Route 1 Box 61 features the three youngest of 18 children in the Reed family. That's right, 18 children. The family is the result of the more than 60-year union of Floyd and Gennora Reed. The three youngest siblings--sisters Rachel, Gennora and Elvon-- develop podcast episodes moderated by their niece Audrey. The podcasts are named Route 1 Box 61 for the original address of the family's more than 100-year-old farming property in Arkansas.Every episode tackles a subject that somehow connects back to their rearing on the family farm in the Arkansas Delta region. The sisters make each other laugh, think and sometimes wanna cry. You have to hear it to experience it. You'll likely hear that their life experiences are not that different from stories from you and your friendsAt the conclusion of each episode, each sister decides who or what they want to "go'n to the house". This is a phrase from back home that means when you're just done with someone and they shouldn't be in your presence anymore. They've got to go on to the house.
