Have you ever wondered - “How does everyone else have it together, but I don’t – and I can’t?” We all fight this same battle learning how to manage what we’ve been given.
Mundane: lacking interest or excitement, ordinary, day-to-day
A word I would never have used as a child dreaming of life as an adult. I never fathomed they would come along with the work of maintaining a home. Somehow, I skipped right over the sink full of dishes, floors to be swept, and baskets of laundry to be cleaned. Reality however and seeing them day-to-day makes skipping them over impossible.
Work is a fact of life, I don’t like it – we don’t like it – but it’s truth, and here is what God says:
Ecclesiastes 2:24 (NLT) “So I decided there is nothing better than to enjoy food and drink and to find satisfaction in work.”
Proverbs 31:13 (ESV) “She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.”
Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT) “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the master you are serving is Christ.”
Join me as we look to 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
One verse, three actions to a better attitude in maintaining your home - rejoice, pray, give thanks.
