What I like about this is that it takes classic mythology (such as devil dogs) places them in two/three ways - firstly as manifestation of humanity's imagination; secondly within a 21st Century relatable context and finally keeps their mythology real. Not only does this podcast explain the mythology it also does so as an audio-drama without coming off as a podcast where two or more hosts discuss stuff - it's drama, that is grounded, and yet allows the imagination to run... Thoroughly enjoyable! Keep at it! Looking forward to episode 9 and more to come!
really love this show!! so charming and cozy. the writing, the characters, the sound design, all create and draw you into this mythological place and it always leaves you wanting to come back for more. there’s a lovely educational aspect to this show that teaches you about the beings that inhabit the park- some of them familiar, some you may not have heard of before! wonderfully made all around, the characters and “found footage” format of the show really draws listeners into its world and furthers the mystery around the park and those who frequent it. would recommend, and cant wait for the second season!
So excited to see where this story goes! I love hearing about the characters and creatures who find their way to the fantastically park.
This is a really enjoyable and intriguing podcast. The main character Alina has a great delivery and the voice acting overall is terrific. I also like the use of music to set the mood, and the fx and foleys are really immersive and help to transport the listener to some fantastic places. Close your eyes and listen - you'll see what I mean!
Clean, immersive sound design creates the unique experience of exploring Proserpina Park along with Alina and friends. Each episode brings more to learn about myths and legends, along with revealing a little more of the unfolding mystery. The dialogue manages the tricky task of being informative but not stilted, and the actors complement each other well. I'm ready to return to the park in season 2!
Original, funny, and well produced! If you're looking for a little something mythical, you've come to the right park!
With excellent voice acting, accurate retelling of old mythologies, and a soundscape that boggles the mind, RoPP is redefining what and audio drama is with their unique and incredible storytelling. Incredible work, you guys, keep it up!
Really love the show! Each character is so endearing and every episode keeps me wanting more! I feel like I'm really learning about mythological creatures the more I listen, and would wholeheartedly recommend this show to everyone!
An immersive cerebral exploration of myths and myth making. Angela Yih's writing guides use through a loosely connected narrative filled at every turn with monsters, creatures, and a surprising bit of history inside the bounds of this mysterious park. If you enjoy monster-of-the-week format, this one's for you.
Residents of Proserpina Park feels like a product of a different time. It's very much in line with the quality of modern day audio drama, but there's something distinct about the styling and atmosphere that reminds me of a childhood show. It manages to be educational at times, heartwarming at others. Sometimes I find myself chewing on a mystery while other times I simply wish the characters the best in life. I wish I had better words to describe how much I enjoy this show, but one thing I do know how to communicate succinctly is that, this show is criminally underrated.
Residents of Proserpina Park features a very well-cast production, lively creatures that spark one's curiosity, and a story world that feels both cozy and wildly unhinged at the same time. What the heck is this dude doing walking a three-headed dog? Does he earn thrice the wages of a regular dog walker? And who owns his freakish "dog"? Something's definitely going on around this park full of mythical creatures and I think it's more than just toxic waste runoff at the local nuclear power plant. Come meet the residents!
