We visit Meridian Energy's White Hill Wind Farm where site manager Peter Mason talks about the way the 29 giant turbines crank out 58MW of electricity - enough to supply 30,000 homes. We also look at how wind is used for recreation. Finally we visit Caroline Carter's farm at Te Anau which uses a combination of wind and solar power backed up by a diesel generator. She plans to add a small hydro-electric system.
