Any music in the world is composed of 12 Notes of an Octave. In Indian classical music these notes are called as follows in ascending sequence (Aaroh):

1 Shadaj; 2 komal rishabh;  3 shudh rishabh; 4 komal gandhar; 5 shudh gandhar; 6 shudh madhyam; 

7 Teevra madhyam; 8 Pancham; 9 komal dhaivat; 10 shudh dhaivat; 11 komal nishad; 12 shudh nishad
