It's a cold and windy day in Vegas, and I'm fighting a cold, but I am so pleased to be back with you again this week to continue looking at how to not settle in your career. As promised, we are looking at a case study, and this week it is the story of one of my clients, Jill, who came to me about a year ago, and who, like a lot of you, had spent probably years thinking about a career change, but was a little bit terrified and a little bit unsure about where to start. Today, I’ll run through Jill’s story with you, and demonstrate some of the strategies I employ, in particular the power of the Enneagram, to help not only her, but all those who find themselves in similar circumstances.
Throughout this episode, I talk in detail about the use of the Enneagram in my work with clients, from health and wellbeing to career change. We look at how I used the Enneagram to help Jill, a marketing director for a large organization, navigate the problematic state of affairs in her career. Jill's work made sense to her, she was good at it, but she wasn't really enjoying it, and that was starting to impact her life, being a wife and a mom. In essence, today’s case study is all about how we used the Enneagram to study her personality, and develop solutions and action steps to improve her situation, and how we can do the same for you.

The Finer Details of This Episode:
Quotes:
"Part of the work is identifying how to make the best of the job you have at the moment so you can keep showing up."
"I'm all about taking little baby steps, and we have to be able to do that so that we don't give up, get stagnant, go back to being in that place."
"Because her personality can cause her to pride herself on being more competent and capable than others, sometimes she can miss opportunities to receive support and help from others."
"A lot of times, we know that we want to change. We know that our current career is not working for whatever reason… but a lot of times, it's really hard for us to know what's next, especially if, like Jill, we've been doing the same thing for 20-plus years.”
"Our work isn't just about figuring out what's next, but it's also helping you be able to recognize who you are without the title and without the job because that is more important, which is what is wonderful about the Enneagram."
"What I didn't want was her to be too quick to act and compromise on the planning and preparing because that happens a lot. And we're seeing that a lot right now."
"Because sometimes we can have a job that we enjoy and fulfills a lot of our needs, and then we also make sure that we're pursuing our passion on the side."
"It's okay to be doing this for yourself. It's okay to put time and energy into something that feels good to you."
"You can set boundaries. You can make decisions. This is a part of you."
"The beauty of knowing strengths, what clients are most comfortable with, is that we can move through contemplation to action at the pace that is the most effective and comfortable for each individual."
"It's incredibly powerful when doing this work because I get, like, to peek behind the curtain. I have a full picture of who I'm working with, and they get to see it too. They feel seen."
