In today’s episode I chat with Nyla Choates, a youth activist from Milpitas, CA. In just a couple of days Nyla organized her local BLM Protest and thousands of people showed up! She also started her own nonprofit called My Roots are Rich which aims to empower, inspire, and educate people by reinforcing the rich history of African Americans and their contributions to America. We talk about how to have difficult conversations about the BLM movement with family members, how to organize a protest in a short amount of time, and how to keep the BLM movement going even after it isn’t trending. Enjoy the episode!
