A new film shot with OnePlus 5 in 4K is Cristina Isoli’s directorial debut with Avant-Garde Pictures. The production quality, the story and characters, acting, audio, composition and set design; these are some of the virtues of this mobile film which make it one of the best films we have seen this year. The film is called Lightning and tells the story of a an unexpected relationship between an underground musician and a deaf girl with a dream of being an airplane pilot.

The film was shot in London and just completed. It stars Andy Steele & Genevieve Barr and It’s currently not available for public viewing but we had the privilege of seeing it and it blew us away! In only seconds we were captivated by the story and the beauty of the film’s aesthetics and forgot we were watching a film shot with a phone. We provide a link to the trailer but we urge you to stay tuned because we know this film is going to not only win awards, but it will inspire the best of filmmakers to use their smartphones to share great stories in film.

Cristina’s insights into filmmaking and directing are a great value to anyone interested in making films, regardless of the camera. However, her passion for helping our podcast listeners make an exceptional mobile film with their smartphone will keep you listening and get lost in the possibilities of sharing stories through film.

Below is the trailer of her film, Lightning. We also provide a link to the film her partner, Giacomo Mantovani directed and submitted to IMFF 2016, History Lesson. Cristina was the producer for that film.
