According to AdoptionNetwork.com, on average there are about 428,000 children in the United States who are in foster care. Each year, 135, 000 children are adopted from foster care. More than 60 percent of them spent two to five years in foster before being adopted.

Natalie Chavis Fisher is a best-selling author, third-generation attorney and executive producer for the feature documentary Foster Care: Perfect Imperfection. Natalie sits down with Red Hen Moves explains the process of foster care adoption. She also discusses how she works to help children get the support they need during a tumultuous time in their lives.
