May is Mental Health Awareness Month and one place where there is increasing attention being paid to better mental health is in our schools. Recently, local schools have been seeking grants that will help the schools place mental health professionals in the schools and available to help kids in need. RaeAnn Tucker with the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the role the Health Department is playing in help schools explore bringing in Mental Health professionals. RaeAnn also talked about the ongoing effort at the Health Department to hand out free Gun Locks courtesy of the Illinois Department of Health.
