John Cherrie is Professor of Human Health and Heriot Watt University and Principal Scientist at the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) in Edinburgh. He participated in the British occupational cancer burden assessment and led the SHEcan Project that provided estimates of health and socioeconomic impact from possible changes to the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive in Europe. John is currently Principal Investigator for a study to estimate occupational cancer burden in the constructions sector in Singapore. He is a Past President of the British Occupational Hygiene Society and in 2014 won the Bedford Medal for outstanding contributions to the discipline of occupational hygiene. John has been providing advice to IOSH on their “No time to Lose” campaign on occupational cancer.Recorded 09th June 2015 at NUI Galway.
