It was the week before Christmas 1979 in Cedar Rapids when a local teen was found stabbed to death inside her parents car in a mall parking lot. After years of speculation and dead ends, it seemed as though her murder would never be solved. Then almost 4 decades later, after advancements in DNA testing, genetic genealogy cracked the cold case wide open and a cold-blooded killer was finally taken off the streets. This is the case of Michelle Martinko.
