Wer Jokenya-which is a Luo word that means "music for the people of Kenya"-is a digital archival platform that seeks to share Kenya's music history. Through digital collages and curated imagery and playlists, Wer Jokenya exists to be a space that is built upon collective and communal memory. It also exists to celebrate musical traditions and their histories beyond the confines of imperial borders.
