Bill Ferguson is a fourth-generation producer who runs Dunedin Pastoral, a company based in Trangie that owns and manages "Horrigen Park" and "Warrawee". Both farms primarily produce dryland crops and irrigated cotton, with Bill working in his overtime to automate his farming practices wherever he can.

In this episode, Bill explains the exciting opportunities he sees for new advancements in technology for agriculture, and how this has recently become reality on his farms with the trialling of modified machinery that automatically sprays paddocks. Bill also shares his ultimate goal of improving efficiency on farm, and what he's doing to find the perfect balance between valuable farm labour, and new-age automation.

Local Land Services Cropping Advisor Tim Bartimote sat down with Bill over a cuppa to see what the future of farming might look like.
