Carl Adolf von Sydow (1929 - 2020) was the legendary Swedish actor whose name was synonymous with the great Ingmar Bergman. But the stoic thespian's talents reached far beyond his homeland and found himself a pivotal actor supplying Hollywood with the tall, slender, European villain they so desperately desired.
