Self Service Marketplace Portal and Closer HP OneView Ties

HP  Senior  Director Product Manager Mike Verdugo releases new info on the next generation of the Cloud System portfolio, with major enhancements to the solution. HP’s over-all cloud portfolio includes a complete set of build and operate solutions and complementary consume operations such as public cloud and managed cloud services. The new product expands the build and operate solution, which is already in use with over 1200 customers worldwide. The new system introduces a self service marketplace portal and major enhacements to the user experience. There is also increased integration with HP OneView offering the same integration services at the hardware and cloud services level.

Both enterprise and hosting provider customers will find the new solution of interest. Mike discusses HP contributions to OpenStack. This next version of Cloud System is build on HP Cloud OS, a major contribution to OpenStack. This offers protection against lock-in and allows customers long term flexibility in Cloud environments.

Michael is Senior Director of Product Management for HP Cloud.  In this role, he is responsible for leading HP’s cloud portfolio strategy and roadmap development with a focus on private cloud solutions for enterprise and service provider customers.  He is directly involved in product/solution requirements definition and collaborating with a broad range of HP business units to ensure delivery according to the company-wide technology and business strategy. Michael and his team engage in a wide range of strategic portfolio positioning and outbound marketing activities, solution launches, and HP Cloud solution evangelism.

Prior to joining HP Cloud, Michael was Senior Director of Alliances & Business Development for HP Networking .  He previously held senior leadership roles in HP Networking and in HP’s Imaging and Printing business units over a 25 year period spanning product management, business development, technical marketing, and R&D functional leadership.

Verdugo graduated with honors from California State University, San Luis Obispo with a BS in Electronic Engineering.  He is also a graduate of the AeA/Stanford Executive Institute for Management of High-Technology Companies, the HP Advanced Development Program and the Wharton School of Business Strategic Thinking and Management for Competitive Advantage Program.
