1:40

got someone or something

1:42

crawling around out here.

1:46

Did you

1:49

see what it was? It

1:51

was standing up. I don't

1:53

want to go outside. Hello?

2:01

Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? Son of

2:03

a bitch, it's about 6'9". I don't know. Do you

2:05

see a mail, sir? Yes, I broke it right in. Uh-oh. Greetings

2:08

from Alaska. What I

2:10

want to share with you today is an email I got just

2:12

last week. What I try to do, just so

2:14

everyone's aware, I read your emails repetitively because

2:17

I've been

2:19

through some things. I'm going

2:21

to be doing a video on the road. I'm going to be doing a video on the road. I'm going to

2:23

be doing a video on the road. I'm going to be doing a video on the road. My

2:55

first weather incident occurred. It was approximately

2:57

three years ago. It was

2:59

at the end of Caribou hunting. They

3:01

were back up in there doing trout fishing. They

3:04

had a canoe. But most of the

3:06

time, it was at a narrow part of the river. They

3:09

would drag it, right? Now it

3:11

wasn't the main yetna, let me specify.

3:15

It was a glorified river

3:17

creek that fed into the yetna. It

3:20

was fairly shallow, fairly narrow, and the

3:22

trout were in some deep pockets. That's

3:24

where they were going for it. They

3:27

end up parking their boat, their

3:29

canoe. They get out and they walk along the

3:31

grassy edge on either side of this creek. Now,

3:35

when they get to the point to start fishing,

3:37

initially, there's two of them as

3:40

the day goes on because they were

3:42

there for three days before this incident

3:44

occurred. They were basically repeating the

3:46

same thing they had been doing for a

3:48

couple days, going to this little honey hole

3:50

for pan frying trout and

3:52

loving it. They're having a great time.

3:54

They had a successful hunt. That's

3:56

living the dream. You got your Caribou meat for the winter.

3:58

Now you're going to go, man. lean to some trout,

4:01

cook them over and over. It

4:03

doesn't get much better. So they're

4:06

doing their thing. They got a little rhythm down with their

4:08

movements and stuff. Their third buddy shows

4:10

up. He was in hip waders and

4:12

he just sloshed on through the water and took his

4:14

time hiking around on some of the game trails to

4:17

get back to where they were. They were very comfortable

4:19

where they were at. There had been

4:21

nothing out of the ordinary, not during

4:24

the caribou hunt, none of it. They were just

4:26

having a great old Alaskan experience. They're

4:29

all local. That's to leave that out because where they

4:31

happen to live is a very small place. Respect

4:34

that. Now, as they were talking across

4:36

this little creek, it's not very wide. There's this

4:38

one particular honey hole where there

4:40

was some old, either alders or willows

4:43

that had been broken and it kind

4:45

of hung down by this little

4:47

creek. Now right off the

4:49

side of this little glorified river

4:51

creek, it was about 10, 12 feet to

4:53

where the alders and

4:55

the willows got thick. So you had tall grass

4:57

on either side and some scrub brush and some

5:00

berry bushes and stuff. At this

5:02

particular spot, there was these willows or

5:05

alders, they are popular or something. They

5:08

didn't go and inspect. It was about 30 feet

5:10

from them where these branches and stuff

5:13

were going off into the water. And

5:15

just towards them from that little blockage or

5:17

hanging it over the water, it created a

5:19

shadow in the water and the trout would

5:22

pocket up in there in the relative safety.

5:24

They're doing the fly fishing thing instead of

5:26

just walking up the creek and scooping them

5:29

out with a net, they were fishing. So

5:31

they're doing their thing. He's working this fly rod and

5:34

as he's working it, his buddy on the opposite side

5:36

is trying to time him while

5:39

his fly lands and then he's pulling it back, the

5:41

other guy's trying to land his fly and pull it

5:43

back. They're just sticking around. They're just being guys. They're

5:45

doing stupid shit. They're having fun

5:47

with it and they're laughing because eventually they

5:49

started laughing at each other because it was

5:51

going really well and then all of a

5:53

sudden they got tired up and they reeled

5:55

in so they're closer together and they can

5:57

unlash the line. There

6:00

are opposite sides of this not very wide Creek

6:02

is about three times as wide as the canoe.

6:04

So you're looking at Six

6:07

seven feet wide not very wide at all

6:09

They're reaching out playing in the their lines to untangle

6:12

think they got boots on but they're just there young

6:15

early tots Third guy who

6:17

had on chest waders goes around will

6:19

come guy number one Okay,

6:22

let's call him Chris the guy across the

6:24

creek We'll call him Doug and we'll call

6:26

the guy in the hip or chest where

6:28

we'll call him Fred Okay,

6:31

just keep it simple Chris Doug and

6:33

Fred Fred goes around them and is

6:35

going up to check out that blockage And

6:37

he's laughing he goes. I'm gonna see if I could massage

6:39

one's belly and fling it out of the creek

6:42

I was gonna check his skills out see if he

6:44

could do it and so he goes over and he

6:46

starts removing the brush That was stuck in there and

6:48

he was like is there beavers around here and he

6:51

holds up one of the branches In

6:53

his freight and broke it It wasn't chewed

6:55

off like a beaver anyone ever see a

6:57

beaver chew if you haven't googly it's very

6:59

distinct He can't mistake it for anything else.

7:01

There was no beaver chew mark So then

7:04

I won't think he's like what that's weird It's almost like

7:06

someone must have did this in purpose

7:08

to make a little shadow area for the

7:11

fish, right? He was okay. I

7:13

get it. So he stopped destroying it. He

7:15

respects the fact that oh Someone intentionally

7:17

did this and that's why we're able to

7:20

fish for these trout right here because it's

7:22

giving them a sense of safety In the

7:24

shade and the shadow from

7:26

Hawks and whatever so he's okay. He

7:28

fixes it and he backs out He

7:31

gets out of the creek and he goes, okay He

7:34

recognizes he was about to destroy something

7:36

that worked for somebody that could be

7:38

potentially feeding him or whatever So he

7:40

backs up on the bank and they got their lines

7:42

untied and stuff And as they're

7:44

discussing what they're gonna do Here's

7:47

something hit the water and they're

7:49

like pull off says nearby because where they were

7:51

staying You have to follow this

7:53

river back down to where it meets the Yertner

7:55

And then you got to go back up River

7:57

to where they were camping or the cabin was

8:00

where they were at, right? So they're a little

8:02

ways away from the cabin room. And so as

8:04

they're sitting there discussing who could possibly be throwing

8:06

rocks in the creek and that type of thing,

8:09

who would want to do that, one

8:11

of them was armed. Only one of them

8:13

had a .22 pistol versus

8:16

Bruce Grouse or a small game. Bears

8:18

weren't on their radar. It

8:20

just didn't feel like a threatening environment. Nothing

8:23

had happened. So they felt, we don't need

8:25

a gun. Nothing big. We got a .22.

8:27

We'll make noise. It'll run whatever it is.

8:29

Periodically, rocks dropping. It's starting

8:32

to get to the point where they're looking

8:34

because they're figuring they would see the rocks

8:36

swinging in like this. But these things were

8:38

coming almost straight down. So whoever

8:40

was throwing them real high, so they'd come straight

8:42

down into the water. So they

8:44

catch on to this and they start looking in

8:48

what they thought would be the direction

8:50

they were coming, trying to figure out why

8:52

as they're doing this, Fred, and

8:55

the chest waders, he gets hit with

8:57

one of these rocks and he gets hit in

8:59

the back of his chest waders. He heard it

9:01

hit. Didn't really feel it too much

9:03

because they were really baggy. They ballooned out on

9:05

him with the straps. So he didn't really feel

9:08

the impact, but he heard the bulk against the

9:10

neoprene. And he was like, hey, whoever

9:12

it is, just hit me in the back with

9:14

it. So they all turn around to

9:16

look the direction that he got hit in the

9:18

back. Now, as they're doing this

9:21

behind them, they hear

9:23

that canoe ripped

9:25

out of the water. Just

9:27

if you can imagine that just

9:30

a canoe leaving the water really

9:32

fast and they all whip

9:34

around to see what the hell is this? All

9:37

they catch is a dark figure

9:40

halfway into the tree line and

9:42

the canoe just boom, impacting into

9:44

the brush. Now this all happened

9:46

very fast. A whoosh sound.

9:49

They whip around. Things are already halfway in the

9:51

trees. Canoes landing, right? Just

9:53

like that. And they're immediately

9:55

like, what the hell is

9:58

this? Because All this shit that was... The

10:00

neck a new is now. Raining

10:02

down and decorate in the Op side as

10:04

a creek were there canoe is now got

10:06

a new home and resting and all others

10:09

they didn't know what they'll do that they

10:11

they were stuck. And.

10:13

They were china make out. What

10:15

did we see? Cutting.

10:17

The those trees. What The? What

10:20

Was that? Big. Foot harry

10:22

man know that was even on their

10:24

radar. They never entertain the thought. Ever.

10:28

And. I ask? do. You. Know, soccer. I'm

10:30

about as extreme as I said. What was your

10:32

knowledge of the Harry Matter big Foot before the

10:34

zoos are you? It's you'd hear stuff, but he's

10:36

like I never looked at that career that was

10:39

garbage. There's no way I was gonna wrap my

10:41

mind with that. He got a hillbilly bullshit. Bow.

10:43

They are cursed. Can you? on. No

10:46

prior experience with these kind of things. Their.

10:48

Stuff. They're looking at each other, but none of

10:50

them have the words. None of

10:52

them have the words to get

10:54

out in express how they're feeling.

10:57

It wasn't like Ptsd traumatizing. But.

10:59

They were in a certain level of

11:01

shock. I. Could imagine you're in a

11:04

mill nowhere. don't believe in the nursing all the

11:06

said caboose. Your. New Goes find.

11:08

Any see a dark figure gone into his. News

11:11

or not like this was the sixteen

11:13

foot marine grade. Can a comb and.

11:16

Those. Things way, she's almost two hundred

11:18

pounds. Just another themselves. Us

11:20

It was loaded with. Cooler gear.

11:23

All this stuff. This.

11:25

Was their little base camp when they got away from

11:27

the main camp. Cause. They would spike camp

11:29

along the at the river and stuff. So

11:32

that they had some stuff in there wasn't

11:34

just some if do I waiting. The singles

11:36

was a good thirty feet. So.

11:39

They. Finally start figuring out stuff. So.

11:42

These guys are obviously creek. their canoe

11:44

went for park and ride. their dick

11:46

stuck on stupid or naps aside a

11:48

disgrace because once the stuff went down.

11:51

The. Rocks from been drawn. Dog

11:53

the opposite side of Creaks Brother Chris

11:55

and Fred. Got on the the I

11:57

said agree. There. in iraq during before got

12:00

hit in the back and the kill went for a ride. So

12:03

then being on the same side, they all

12:05

look at each other. Doug is the one

12:07

that had the little .22 pistol for the

12:09

shrub grouse or whatever, the spruce chicken. And

12:12

they immediately recognized we need to freaking go

12:14

or they were not going to go and

12:16

retrieve that canoe because it was in the

12:18

direction of that big whatever in the hell

12:20

that just was. And they weren't

12:22

having none of that. So they start

12:24

backing out of there just real paranoid, understandably,

12:26

that all their fun and games just went

12:28

out the freaking door on a canoe ride

12:31

into the shrubs, right? They

12:33

immediately recognized the threat. The

12:35

way Chris had explained to me was it was

12:38

a very unspoken threat. I asked him, did it

12:40

seem like it was in the air? And he

12:42

said that was the closest kind of analogy he

12:44

could come up with to. They

12:46

started backing out of there. They're going back

12:48

down this little river creek, whatever, to get

12:51

to the end there and then hike back up

12:53

to the cabin. And they were motivated.

12:55

They were trying not to pet it because they

12:57

didn't want to spark any kind of predator flight

12:59

chase kind of thing. So

13:02

they get down to the yetna. And

13:04

just as they meet where this glorified

13:07

river connects with the yetna, they're

13:09

cut up because the trail kind of cuts off the

13:11

point and then drops down onto the bank of the

13:13

river and it cuts up onto the bank and then

13:15

back down as you're going back up the river just

13:18

because brush will hang out too far and then

13:20

you go around it and it just over time

13:22

becomes a game trail or whatever. So

13:25

they're doing this number and just

13:27

as they get around on the yetna and they're starting

13:29

down the bank a little bit, trying

13:31

to discuss a little more because they're snapping out

13:33

of their shock of what the hell threw a

13:35

canoe like that. And they're talking, it couldn't have

13:37

been a bear, could a bear do that? They

13:40

were debating the bear thing, right? It's understandable they

13:42

had no other reference, right? So

13:45

as they're starting to get up on the bank

13:47

to go around this bundle of shrubs to get

13:49

onto the other side, the bank can continue going

13:51

towards the cabin. They heard a series of grunts

13:53

and screams. He said he

13:55

couldn't even put it into words but

13:58

a woman being murdered is a close

14:00

sound and like a

14:02

lion roar type deal but same

14:04

time. And so they're

14:06

immediately even more motivated now because after

14:09

the scream sounds, they hear something paralleling

14:11

of just behind them in the tree

14:13

line but it's catching up fast, right?

14:17

Big impacts in the ground thump and they're like, oh,

14:19

so Doug with the .22 shoots two times

14:22

in the air just to make noise. Bang,

14:24

bang. Once he did

14:26

that, the movement came

14:28

even faster and it passed

14:31

them just out of view. They're seeing

14:33

trees and stuff shake. So they're on

14:35

the riverbank, I can imagine that just

14:37

crashed through there and they said it

14:39

sounded like a bulldozer going

14:42

80 miles an hour through the

14:44

trees because it sounded like

14:46

it was the biggest thing around and it was

14:49

making a large show of whatever the

14:51

hell it was doing. And

14:53

as it got a little bit of ways

14:55

away, they heard the crashing circling

14:57

back a little further distance away. So they

15:00

snap out of it and they said, okay, we

15:02

need to get moving since it's moving back this

15:04

way, let's go that way and get

15:06

to the cabin. So they're doing

15:08

their thing. They're doing this little jump up the

15:11

bank, follow the trail, get down on the riverbank

15:13

again there, guy, because that's how it is. You

15:15

got shrubs hanging over, you're not going to take

15:17

a swim. And so they're doing what they

15:19

have to do to get the hell out of Dodge. He

15:23

was in the rear with this .22 and

15:25

he had no confidence in it after hearing that

15:27

and whatever it was, crashing and banging through the

15:29

woods, he knew that he'd be better

15:31

off shooting Chris or Fred in

15:33

the knee to get away. So they

15:35

get to a point to where the trail

15:38

cuts up onto the bank and then it

15:40

goes up this rise past some tundra and

15:42

some musk egg and some black spruce and

15:44

then comes back, the trail cuts back down

15:46

to the river and there's four large rocks

15:48

or something like that kind of offset of

15:51

each other. I had to get back across

15:53

the retina at that point to

15:55

get to their cabin about another mile or

15:57

so up the river. So

16:00

they go up the rise, they get to the point

16:02

to where the tundra and the black sprucing meat, the musk

16:04

egg or whatever, they get to that

16:06

point and they decide they're going to look back because

16:08

the whole time there was noise going on but it

16:10

stayed in that general area when

16:12

it circled back and they made their move.

16:14

So they're trying to, they're at a higher

16:17

raised area and they're trying to get a

16:19

vantage point to make out what is doing

16:21

this because they felt they're at a safe

16:23

distance. So as they're standing up

16:25

there, they get the idea because

16:27

once they got and actually trying to start looking

16:29

in that direction, all that show

16:32

or whatever was going on stopped. Dead

16:34

silence. Dougie again said, I'll

16:36

shoot one more time in the air. He

16:38

had reloaded at this time. He took it out to

16:40

two dead ones, put in two fresh ones, it was

16:42

just a little six shots, single six,

16:45

a little ruger, single action. Any

16:47

hunter out there knows exactly what I'm talking about.

16:49

So he goes, I'm going to put one in

16:51

the air and see if we can get a

16:53

reaction out of it and get a look at

16:55

this thing. Because this is a good, at this

16:57

point, they're looking down into the trees and it's

16:59

a good 150 yards away and

17:02

they felt very confident that they could

17:05

get out of there and have enough room to

17:07

move anyway and make a move or defend themselves,

17:09

whatever. Okay, yeah, do it. We'll keep

17:11

an eye out. So they're looking, bang.

17:14

They shoot in the air, right? The

17:16

direction they have to go, because

17:19

they came up a trail with the tree line

17:21

on the left, they come up the rise, the

17:23

tree line still on the left. It curves around,

17:25

it goes back down to the yentla. Now

17:28

the raucous is coming down where

17:31

the trail meets the river where they got to

17:33

go in the trees, just basically

17:35

behind them when they shot.

17:38

So they're looking over here, bang,

17:40

where's it at? Oh, it's

17:43

down here behind us doing the same

17:45

shit now. So they don't

17:47

know what the hell to do. I wouldn't either.

17:49

So they went off road and so to speak. They

17:52

started beelering and across the tundra to

17:55

the next little black spruce across the way. And

17:58

what their plan was to get the. out

18:00

of there, get some clear tundra between there

18:02

so they can see where it's moving because

18:04

they didn't see it moving the trees to

18:06

get back behind them basically. Now, it wasn't

18:09

directly behind him, it was kind of offset

18:11

back to their right, but it's still behind

18:13

them and they didn't hear it. They

18:15

get across the way there. And from what

18:17

he was telling me, when they got across there,

18:19

he was having a panic attack. He

18:22

had dealt with childhood asthma and this,

18:25

like a very bad asthma attack. So he had

18:27

to meditate because he hadn't used

18:29

inhaler in years. So he's trying to calm

18:31

himself down, he's on his knees, running

18:33

the chest waders. He now has the 22 pistol.

18:37

Doug is relieving himself in the trees.

18:39

So they have no game plan. They

18:42

just left their game plan of follow the trail,

18:44

get back to the cabin across the retina. They

18:47

weren't having a good time at this point. Doug

18:49

finishes his business, comes back out, he wants the

18:51

pistol back and Fred said no. He

18:54

goes, I got it, don't worry. That way

18:56

you don't have to be the one in the rear, I'm

18:58

a little bigger than you. You could lead the group, we'll

19:00

keep Chris between us and we'll make

19:03

our go. So they

19:06

come up with the game plan, we'll follow

19:08

this tree line down because they're like a

19:10

V-shaped wedge to their left. Down

19:12

in that tree line over there about 60 yards

19:15

or so was where the ruckus happened behind

19:18

them when they shot at the top of

19:20

the rise. Now they're going down to their

19:22

right. So it's a wedge shape. So noise

19:25

over here, they're over here, they

19:27

want to get down here and look for another way

19:29

across further up the river. They want to continue to

19:31

the cabin. So they worked their

19:33

way down just edging the tree line. As they're

19:36

going along, the high bush cranberries happen

19:38

to be in season and they had this weird odor

19:40

to them if you've ever been out in the bush

19:42

Alaska, you know what I'm talking about. Not a musty

19:45

but it doesn't smell

19:47

appealing. We'll put it that way. And

19:50

so they're catching this whiff of it, right? They're

19:53

about half the distance they have to cover to make

19:55

it down to the end because they're not moving fast.

19:58

They're moving, stopping and listening. Now,

20:01

Fred having the gun, he's a

20:03

little bolder, don't know why, it's only 22, but

20:05

because he

20:07

had the gun, it was an un-enthusiastic thing for

20:10

him. So he's a little bit further away from

20:12

that tree line as they're paralleling each other going

20:14

down. He's about 10 feet away and

20:16

he's stepping in the tundra and the marshes up. They're

20:18

making their way down. What Chris and Doug didn't know

20:20

was Fred wanted to try to shoot it. That's

20:23

what he learned later. So he's

20:25

thinking he's going to get him a wild man

20:27

dragging in and make money or something. He found

20:29

this out once they made the cabin. Anyway,

20:32

so they're doing their thing and this

20:34

guy's bold with the 22 for no reason. And

20:37

he doesn't realize the danger he's putting everyone in with

20:39

this garbage. So they make their way down.

20:41

They get down to the yetna. Now

20:44

they were looking in paranoid

20:46

and saw nothing move, right?

20:48

However, at that particular side

20:50

of the yetna river, there's about a

20:52

three foot river bank that you

20:55

can see down to the edge,

20:57

but you can't see that three foot

20:59

if it's shielded. Stay

Our son, Jeffrey, takes over as president.

22:33

Let us protect what is valuable to

22:36

you. jksecurity.com. Unbeknownst

22:41

to them, this thing had dropped

22:43

down to the river and crawled

22:46

and was now in the trees over parallel,

22:49

you know, just as they were getting

22:51

down to the Aetna River. This

22:53

thing didn't give a shit about the gunshot,

22:56

actively intimidating them and

22:58

following them. Okay.

23:00

Not a good combination. Doesn't stir

23:02

happiness, enjoyed friendship to me. So

23:06

the realization of what the hell is going on

23:08

came when, now remember,

23:10

Fred's to the outside of them,

23:12

you got Chris and then Doug. So they make

23:14

like a triangle shape if you were to look down.

23:17

If you're looking down, you got the tree

23:19

line, Doug, Chris, Fred. They

23:22

hear the noise and the

23:24

grunt. They all turn to their right into the

23:26

tree line and on this tree line, it's more

23:28

broken and open. So you have

23:31

a stunted growth black spruce and then you have

23:33

some willows next to it. A

23:35

little more sporadic growth versus the denser

23:38

on the opposite side where they just

23:40

let their trout. When they

23:42

recognize that danger because they were just

23:44

getting down to the river, this tree

23:46

line, the way as it comes down

23:48

the river, understand there's a distance of

23:50

about 15, 20 feet between

23:52

the river bay and where the

23:54

tree line starts again. But you have

23:56

all these little scrub alders and willows that line

23:59

both sides of the. everything around

24:01

and they're oriented where off

24:03

their right shoulder, they're like at the apex of

24:05

where they got to turn and start back up

24:08

and find another way across. But now, this thing

24:10

is pretty much in front of

24:12

them and it starts doing the pacing thing

24:15

again, they turn around

24:17

and take the riverbank back to cross

24:19

those four rocks to get across the river. So,

24:21

they're able to do that. He said everything was a

24:23

blur because I asked him, okay, you're telling me that

24:25

it was off following you,

24:27

paralleling you, but yet you were at the

24:30

apex of the turn and then it started

24:32

moving. He goes, I realized

24:34

when we were coming down, it actually paralleled

24:36

us because we kept hearing stuff and

24:38

then it came to a head when they got down to

24:40

that turning point. So, I was like, okay, that makes more

24:42

sense. Now they backtracked and they

24:44

get across the rock. Now, they still hear the

24:47

movement right over there. Now when

24:49

they get across these rocks and

24:51

they get up on the other side, they're feeling

24:53

a sense of relief. They got a natural barrier,

24:55

a little wider than that little creek and

24:58

they know they're on the right side of the river to

25:00

get to the cabin and that was their motivation. So

25:02

now Fred with the pistol, he's

25:05

standing on the riverbank and he had

25:07

a false sense of security with

25:09

this river dividing

25:12

them. So this Yahoo puts

25:14

a round into the trees, he shot

25:16

high, but from what Chris

25:18

said, he had a look of, yeah, I'm going to

25:20

draw it out kind of thing. He shoots high in

25:22

the trees. That wasn't smart. Scream,

25:26

loud scream and then view from where they came

25:28

across the tundra a little further up the rise

25:30

and then came down this way and then came

25:33

back and then across the creek. They had an

25:35

open view of that little wedge

25:37

shape. They first shot over to their right

25:39

and it was down here behind them. They

25:42

ran across the tundra this way and came

25:44

down the left side. So they had a

25:46

view of this like wedge-shaped alleyway going up

25:48

the rise. Scream

25:51

broke some trees and stuff on its way out of

25:53

that tree line and ran across in front of them

25:56

going towards where the whole shebang

25:58

started further down the line. river. This thing

26:01

was actually leaving the area. Smart

26:03

Fred starts trying

26:06

to pop shots at it as it's running because

26:08

he just sees it, breaks up, starts feathering it,

26:10

right? Dumb thing to

26:12

do. This thing immediately hits the

26:14

tree line that it was running to because it was

26:16

moving fast. Hits the tree line. You hear

26:19

a bunch of breaking and stuff and they could

26:21

see the tops of the black spruce and some

26:23

of the birch just whipping down hard. So this

26:25

thing was smashing this shit down to the ground

26:28

and they immediately turn to start running. As

26:32

they're running, they're yelling, you dumbass. They're

26:34

cursing Fred out because Fred just started

26:36

winging shots at this thing. It wasn't

26:38

necessary. They were in survival mode. Let's

26:40

get out of here. After winging

26:42

the shot, they're running and

26:44

they start hearing splashing in

26:47

the river. Now Fred just emptied

26:49

the six rounds. Doug is

26:51

in the lead a good distance ahead of

26:53

Fred because he was an idiot and stood

26:55

behind. He has a

26:57

22 ammo. So he's got an empty gun. He's got

27:00

a paperweight, right? And he's the last

27:02

one in line and he was the one winging

27:04

shots at this. Now their hall ass and this

27:06

particular part of the trail was pretty well worn

27:09

and they knew it well. They've been going back and

27:11

they've been going on it forever. So they knew their

27:13

way and they were all in ask and

27:16

they hear it paralleling them in the river. Now

27:18

where the cabin is on a bit

27:21

of a rise, it's a single room

27:23

cabin. He said it's approximately only 12

27:25

by 20 on the dimensions of this

27:27

cabin. Seven foot walls, cathedral

27:30

like ceiling, just a shell basically

27:32

with some two by four plywood

27:34

box with low rollout mats on

27:36

it. Just a glorified shack for

27:38

sleep and to go hunting. Nothing more. You don't

27:40

need more. Their hall ass and then

27:42

get here. Meanwhile, they're getting paralleled. Fred's the one

27:44

in the rear and this thing

27:46

is the splashing is passing them. The

27:49

water in this particular part of the river, he said

27:51

was at least three to four feet deep and

27:54

this thing was splashing through it like it was a puddle. They're

27:59

shook. shook and they're motivated

28:01

with their running. They all

28:03

make it back to that cabin. So as they

28:05

get in the door and shut the door, Fred

28:08

in the rear has a severe leg cramp.

28:10

It's so cramped that Doug and Chris have

28:12

to grab him by the ankle and

28:14

help his leg because it was trying to bend up

28:16

and lock up on him. That kind

28:18

of cramp that would just suck so that they're

28:21

tending to Fred. They hear splashing

28:23

out in the river and then a

28:25

moment later they hear something. Whap! Hit

28:27

the door of this cabin. And

28:30

when this thing hit the door, dawned on them

28:32

that this is in a very safe place, right?

28:34

Immediately they let go of Fred's leg. He's on

28:36

his own with his cramp. This asshole just wing

28:39

shots at this and that's why we're here. They

28:41

look out the window to see what the hell

28:44

just hit the cabin.

28:46

And what it ended up being

28:48

was this huge clump of grass

28:50

that was eroded overhang. And it

28:52

was basically, have you ever

28:54

worked with sod? It was similar to sod but

28:57

a big chunk with more dirt and rock stuck

28:59

to the bottom and then the grass out the

29:01

top. So this huge thing had hit the door

29:03

very hard. It must have weighed 60 pounds,

29:05

this big chunk of earth that

29:07

was chucked out the cabin. So

29:10

now they're looking for it. Now inside the

29:12

cabin, they have a shotgun and

29:15

they have a couple other big borer

29:17

rifles. Immediately they're getting the big boy

29:19

guns out. No more 22s for Fred.

29:22

And so he gets his tramp worked out

29:24

and they're all looking out the windows. Now,

29:26

it's not dark yet but they know darkness

29:28

is coming. I'm not trying to draw

29:30

this out. I'm trying to be thorough and

29:32

get all these little nuances in. Time

29:35

goes by and they're getting very

29:37

uneasy because it's dead quiet, dead

29:40

quiet. And they don't want to

29:43

stay. Now they have a little

29:45

bit of a ways to go before the trail that

29:47

will lead a few miles to where they had parked

29:49

their rig to get out of there. If you got

29:51

something that big chasing you, you don't want

29:53

to be on that kind of journey. You don't even

29:56

want to be on a 10 foot journey let

29:58

alone a couple miles through the Alaskan wilderness. With.

30:00

The think pissed off. So. They're

30:03

looking at drop since we got food we

30:05

are shelter we imo here. We're

30:07

good. Will hold out. If

30:10

it keeps. Us in here. someone eventually

30:12

come, but we can defend this place. There

30:14

was three windows of the place, one on

30:16

each of the walls, and then there was

30:19

a narrow window next to the doorway and

30:21

it was a solid steel door. And

30:23

they had some kind of a Bear Dettori nail

30:25

boards and stuff that they would put over the

30:27

windows and on the door to keep their summer

30:30

break in and get turn of their shit. They

30:32

had all that fair board stuff.

30:35

Stacked in any way. Right outside

30:37

the door, against part of the

30:39

windbreak of the porch. And.

30:42

Right! Words particular had to be was

30:44

the stairway down to the ground and

30:46

so when you went out he added

30:48

step around all these bear boards. That

30:51

decides we got these guns. Screw the

30:53

saying let's kill it. That's

30:55

what they think we're gonna. We're going to kill it. Get the

30:57

hell outta here. And and will get help and

31:00

and come back to as it was big When they

31:02

saw moving he said he didn't wanna guess the size

31:04

but he said it was. Massive.

31:06

Massively tall, a guest America as

31:09

he only saw in the water.

31:11

Really well when it was standing in the

31:13

river in the water was just above its

31:15

knees and he thinks that particular spot was

31:18

at least or to fly. C D. Where

31:20

it was standing in it was barely have

31:23

despair said some. He said this feature at

31:25

this particular point. It went from it through

31:27

the copper grass. They break all

31:29

that. They check it out. there are armed up. Moments

31:32

later, And. During their discussion it was

31:34

dug looking up the narrow window at the

31:36

front door that looks down to the river.

31:38

when they sought standing in the water unless

31:40

we're now went over and played in, took

31:42

a look out the window size that what

31:44

they're dealing with. They. Said we're going to

31:46

kill if they go out. And I'll bring

31:48

of the billboards because it comes into play in

31:50

just a Mom. They go out and there's a

31:52

good gap in between these bear boards in the

31:54

stairway to as is thirty six inch wide stairway.

31:57

They easily get by it. and

31:59

as They're sitting there going down discussing

32:01

which direction they go because it was

32:03

no longer standing in the river, it

32:05

was nowhere in sight. It

32:07

was just gone. So they're standing out there

32:10

a moment. At this point,

32:12

it is starting to get to dusk and

32:14

in the trees, it's really dark shadows, but

32:16

there's still plenty of daylight up in the

32:18

sky and in the grass

32:20

and stuff, but anything in the tree line is damn

32:22

near pitch black. So they

32:25

figure out, okay, it must have ran

32:27

over in the trees. God with the shotgun,

32:29

wings some rounds over to those trees. Let's see if we

32:31

can get it to move. Everyone

32:33

be sure we don't shoot, accidentally shoot each other.

32:35

So they're standing shoulder to shoulder so they don't

32:38

swing into each other's fire. Great

32:40

plan, right? He'd let a couple shots

32:42

off across the river. Boom, boom. Not

32:45

a sound. Not a sound. Not

32:47

a sound. They hear nothing. So

32:50

they decide maybe we'll use one of the big

32:52

bore rifles and wing a shot a little

32:55

further down the trees that way. But let's see if we

32:57

can coax it out. Okay, and before we've gotten shots, let's

32:59

see if we'll do it again. Boom,

33:02

shoots a round off. They

33:04

hear something behind them,

33:07

something coming from behind the cabin. So they turn

33:09

around immediately and they're looking

33:11

because the cabin's elevated. It's about a foot and a

33:14

half in the front elevated and it drops off a

33:16

little bit. So it's up to about two and a

33:18

half, three foot on the pilot in the back. So

33:20

they could bend down and look underneath the whole place.

33:23

And they do that and they see nothing.

33:26

They see nothing that would have made the

33:28

noise that smacked or hit the cabin. So

33:30

they figure, oh, it's throwing stuff like

33:32

it did at the creek. It

33:35

threw something and it landed on the cabin and

33:37

that's what got our attention. Okay, okay,

33:39

this thing's smart. So they, you know, they

33:41

think they got it figured out. They turn

33:43

around, they're looking for the direction, this thing,

33:45

whatever was thrown. And

33:47

they hear that noise again. They ignore it

33:49

because they think they're being tricked. They think

33:51

they're being tricked that something's Making

33:54

that noise intentionally to distract their attention that way

33:56

while it does something in front of them. So

33:58

They want to be ready. It

34:00

or not, don't. Serve. You.

34:02

Know that they're doing their thing. They hear

34:04

a scream. Across the river

34:06

to like they thought, right? Oh

34:09

yeah, yeah okay, it's right over there

34:11

were or. Try. To pinpoint it,

34:13

put another big caliber rough around straight

34:15

that direction. You're not going ahead as

34:17

can hit a tree, but. Suited

34:19

that direction. let him know we

34:21

mean business, right? Wing's. The

34:24

shot. As a hear another

34:26

noise behind Med Chem, they're ignoring that

34:28

noise at the cabin, ignoring it or

34:30

not followed for that crap. We.

34:33

We know it's over his. Dog. Movers

34:35

operated The Shock their. Head.

34:37

Of rid of more rounds for back in. that

34:39

damn boy. He decides I'm done

34:42

with this. the shock and short range.

34:44

Are. Going sideways. He turns

34:46

around to go. To. Store distance

34:49

to the stairs of the walkway. The

34:52

Bear boards. Were. All. Turned.

34:55

Nails facing out, Leaned

34:57

up. In staff death in

34:59

front of the door. To see.

35:02

Distracted them. Because they were

35:04

smart. Went. And turned their boards

35:06

around. nails sticking out to stop them.

35:09

From. Getting back in his African candid. So.

35:12

When they saw that, the realization

35:14

was. Were being for can

35:16

played. Vs. What? They.

35:18

Didn't go back in the caf. They. Took their

35:20

happy as as with the ammo, the head

35:22

and the guns they had gone in the

35:25

dark and three soldiers I added there. They

35:27

said they thought they to sound like they're

35:29

being parallel. The couple different times it would

35:31

fire off a volley of shots. Now

35:34

they're doing this. It's gone in

35:36

the darkness, they got no gear other than their

35:38

guns and a bunch, and will they do in

35:40

their pockets to a cost this? And

35:43

their get now outta dodge. It's a

35:45

accumulated about three and a half miles.

35:48

To. Go from where this particular cabin was,

35:50

do the Muskegon, the trails, the black

35:52

spruce on and to higher ground, then

35:54

lower ground and higher ground up until

35:56

or in a park. Deter troopers, I

35:58

did it. They they still. Down.

36:01

The main reason ominous share that with used

36:03

one is Holy Crap. That sunny.

36:06

Kinda bear boards around to. That's.

36:09

Genius to keep him from been able

36:11

to run back and easily. Wow.

36:14

Just Wow. Well what do

36:16

you? What are you doing? The situation like that? Oh

36:18

what can we make of that? The best,

36:21

his son some other level. That's.

36:23

Like. Imitate in the baby Crying War

36:26

and my cousin Elizabeth are. They're

36:28

going to prey on a woman's instinct

36:30

and nature to lower amounts dues. There's

36:33

more going on with these things. We know,

36:35

the smart, We. Know they're

36:37

very smart, but I think they're smarter and

36:39

just as cunning as we are. They just

36:41

go about it in a different way because

36:44

we live in a different world. Not.

36:46

Of they come out of a portal. Know. The

36:48

woods being the different world their their

36:51

twenty four seven. Am. Sure they've

36:53

been around of who knows how long may live.

36:55

What they say, this sing new enough. I'm

36:57

assuming it was one distracted by one

36:59

another. One did something I don't know.

37:01

They didn't see it. But

37:03

they heard the noises and they ignored a tip.

37:06

I tell you what, Chris. Doug

37:08

instead. They will never ignore

37:11

him. Noise behind their my gear and I'm

37:13

not sure. make light of it and is

37:15

like. To. Imagine. He

37:18

or scape is right there you steal. Your

37:20

safety is right there. And. Lo and

37:22

behold. It's. Turned on. Yeah yeah this

37:24

this man made porcupines a semi. they get

37:26

in the door. Ah jeez.

37:29

Man. Or. They still

37:31

go there. Visitors to Do years where

37:33

I think he said that not very long ago.

37:36

Be safe when you go bro and keep

37:38

the bear boards. Somewhere. Else to

37:40

where. He don't give Porcupine that a

37:42

your own damn cabin when you get home and as

37:44

he sings ticked off that she could you Buddy was

37:47

the wings at it. Or not

37:49
