The spacecast went to the 15th annual Gem and Jam this year and it was so fun! We drove directly to Tucson from Denver in the middle of the night to save money on hotels, totally don't recommend if you want to see a specific band day 1 ! I got a first official press pass where I could bring my camera , boy did i fall in love with a back up career plan! If you want to make the trip for gems specifically , do your research we ended up at a wholesalers tent and didn't want to spend $200 on some gems or minerals but that's because we were balling on a budget! Don't worry there are gems and mineral at the fairgrounds too! I was hoping to show if you're an introvert wanting to go to a festival but maybe its overwhelming or maybe its impossible to coordinate with your friends to go with that you. You can 100% survive , most festivals bring out the excitement of seeing really good music , dressing to whatever vibe you feel comfortable with , so all the judgements of the outside world don't really seem to matter when you're at a good festival ! Gem and Jam delivers all the elements of really well run festival and I cant wait to go back!
