Guest Speaker Nancy Wahl Discusses Her First TCS NYC Marathon Experience with Podcast Host Alli Felsenthal
Nancy Wahl is a non-runner who became a NYC Marathon FINISHER after completing her first TCS NYC Marathon this past November 2019. In Nancy's own words:You just don’t quit.  You set your mind to do it and then do it.  My passion is driven by the knowledge that quitting will have repercussions way worse than sticking it out and seeing it to the end.  That pain is only temporary (if there happens to be pain). That it’s just a hill, get over it.  That this is a gift. And as long as the universe gives you the legs to do it, you do it.  My legs work in the rain, in the snow, in the heat, in the cold, at night, in the morning, on vacation, and when I’m rushed for time.  Therefore there are no excuses.  So I just just, freaking, do it.  Because I know that when I am heading up the stairs into my apartment after a run, I will not moan, “Uhhhh I wish I hadn’t done that.”  I’ll always be glad that I did that mile, that 10 miles at 4:00 am, that 18 miles in the heat, that first (and hopefully not the last) 26.2.
