Here at Jenn Unfiltered we talk about heavy shit so, listen at your own risk.

Hey guys, in this episode we will be talking with Candace McNamee about death, suicide, loss and grieving.

Candace is 29 years old and an only child who grew up on a cattle ranch in eastern Oklahoma. Her mom was a public school teacher which contributed to her love and support of public education. She graduated from Sallisaw High School and then received her Bachelors and Masters from NSU in Tahlequah.

Candace is now a speech pathologist for a small school in eastern Oklahoma. She loves spending her free time with my fiance, kids, dogs and of course, her dad. When she is not at work, she is typically burning the road up taking the kids to some sort of practice, game or tournament.

Today, Candace shares her story about losing her cousin, and my best friend, 10 years ago, she high school friend committing suicide, and the ultimate loss of her mother. We talk about how watching someone take their last breathe is the easy part, living the rest of your life without them is the hard part.

She shares about her journey healing with medicine and talking about those she loved as a way to cope and help others.

Grieving is messy. It's ok to feel the feelings! It's ok to be sad, to be angry, to experience joy and to live a happy life. And it is ok to seek out help as you grieve those you love.
