We then move into the main topic, which is an in-depth discussion of James Kahn’s impressive novelisation of Return of the Jedi. We discuss the background to the novelisation, and the various ways in which it enhances and even improves upon the film. We read some of our favourite passages, finding ourselves befuddled by Vader’s weirdly puritanical hang-ups and impressed by the new depth leant to characters such as Luke and Leia.
