The theme of the conference is Retirement Readiness for a rapidly aging population. Singapore has one of the world's lowest fertility rates and longest life expectancies, thus making it one of the fastest aging nations. With such demographic characteristics, the island nation is confronted with the challenge of developing sound policies and infrastructure to adequately prepare its citizens for retirement. This conference brings together policymakers, industry practitioners, academics and other experts to discuss the various challenges faced by an aging population. The speakers will share how advanced countries such as Australia and the United States of America prepare their citizens for retirement. We hope that by learning from best practices, we can develop the necessary infrastructure and facilities for Singaporeans to age gracefully.
