I'm going to leave this one unedited because ultimately, I want to speak from the heart. In this week's episode I'm going to keep it personal and local to Eastern Oregon. Back in 1855 there was a Treaty signed between the US government and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The Treaty gave the tribes a bunch of rights and land for us to call home. This week was the time when that Treaty was signed, and a multitude of events happened. Just going to go through the timeline of what happened in the past week. Also, I will cover a story about Higher Education for Tribal Students in Oregon and how a grant will pay for almost everything for Tribal Students for about 1 year. There was a lot of sacrifice in order for us indigenous folk to be here today. We must do the same to help those generations ahead. After 167 years, we still remain. Listen in and remember where you came from!
