2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. But there is also another lesser-known space anniversary this year: 2019 is the 40th anniversary of when Skylab, America's first space station, came crashing down to earth.

And yet they did great things for furthering our understanding of science, space, and long-term space travel.
