We are very excited you are watching this episode because we have the one and only Tyler Muto on to discuss everything about dog reactivity. This is not a dog trainer chat, but this is a chat for the dog owners and how you can help your dog (and yourself!).

Tyler is a world renowned dog trainer who is based in Buffalo New York. For years he ran a the very successful dog training business K9 Connection where he has helped countless owner’s and their dogs with a wide variety of issues such as reactivity and aggression.

He has acreated an amazing learning platform for dog owners called Consider The Dog. It is full of helpful videos and courses from a variety of different well known dog trainers. If you have a puppy or a dog with aggression issues, there is something for you there. Questions we covered: 1. What do you think are common causes for reactivity in dogs (excluding bad breeding/genetics?) 2. Would you think a one off ‘attack’ causes reactivity? Or the owner that has done ‘everything right’ 3. What are common mistakes reactive dog owners make that can make the reactivity worse? 4. Lots of dog owners feel like correcting their ‘fear reactive’ dog is a big no no. What is your take on that? 5. Do you think it’s necessary to label the ‘type’ of reactivity? E.g fear reactivity? Does it change the way you approach training? 6. Rehoming has a big stigma in the dog world (compared to say the horse world). When do you think its suitable for owners to look for a new home? Or even look at behavioural euthanasia?
