This week the Government announced their plan for a slow easing of lockdown over the coming months. Meanwhile there have been yet more announcements this week about big brands cutting jobs in their stores, and closing branches. An interesting one that caught our eye was Asda who are cutting store jobs, and transferring many of them to the online arm of their business. That gives you an idea of what they think is coming...

There are things that all shops can do to prepare for whatever comes next. Just because customers won't necessarily be flocking back to the High Street (assuming they were flocking there in the first place ?), it doesn't mean small shops can't thrive in the new Norman. (Sorry I'm trying to avoid saying 'the new normal' because I'm so tired of hearing that phrase, as you might be too.)
