know it just so so that

19:35

my brother was in town that night and I'm like look at

19:37

this woman from the grocery store today like

19:40

it looks exactly like Kathy and

19:42

he's like oh my god that's

19:44

so weird and send

19:46

it I don't know I don't know if you've seen my

19:49

sister since she let her hair go totally

19:51

gray it looks amazing by the way but

19:53

I just sent it sometimes it takes a minute for

19:55

something to go through to you for whatever reason

19:58

text message it to me But

20:02

um, so I don't know because

20:04

that definitely was not my sister because the KU

20:06

game was going on and she was watching the

20:08

KU game of course But

20:10

it was just really strange because you know

20:12

somebody like your sister I know her so

20:15

well, but for that guy to be like

20:17

you were wearing the same outfit You

20:20

were oh my god. Yeah I

20:22

know, it sounds like my sister That

20:25

does. Like it's creepy weird like zoom in

20:27

on it like it looks exactly like her I

20:29

like how she her eyes are directed directly

20:31

at the lens of your camera. She totally

20:34

saw me taking her Did

20:36

she say anything though? She just kept doing her thing.

20:38

She kept doing her thing and I was

20:41

like, okay She just saw me but if she

20:43

says anything, I'm just gonna say look you look

20:45

so much like my sister. It's a little creepy

20:47

Yeah And I'm

20:49

taking this to send my sister. That's so

20:51

I mean that Happens. Yeah

20:54

that I think we all have someone because then we

20:56

got a long conversation Got

20:58

in a long conversation about it that night because my brother

21:00

has One and we went

21:02

on a cruise with him. I was in radio.

21:04

I take all these people on cruises and This

21:08

guy looks just like my brother and even when they

21:10

met each other. They were both like oh Like

21:14

they didn't even really want to be around each other

21:17

Because they would be like, yeah, yeah No,

21:21

it could be something like that You

21:24

know, I think that's the easier

21:26

most logical explanation. Yeah But

21:28

the fact that he was doing what that guy

21:31

was getting ready to go do that's

21:33

kind of weird. That is weird Thank you

21:35

for sharing that experience with us.

21:37

It's creepy and different. We don't

21:39

get many of those not written No,

21:41

I mean that that are you very you I

21:43

mean everybody has their stories But after literally

21:46

now creating the world's largest audio archive of

21:48

ghost stories It is hard to get one

21:50

on where we can't say I've heard something

21:53

similar to that Right and and

21:55

I've heard things somewhat similar to that But there was an

21:57

interesting twist on that one that kind of made it to

21:59

all its all its own. It

22:01

was very specific. Yeah. We found

22:04

Apple, the Android, all

22:06

of it. 855-853-4802 is

22:10

our number. Let's go to the caller. Hi, you're on the air. Hey

22:13

everybody, it's summer in Buffalo. How

22:15

are you guys doing today? I have

22:18

an update for you, something that just happened to

22:21

us a couple days ago. We were in

22:23

our house and we

22:25

were all in the, it was dinner

22:30

time, so we were all in the kitchen. All

22:33

of the kids were sitting at the counter, like the seven

22:35

year old, the eight year old, the two year old, my

22:38

twenty four year old, my daughter and I were both in

22:40

there. The only person not in

22:42

there was my husband and his office

22:44

is upstairs, so he was working. We

22:46

were handing out dinner and

22:48

we were talking and

22:51

I said, well, we got to get Phil's attention

22:53

so he can come downstairs.

22:56

All of a sudden we heard someone

22:58

running down the stairs, like really

23:00

loud, like stomping kind of elephanty,

23:03

kind of heavy boots all the way down

23:05

to where my daughter, I

23:08

said, oh, I said speak to the devil and up

23:10

he pops. My daughter

23:12

goes over and she

23:14

goes, mom, there's nobody there. I went,

23:17

that's ridiculous. Even the seven

23:21

and eight year old piped up and said, well, we heard

23:24

Phil come down the stairs. I'm like, of course

23:26

he's there. And

23:29

she said, mom, there's nobody in the stairs. And

23:32

we all heard it, all of us, all

23:35

of us, me, my daughter, the

23:37

two younger kids, the seven and eight year old,

23:40

we all heard someone come down the

23:42

stairs and enough that like my seven year old

23:44

was like, I'm really scared and I want to

23:46

go back out there. And I told her,

23:48

I said, my granddaughter, I told her, honey,

23:50

it's okay, there's nothing that's going to hurt

23:53

you. It'll

23:55

be okay.

23:57

So I know I

23:59

called off. back and you

24:02

guys talk about how not

24:05

scared I seem to be and it's

24:08

not that I'm not scared.

24:10

I've just kind of experienced this stuff my

24:12

whole life so I know

24:15

that if you don't give

24:17

it the attention that it

24:19

doesn't, you know, most of the time

24:21

it doesn't get worse but

24:24

I think it's

24:27

kind of escalating a little bit. I

24:30

do have one more story but this

24:32

one I kind of chalk up to my own imagination

24:35

kind of creating something. I

24:39

was in the living room and my

24:43

kids had taken over our bed that night so

24:47

I went downstairs to sleep on the couch

24:49

because there was no room. And

24:52

so from the couch it

24:54

faces the doorway that leads into the kitchen

24:58

and I was at that stage

25:00

like right before you fall asleep but you're

25:02

not awake, you're not asleep kind of thing

25:04

and all of a sudden I remember

25:07

looking over and in the doorway to

25:09

the kitchen was this tall black

25:11

mat with this hat

25:13

on. It wasn't

25:17

like a top hat, it looked, and

25:19

it wasn't a cowboy hat either but it

25:21

was squareish looking, it was very weird. It

25:23

wasn't, it definitely wasn't a top hat, it

25:25

had a round top but it, you

25:28

know, the brim of it was very kind of square and but

25:30

it was, I just remember it being this black mat

25:32

and it startled me like I

25:34

screamed awake and

25:36

there was nothing there. So I don't know

25:38

if it was just my brain kind of

25:40

inventing something because I was kind of half

25:43

awake, half asleep anyway and that's probably all

25:45

it was but I kind of wanted

25:47

to talk about that too so yeah. I'm

25:52

scared and I'm not scared, you know, I'm

25:54

worried because I definitely don't want my kids

25:56

to be hurt or I don't want anybody

25:59

really to be hurt in my life. house.

26:01

I again don't feel like that that

26:04

I don't know what to think of it anymore. I'm

26:07

just telling you what we experience and that's

26:11

what we do. And to

26:13

your point, the last

26:16

time I called Tony you had said that maybe

26:21

what we experience is different from other

26:23

people. I can tell you my husband

26:25

experiences absolutely nothing. He is not

26:27

a kind of open

26:31

that way. He doesn't believe

26:33

in ghosts. He is absolutely

26:35

the skeptic and he always

26:37

always always tries to just

26:39

say, oh it was the air. It was the

26:41

window being open and stuff

26:44

like that. He's always been that way.

26:46

So I can tell you in that

26:48

house he's had a couple experiences that

26:50

he's written off as nothing but he

26:53

is definitely the

26:55

one in the family that is

26:57

not sensitive at all. Whereas the rest of us

26:59

are like, what's going on now? Anyway

27:03

so yes Carol and to

27:05

answer your comment, yeah, I'm

27:08

pretty scared some of the time. But

27:11

I do know that you don't do

27:13

things that can, you

27:15

don't respond with fear. You respond

27:17

with, okay, that's

27:20

nice. Now go away. You know

27:22

typically that stuff goes away. Or

27:24

it doesn't or it's just, you

27:27

know, like we don't know. We don't know

27:29

what it's like in the afterlife. So maybe it's just

27:31

people saying, hey I just happen to be here and

27:34

just hanging out. Who knows? Anyway,

27:37

you guys have a great day. I'll talk to

27:39

you later and I'll call you if anything

27:41

else happens, which I'm sure it will. I love

27:45

my house. Absolutely love it. But

27:48

yeah, you guys

27:50

have definitely benefited from our

27:52

crazy that's going on in there. Anyway, I'll

27:54

talk to you soon. Bye. Thank you

27:56

for sharing that with us. Thoughts? I

27:58

like her. Yeah. You

28:01

know, when she was telling the first

28:03

story about hearing somebody come

28:05

down the stairs, which is one of those

28:07

things that's so recognizable,

28:09

like you're doing your thing, you're making

28:11

dinner, everybody's ready, you're plating it up,

28:13

dad, come on down and here he

28:15

comes down the stairs and then he's

28:17

not there. Like, you know,

28:19

you heard it and

28:22

then he's not there. But then when she said

28:24

that about the kids kind of getting freaked out,

28:26

then as a mom, that's when you

28:28

have to step up and be like, hey, maybe

28:31

we didn't hear that after all. So

28:33

I do get why you can't really panic

28:35

about it because you have kids and

28:38

you have to, you know, last thing you want

28:40

to do is be like, I don't know what

28:42

that was. Oh my

28:44

God, something's not there. You

28:48

can't do that. That's not a healthy

28:50

parenting technique. Is that what you're saying?

28:52

Freaking out randomly and things that are

28:54

not worth reading. I wouldn't recommend

28:56

that kind of parenting to anybody.

29:02

And then I think the other thing that

29:04

benefits that home is having

29:06

the dad be like, yeah, that was

29:08

just the wind blowing the door open.

29:11

Yeah, you didn't hear that. Probably some fell down

29:13

the stairs. That was the dog. You

29:15

know, he might offset it enough

29:17

too, that then you

29:19

question it a little bit. Like

29:22

it's crazy, but he didn't hear it.

29:24

That was kind of the dynamic in my

29:26

parents. My mom wasn't like extreme freak out

29:28

or anything like that, but it would be

29:30

like, what do you think that is? What

29:33

was it? Should we do, you know, and just, you know, should we do

29:35

this? Should we do that? But wasn't, she wouldn't

29:37

like freak me out about things. She

29:40

would, they made kind of like they did whisper

29:42

loudly. I don't think they really sound loud. They

29:44

were sometimes. And

29:47

but my dad on the other hand would always

29:49

be like, that's nothing. It's that the, that's about

29:51

like. So you have one

29:53

who's like overly aware of

29:55

everything and the other one who is utterly

29:58

oblivious to most things. And

30:00

it was just, oh my

30:02

God. And I'm like in the

30:04

middle going, okay, now, we shouldn't be freaking

30:06

out this much, but we also shouldn't be ignoring it

30:08

this much. This is where we just go in the

30:10

middle and go, let's just see what's going on. What

30:13

was that noise? Why can't we just get up off

30:15

the couch and look? Things

30:17

like that. So

30:19

it's scary and weird as a kid. You

30:22

don't feel like you're in either direction

30:25

because one's oblivious and then one's just, really

30:28

uber aware of things. Well,

30:31

and I think one is just more

30:33

open to it. And I

30:36

think you can really shut yourself down to

30:38

it. And, you know, I don't

30:40

believe in that shit. The good thing is

30:42

at the end of the day, you get a kid like me. Who

30:47

ends up making a living doing podcasts about

30:49

that shit? Exactly. Someone who's super anxious

30:51

and all of that. And I make

30:53

podcasts about ghosts. So there you go.

30:55

At least I'm not living in their

30:57

basement. So I guess that's a plus.

31:02

I always threaten that to them. Yeah, yeah. Well,

31:04

I think I'm good. I don't think

31:06

that's ever gonna be a thing. It's

31:09

gonna wrap. My God, I could not imagine living with

31:11

my mother. Oh my God, I could never. No

31:14

way in hell. No way.

31:16

I, several years back, like

31:19

almost, God, probably like 20 years

31:21

back, I was

31:24

going through a breakup and the

31:26

apartment was, I

31:30

was paying for it, it was all in my name,

31:32

but as we were trying to like figure things out,

31:34

I said, you know, you stay here because my family

31:36

lived closer. I said, you stay in the apartment, you

31:39

know, until you figure out, you know, your place and all that,

31:41

I'll just go stay with my parents for like a week or

31:43

two or whatever. So I did that.

31:46

Oh my God, that week or two or whatever was like,

31:49

oh my God. Over and over. Yeah,

31:52

and I love my parents, but I

31:54

can't, I mean, I graduated

31:56

this semester of my high school year because I

31:58

really wanted to move up. Okay, and they

32:00

weren't bad people. They weren't abusive or

32:03

anything like that. It's just conflict of

32:05

personality and It was

32:07

just you know It would be it's like

32:09

I kind of looked at as like Jerry

32:12

Seinfeld and then living like with Jerry's parents

32:14

It was that sort of a dynamic where

32:16

it was like my god, you know, what

32:18

are you doing? And Yeah,

32:21

it is what it is. I love my parents, but

32:23

it's it's just that so Yeah,

32:27

you can't go home. It's not

32:29

the same dynamic Treat

32:31

you like you're 15 exactly and that's that

32:33

it just is what it is That's

32:36

gonna wrap up today's episode of real ghost stories

34:33

This country was built on a distinctly

34:35

American work ethic. But today,

34:37

work is in trouble. We've outsourced

34:40

most of our manufacturing to other countries.

34:42

And with that, we've sent away good jobs

34:45

and diminished our capability to make things. American

34:47

Giant is a clothing company that's pushing back

34:50

against this tide. They make

34:52

a variety of high-quality clothing and

34:54

activewear, like sweatshirts, jeans, dresses, jackets,

34:56

and so much more. All made

34:58

right here in the USA, from

35:00

growing the cotton to adding the

35:02

final touches. So when you

35:04

buy American Giant, you create jobs for

35:07

seamsters, cutters, and factory workers in towns

35:09

and cities across the United States. And

35:12

it's about more than an income. Jobs

35:14

bring pride, purpose. They

35:16

stitch people together. If
